Bandera, TX MTB - Mountain Lion Sighting - Cedar Loop/Pasture Loop/Prairie Loop/Bar-O/Spring Branch The GoPro footage might not make it clear, but in person, this large cat appeared clear as day as I rounded the corner on my bike and the cat darted from the trail into the woods. It was certainly not a deer nor a bobcat. I'd already had a gut feeling that there would be some wildlife out on thes...

What are the best biking trails in New Braunfels?
These are currently the only MTB trails in NB, as far as I know
Bro, you were in my neighborhood! I'm on those trails about once a week 🤙🏽
Sometimes you just gotta hike a bike. Up them steep ones, or maybe just me. 🤷🏻♂️
grew up right there. you ended at my parents house. used to skip highschool to smoke weed down at the creek
Nice flowy trails. Gained a sub. Listening to this ride helped me fall asleep. In a good way!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
@ yes sir so much I watched twice. Once for the ride. The second for sounds. Sooo soothing. I can’t wait to hit the trails.
Nice trails. What frame rate you using on GoPro?
can you give coordinates of where exactly this trail starts? it looks good.
The trailhead parking address is 3104 N Loop 1604 W, San Antonio, TX 78231. I use Trailforks to navigate around. There are lots of trails both north of the bridge and south of it, all part of the more expansive Salado Creek Greenway.
Thank you, I will check it out soon.
Ive been meaning to go out here, isnt it community maintained? Is there any rules to going out there that you know of?
❤❤❤❤
I was wondering what this trail was like. Thanks for the video!
Bro this is sick i want to ride ebike there is that public area??
These trails are amazing. We just did a 9 miles ride, and the weather was amazing. What bike are you riding?
Isn't this park on top of the old city dump? Nope won't be riding these toxic traills.
@@George-Kliavkoff4Big12 Now that you mention it, it had that vibe lol, with the random exposed large rolling hills.
@@kenny91087 dude, watch out for syringes puncturing your tires. Well, you can patch it with either a dirty diaper or a used condom. Ha ha. Gross
Where the hell is the mountain lion?!!
@@takozamtbtrailscout7106 It’s in the beginning, but admittedly it’s a bad capture of it due to an editing oversight. The cat was visible on my monitor while editing my GoPro clips; I was able to go through it frame by frame. But the end result did not show it well here. So I uploaded a follow-up clip, a slow-mo of just the mountain lion darting from left to right across the trail.
That place has alot of potential hopefully they keep developing it, we need more places to ride in Texas
BCR is one of my all time favorites in Texas.
I rode that off trail on my fixed gear track bike non stop to end and back
Can you share where the start of this place is
@@ireed10 There is parking by one of the visitor buildings; I think it’s called River Crossing camping area. It’s a short pedal to Wild Horse Creek trail, as well as the Frio trail from there. Wild Horse leads you up into the rugged, elevated stuff.
We just moved to Liberty Hill Texas can't wait to try out this Trail in Georgetown
Move back plz
nice I like it !
Wow has that trail changed. Last time I rode it was before the fire. Could barely tell where you were at first. Thanks for the post.
What kind of bike did you use ?
Specialized Stumpjumper Alloy
Beautiful. Hope you’ll keep posting. This is the kind of mtb i am interested in.
@@t4txt4tn69 Awesome, glad you enjoyed!
Is this a pay to ride place?
@@vv5179 No, it is a free public park
The way you hold your bars is a recipe for disaster...
@@rhamej How do you figure?
@@kenny91087 I think they mean your thumb position nether one is actually gripping the bars.
@@kenny91087 Your thumbs are not wrapping the bars. One big mis-timed front end hit, and you will be eating the stem.
@@rhamej I'll keep that in mind; thanks for the tip!
I didn't see a mountain lion 😮
@@NoCarNancy Yeah it’s not a good view here. I uploaded a second video slowed down and zoomed, much clearer. I realized I should have just done that in the first place 😆
Looks like Africa im surprised they're weren't real lions 😅
@@NoCarNancy Haha, it’s what I imagine a lot of Africa to look/feel like!
Im sure they see people without their knowledge 😮
@@NoCarNancy I’ve often suspected this.
That fire really changed the landscape out there.
That actually happened to my party out there back in the late 90's. I was in the lead going downhill. We all saw the mountain lion, came to a complete stop, did an about face, and headed back up the hill. Only I was now at the back of the pack. By the time we reached the top of the hill, I was back at the lead of the pack. ha ha.
@@George-Kliavkoff4Big12 Haha, cool!
I've ridden out there a couple of time and never even thought about mountain lions 😮
@@Robert_512 Same here. This was the first one I’ve ever seen in the wild.
Do you have tabs? Amazing job!
@@ilay829 I do not have tabs saved but I will work on getting some. Thank you!
@@kenny91087 🙏
Can you post the map of where it is? I couldn't find the entrance to it. Thank you.
@@VictorMartinez-vw3gj Google Maps navigate to “Redbird Ranch Amenity Poolside”…Trails branch off from the parking lot into the woods behind the pool area. It’s a bit inconspicuous, though the trail system is now visible on Trailforks, which I recommend downloading if you haven’t already.
Been thinking about this place. Looks kinda flat in the video. Did you have more fun there or Miller Springs?
Yeah not a lot of elevation here, but pretty flowy with some cool features. I think the riding was slightly more fun at Lampasas, and Miller was more scenic.
@@kenny91087 But is it worth the drive? Everything is torn up around here, Miller, Dana Peak, BLORA's not bad...but not great. Need to get some good miles in.
@@mikemoore1177 Worth it as long as those trails didn’t get torn up as well. I don’t know how that area held up. Have you been to Ogletree Gap in Copperas Cove? It has miles of XC and some chunk. Again, not sure of the current conditions up there.
You messed up, youre not supposed to ride on Los Patios grounds, only the trail.
Amazing ! 😻
😍😍😍👍👍👍
Nice video ❤
I like your veideos bc you ride slow like me, your camera is clear , I am a new rider and me and my husband like going to flordia in the winter time to ride.
Where is this? I tried looking it up on TrailForks, but nothing came up. TIA.
Where are the access points for these trails? I know where Katy is.
I started at Chautauqua Park, 602 Rucker St. in Georgetown. I used the Trailforks app to navigate the trails from there. The Chautauqua trail branches off the multi-use trail running along the back of the park. To access Gotham I crossed the University Ave. bridge, took a right and found the trail inlet going into the woods behind the bridge.
Right on! I was searching to see if anyone captured riding Cibolo Creek. I used to ride it back in the early 2000's with soe folks from SAMBA and BikeMojo. I would start from the park and ride underneath 35, Schertz Park, or my house on Pecan Dr :). A lot has changed! 👍
What trail has that wooden feature?
It’s in the Freeride 512 skills section behind the church. The southwestern corner of the SN trail system
@@kenny91087 ahhhhhhh ok - i typicaly skip that thinking its all jumps . Thanks
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. 👍2
pretty cool
Amaziiiing 🔥
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. 👍4
Im moving right off 337/46 next week. Looking for a new spot to ride. How many miles can you do out there? I normally do like 2 loops at mcallister park and its like 21 miles. Looking for something similar in that NB area.
This is a much smaller area compared to McAllister Park, I would estimate the whole system only nets about 4 miles. It is lap-able and flowy, though. For a longer XC ride (albeit more challenging and techy than Mac and NB), I'd recommend Canyon Park in Canyon Lake which is not too far from NB.
And there are also all the trails in San Marcos which is not far either. Between Purgatory, Spring Lake, and River Recharge you can string together a couple dozen miles for sure.
Nice ride! I'll be going out there (again) this weekend, and really looking forward to it.
8 years and no comments, outrageous, amazing cover bro 👍
Thanks a lot!
