I have never felt this nervous about sharing a song before... this one feels mine, if it makes any sense. It’s my song. The one that’s been with me, right with me, when I hit rock bottom. It sat there with me and was my faithful companion. It pulled me out of the most soul-crushing loneliness and sorrow. It numbed my pain. Jimin wrote it inspired by one of his favorite movies, which happens to be one of my favorite movies as well, and from the day of its release it felt like destiny was at work here. I remember reading that email announcement and thinking “no way”. I got a tattoo on my left arm with the handwritten lyrics from Jimin’s personal notebook (it came as a special gift with the album set). That is how much this song means to me. How intensely I love it and feel about it. For all the days, nights, moments ‘Like Crazy’ has been my sole refuge, I am thankful I get to send my own version out into the world. I’ve poured my whole heart and my entire being into this more than you could ever imagine. A friend of mine who listened to it said to me “Jimin would be very proud”, and I admit that made me wish he could see this someday. I hope he will. I hope I could make him proud. ♾️🩷
