I tried playing the trumpet for an entire year. It didn't work. I just want to know why I couldn't make a decent sound. And people who can play make it look so easy.

I first have to say I just saw that Ryan has passed. He has been a great friend with music and support as I too am a cancer survivor of 29 years. I have supported Cancer Blows for years, never take off my wrist band. He hooked me up with the Yamaha Silent mute and use it often. He told me years ago if I was ever in Dallas visiting my sister to contact him and bring my horn. Sadly I could not after dealing with stroke issues (full paralysis of the right side and had to play trumpet with my left hand for almost a year when I could start to play) and he was so encouraging and that's when I decided to "Stay Strong and Never Quit". I'm so grateful for you sharing these memories. This arrangement is a favorite of mine and have played it often. I am now 56 years old and staying focused on my health. I will always remember Ryan for his love of music and push to Never Quit. Music was his recovery and he loved it to the last day here on earth. He is now playing Heavenly music and I'm sure giving Gabriel some pointers as well. Till we meet again at the golden gates, You Will Always Be in my heart. God Bless the family.
