In the philippines we have a same similarities of that film, only different the title was dear satan and also the boy was being gender swap here. Instead she's a girl who write to santa. I think the movie was inspired by urban legend from a person or a kid who have a dyslexia so he can't spell santa But we doesn't know if the filipino movie dear satan became controversial because we are came from very conservative and religious country that's why this film was being banned here in the philippines. However, after a few months later there's a new movie here in the usa with same plot twist. Is this a different movie or looks like a plagiarize?! 😂 Disclaimer i'm not a haters of jack black instead i'm huge fan of him. And just because i'm half filipino-asian american it doesn't mean i am defending philippines. Instead i am confused if this movie was a different film or a copy movie. However the philippines was not show yet because of controversies have this film because we already know that philippines came from conservative & very religious country.
