What you have described is very similar to my experience when first trying Silver Oud by Amouage. I understand what you mean by kind of obsessed. What was initially off putting, due it being an unfamiliar smell, soon turned into an absolute love. Silver Oud also got me prepared for King Blue so when finally trying it for the first time the oud was familiar. Pleased to hear you have a full bottle of King Blue as I know what this fragrance means to me. I do not wear this as much as I would like to due to my circumstance. However, whenever I do it completely captivates and is a true pleasure to wear. 🙏

Unfortunately I have not tried any Ormonde Jane fragrances though I have had a little look into them so I maybe will get around to trying one or two of them 👍

@@AlpineMontane Yup that's the one. Is it a very sweet scent? because of the tonka bean? Also, do you consider it a gourmand because of the almond note? I'm not a fan of gourmands or overly sweet scents.

@@BeautyofScent This is not overly sweet at all. It would be fair to say it has some elements of a gourmand due to the tonka bean, almond, orange and possibly vanilla. However, it feels like the woods, Leather and vetiver hold it back from being a full gourmand. I think this is why l'homme ideal works so well for me as some sweet gourmands can become sickly after a while of wearing them, not a fan of them. This is so delicate in all its facets and really is a finely balanced fragrance. Longevity on my skin is also very good for an edt. I do not like to recommend fragrances to others due to fragrances being subjective. However, when I first got my nose on this it was inevitable it would end up in the collection at some point. 🙏

This is the mystifying thing with this fragrance if it is fake as it smells great.

This may be a polarising fragrance. I must admit I did not care for this at first and it took several wears for me to come around to it. My suggestion would be to get a sample and have a few wears as it may no be for everyone. 👍

Also the ones that smell legit have the thameen logo on the atomizer as well as thameen London embossed on bottom of the glass. The 100ml ones don’t have the glass embossed or the logo on atomizer. Could be a mixture of fake and real bottles 🫣

Ive smelled dupes and clones in the past though not to to the quality of this. I did also notice a few other sellers around with similar details which had me thinking is this the same person or group of people. 🙏

Really did not like this to start with. I kept going back to it to try and change my mind. Then it finally dropped on me. Now I really like this so I had to buy a full bottle. This is one that I am careful were to wear this as one can easily end up smelling like other people due to its popularity. 👍

Thank you you for watching and commenting, much appreciated. Oddly enough I wore RT last night, the first time for around 6 months. It also go me a great compliment. For me this is a great Autunm/Winter fragrance. I have had to learn the hard way that a little goes a long way rather than over spaying. I could still smell this faintly this morning after I woke so it lasted around 15hrs. To me RT is like a mixture of Herod and Carlisle, both by Parfums de Marley. In terms of placing this in the collection this is difficult to do as my mind is constantly changing, depending on weather and season. I could see this in the top 30 possibly 20 and for the price, performance and compliments it deserves to be in any collection.🙏

@@AlpineMontane Wow thank you for such a detailed reply. Again you have very chill reviews/videos whenever I got time to chill and play Forza Horizon 5 I have your videos open on my second monitor. As for the performance do you have any stronger fragrances than RT?

@@cifexus lol Ive yet to play any Forza im usually playing dark souls, elden ring 😆. In terms of performance if you mean beast mode Carlise, king blue, silver oud, grand sior, spice bomb extreme to name a few fragrances that project massively on me. In terms of longevity Carlise is one of the longest lasting fragrances on my skin. Also both Layton, Layton exclusive, Greenly, Naxos, Alexandria 2 & 3 this also last 12+ hrs on me. All these are also a pleasure to wear 👍

@@AlpineMontane Souls games are where it's at :D. I do have PDM Layton but it does not perform as I would've hoped for given it's price, although it is because I got the reformulated bottle. I really do not understand why these high-end niche fragrance company's reformulate their juice and ruin the originals'. Even one of my weakest niche fragrance Mancera Tonka Cola outperforms it.

@@cifexus yes the reformulations can sometimes affect performance. When shopping pdm it is always best to seek out the old 78%vol. Sometimes they can be found at a good price. They are obviously the same fragrance though they tend to be deeper and richer in their character. 👍

it is strong, stronger than most "intense" versions of modern designer fragrances. The Amber isn't like your usual Amber scent though. This one is definitely a fascinating take and the new formulation isn't as complexe as the ancient one but it's still incredible. the dry down is out of this world. You will not smell anything similar anywhere

This is very much a strong, distinctive fragrance. I would not say it is beast mode on my skin though it is such a pleasure to wear because of it's different facets. The performance I get is around 8-10hrs. This is more than enough for a great wearing experience. 🙏

I brought this and around 6 200ml layton shower gel from an eBay seller early last year. I looked the other day and there was one on there for £180 on ebay UK 👍

Yes the seller of this was similar, very adamant and was keen for me to have it authenticated. They also offered an immediate refund, so I just kept it. It does smell fantastic and if it is a dupe it is a very good quality one 👍

There are plenty of legit sellers on eBay. You have to look at their feedback and whether or not they are a registered business.

This is unisex possibly more male leaning. Both this and Black to Black were developed by Pierre Montale. They are very similar that one would not need to won both. The rose in this is much sharper and smell slightly synthetic. I really struggle to smell any oud in this. When wearing this I will typically apply some real oud beneath then layer this on top. 👍

Thank you, This is such a great fragrance. Amouage is such a great house with many remarkable fragrances. My mind changes all the time around which are top. It would probably be the oud heavy ones. However, many people around me do not like these so they do not get that many wears. Interlude 53 and Jubilation XXV are on the list to buy at some stage as well as Reflection 45. It is great that some houses have very strong, good quality, concentrations. It is awesome that you would send some samples thank you. I must say though I may not be able to do reviews on them. It is a classic and hard to dislike. The newer boxes of pdm fragrance have changed from the striped to the plain single colour type.

Yes I did contact the seller, They offered my money back and assured me I could get this verified. Many have commented on the difference with the 50ml bottle and this bottle. Im inclined to believe it is not legit. Though I have to be honest it does really smell great if it is fake.

I bought the same from a seller beginning with the letter p from eBay. Everything about the packaging is top notch and as you described yours with the embossed bottom of bottle. If it is fake, it's the most effort I've ever seen put in to a fake. The scent is nice but the longevity isn't good.

I hear you man. It was one of the first niche Fougere fragrances I tried. I have to admit my taste did not appreciate it at the time. It was only a 5 ml decant. I went to revisit this a few months ago, though for some reason there was nothing left in the decant. Maybe a leak. The fougere is much more interesting to me now. A revisit or a purchase of the original Viking maybe a future purchase at the right price. 🙏
