Camping with Friends: visiting the Geothermal Spa and Lake Elementaita with hundreds of flamingoes.
After the safari rally (June 2023) we decided to hang back in Naivasha and take it easy, avoiding the rush of everyone heading out and really just existing for a few days.
We spent our first night at the Fish Eagle Camp along Lake Naivasha. On the second day, we headed to the KenGen Geothermal Spa for some much needed relaxation and detox. Lovely lovely place.
We then spent our last night at yet another beautiful location, Kikopey Beach Camp, this time on the shores of Lake Elementaita. At this location, we had hundreds of flamingoes in the Lake in our backdrop. A sight to truly behold.

Great video, just a few things imho it would be nice to have a voice over or commentary to add context and engagement. You should try use a tripod with a good video ball head for smoother panning shots plus it will help keep the horizon level. Anyway I’m just a jealous viewer from a cold UK😊 can’t remember when I last saw the sun….please keep uploading the videos 👌🏾
I actually prefer the absence of narration. It allows the visuals and the soundscape, with its jazzy music and ambient sounds, to tell the story. This minimalist approach creates a unique and engaging viewing experience, though I understand it may not be for everyone. Great job OVERLAND TRADITION!

A Black man enjoying Africa. A Black man enjoying his/our land. An African man living how we as Africans are supposed to be living. Enough tourists and anthropologists coming over to see and study how we used to live. How about we take a long weekend to enjoy nature every now and then as opposed to having outsiders from outside of Africa show us how to enjoy our land. Get your lady to disconnect. You, yourself disconnect. Bring your children. Enjoy nature. Enjoy the land our forefathers fought for. I’m sick and tired of our land being portrayed as something to run away from. Look how beautiful it is.
