      lol. Why do people compare this light weight death tin can. It’s got a 1 star safety rating. Your probability of not dieing in the Tesla is several orders of magnitude better than the Citroen. But. Yes, the light weight tin can tackled the moose test a bit faster. Whoopie. Just have a look at crash test results between the model y (SAFEST car in class) to this POS Citroen that crumples and takes its occupants to the grave. May as well drive a go-kart through this track and compare that 😂.

      @@ibsn87 It is best to avoid the accident in the first place. Comparing an costly overweight battering ram, to a 25 year old car that delivered 5.5 to 6.8 litres per 100 km and was extremely resource efficient in manufacture and long lived is a bit thin. A friend of mine with a Tesla Model 3 has done 130,000 km, he previously had a Xantia turbo petrol and did 300,000 kms. In 2013 we took our 1997 Xantia 1.9 turbo diesel way in the Aussie outback in great comfort and stability through the Flinders Ranges and up the Oodnadatta Track past Lake Eyre with over 1,000 kms to a tank returning 5.4 litres/100 km. Even today a BEV would need an onboard generator to complete such a trip. A Nissan XTrail E force hybrid would be ideal... my brother bought one last year. Magic vehicle. PS Xantias performed well in crash tests in their day... Like the Model 3 they sold heaps.

      @@ibsn87 I prefer my current light weight efficient Citroen C4 Cactus and even lighter 2CV6 - much more fun and more "Whole of Life" friendly for the environment than a heavyweight BEV. Just put a new motor in the 2CV after 285,000 kms... Now a Citroen Oli... there is a BEV that makes sense ... when battery tech matches the brilliance of the design.

      @@stephenberry1205 I’ve done 100,000km on BEV and probably 600,000km ICE… using 98% home solar on my BEV. At end of life. A LFP battery is fully recyclable. As is the car. As demand has increased, in the likes of Norway, the battery’s are a commodity and absolutely get recycled on mass. Cars (full stop) are a HUGE tax on the environment. There is no substantial evidence to say that burning petrol or diesel for 300,000km is better for the environment then using EV’s which by their very nature are a substantially more efficient use of energy, and indeed recover energy every time they come to a stop or go down hill, or sit at lights… unlike ICE. FWIW, (full disclaimer i own an EV) the model Y hauls ass, handles better than you could ever imagine or ask for - for an SUV, and costs (me) zero to run, day in day out, hop in a go. Most fun car I’ve driven as a daily. Most cost efficient and most satisfying. I’ve had a few JDM cars before this. I really don’t miss them. Even using off peak coal is far better than filling up my near 3 tonne fully lifted modified turbo 4.2 liter GU patrol. But yeah, there is pages and pages of studies that show BEVs become better for the environment anything over an average of 38,000km and that’s if you charge entirely with a dirty coal grid…. Substantially lLess if you have an offset grid source. Anywho. I didn’t come here to argue about BeV vs ICE, Opinions aside, there’s enough data and common sense out there to settle that argument. The xantia is a death box. That’s why it gets its weight around the corner as it’s a sheet steel tin can. Absolutely no f’n way I would put my family in that car. No thanks. But yes. It did exceedingly well on the moose test.

    its useless, here in Lithuania drives safety rally car, which is going not for speed, but sending rocks to spectators on purpose. so than real race starts they would stay away not to get rocks in face

    The record now goes to the Chinese. That being the IM L6 ev sedan costing only 48K with a 308km/h top speed, and completed the moose test at 90km/h certified by TUV.

    The Kia reacts much faster with less understeer than the Model Y. It almost seems like the driver doesn’t countersteer quickly enough.

    I've ordered a Kia Niro (2023) a year ago, and only now came about this. It's quite a sight to see a car you would never expect to "handle decently" nail this test so well. Eye opener.

    I was driving this car as a road safety car before the competitors started to avoid people on the track and to watch out that everything is safe for the racedrivers and spectators. This was on the Jännerrallye 2023 in upper Austria. It was the 2.5 Litre petrol with 327hp and 500nm awd (systempower)

    Good looking car, but definetely wrong motor. It takes 18-19 seconds from 100 to 200 kmh. A 1.9 tdi is faster than that 😂

    No the diesel EE20 2008-2010 is the worst engine subaru ever built, the block doesn't offer enough support for the crank shaft so it breaks the crankshaft at about 130000km, engine can be upgrade with a special remanufactured block with additional metal main bearing carriers, this solves the problem at great expense.

      230k km on my 2010 Impreza Boxer Diesel But i have removed the DPF and disabled the EGR from day one....

      @@harrison00xXx yours has done really well, but still has a weak block that could fail no matter about dpf, egr delete as its not a lubrication issue that causes the crankshaft failure.

    Interesting... RWD or AWD does not matter. The vehicle is tested on stability during very hard braking and very hard steering. Watch the video... the brake lights are on 90% of the time meaning drive has absolutely nothing to do with this test. The max speed for the KIA is 78 km/h to complete without failure and the Tesla is 83 km/h.
