Off to see Elkie at the Birmingham Town Hall in February. If you get the chance see her and hopefully she will perform " A song for you" it's outstanding.

@@jgsrhythm100 I`m a big Tina Turner fan and have just listened to her live version here on UA-cam. It`s a great version- especially considering what she was going through at the time. My fave of the versions I`ve heard so far remains JC`s to date . It`s a great song .

Yes Chris this was filmed there.At the start of the video there`s footage of fans going into the theatre. I actually noticed this concert was also released on Laser Disc when I was browsing eBay yesterday there was a copy mixed in an LP job lot listing. This tour was amazing and got me hooked on both live music and Elk as a 21 year old.

@@martinlee8907 great thanks for reply, yes I had goose bumps especially Lilac Wine, she started the tour here and came back to end the tour if I remember rightly, so got to work with her twice

@@TheArpomni2 I think that tour was split into two halfs either side of Christmas 1982/83..it was a big tour and she played to many of the biggest theatres in the country at the time -often on multiple dates. I looked at an old tour programme I have and it only lists the 1983 dates so you were working on the first leg in `82 when the album was released.

@@martinlee8907 that makes perfect sense, I worked there from 81 onwards, I was only 17 I think so kind of got spoiled by staff and crews of bands or other performances, I played drums since 13 years old, so many times the stage crew would say to bands road crew, hey our stage hand plays drums, and so many times the tired drummers where more than happy for me to do soundchecks, from memory I played with Bucks Fizz, Shawaddywaddy, and many more, but must add only on soundchecks lol, sometimes it was just soundboard man getting levels right so I'd sit there and he would shout, snare drum, again again, OK, now small Tom Tom and so on, so could see why tour drummers where happy to let me do it, but actually played the odd song if I knew it like Making your mind up, remember them right in front of me doing that ripping off skirt thing lol,

The person behind the mask is Pat King ex bass player with Manfred Mann. He was the tour manager for Elkie .
