Funny enough now that I’m at this level of gameplay i actually encountered three normal thanators in the same area, do you know how this is possible?

What about using electric short bow, it stuns target for few seconds, i tried it on storm glider.

Is this on hard difficulty? I have a maxed short bow and am level 20. Even with Fury III hitting it in the weak spot won't clean kill it.

It is more asy to use a short bow as you do than a heavy bow so i gonna try that.

Im at max everything. Longbow: 188 Shotgun: 280 AR: 18 Spear: 402 Heavy Bow: 384 Shortbow: 204 Head: 404 Chest: 371 Arm: 315 Waist: 359 Ankle: 316 And im still having trouble. Maybe im not hitting the weakspot right yet but ive only got 1 clean/merciful kill out of like 50 tries

GS mains are somethings that i still don't understand, how can they land those slow attack so correctly and manage to dodge all attacks at the same time ?

Yup, when you suck at Greatsword, this is how you play it.

Another strat is actually ambushing it with a stealth kill. When you enter one of the Thanators spawn areas, as SOON as you see the white border appear, that means the Palulukan(Thanator) has spawned and is on the ground headed towards your rough location. DONT PANIC and simply listen. You will hear about 2-3 growls/roars spread out before it reaches you. IT DOESNT ACTUALLY KNOW WHERE YOU ARE YET! So start orienting yourself towards the sound of its approuch and try and get up on someplace elevated to get a good view and crouch(not to hide but to buy yourself a few more valuable seconds). If you are looking the right way you will actually see it approuching, slowly, scenting the air and looking for you. WARNING, after all my testing, they do seem to have a minimum distance to locatee you so no matter how good your stealth and hiding, if it gets close enough, it locates you automatically(aggroes and the red dot appears above its head and it roars) So the trick is to find it before it finds you and snipe it with the Heavy Bow in its weakspot. I've done it quite a few times. It takes patience and learning how far that automatic aggro range is and working with that to manuver around it and snipe it.

On an interesting note, if you eat a food with "Masked Scent" buff you will not attract Thanators! They will not spawn at all in their hunting grounds! I tested it on all 4 Thanators. Kinda niche for when you want to move freely around their area without fighting them... the only food I know that has that buff so far is Stormglider Stew...(stormglider lean meat/dawnfruit of any quality)
