Not jumbos. Whew, finally got a 9 incher! An American Lake species composition study showed that most were under 10". What Pierce lakes have bigger perch? Lake Washington in King County has some serious jumbos, like 15" plus. Why is the camera always facing the sun?
I've only fished for yellownperch in a AMERICAN and Lake Washington on the westside. I hear Lake Sammamish in King County is good. Yeah, as for the angle of the sun, it wasn't on purpose, I'll try to be better in the future to take the angle into account. I'm glad you got a 9 incher. That's a good one
Great outing, some really nice flounder and crabs..Got yourself some good food! 👊👍
An action-packed day and some delicious food for days.
what time is dinner? lol
5:30 somewhere! Lol
Great dinner bro
It's was pretty darn good!
Great video, man. Lots of good info and tips as well.
Thanks for stopping by John.
Eric is dressed for winter and you're in shorts 😂 , enjoyed the video
You know those central Oregon guys are used to warmer summers. 😆
Nice video the Mr Piscatorian (Jerry ) What part of 11 were you in Jerry I crabbed out also with my buddy and every time we got our limited amount of dungeon crab, a few red rock, but mostly dungeons lots of over 7 inches and 8 inches nice crab
Eastside of vashion by tramp harbor. It was pretty good with big crab but started to get fished out. I'm glad you crushed it out there, that's awesome stuff for sure. Thanks for dropping in, tight lines!
@@ThePiscatorian360 your welcome sir Next year when you want to go crabbing let me know I will tell you at the boat ramp near the ferry dock I guarantee you’ll get your limit in two pulls
The Piscatorian is a good teacher!!
Thanks
Nice video. I use to catch those San dabs but never ate them. Always catch and release. Next time I catch them I’ll have to give them a try.
Yeah just look that the bellies make sure there are no visible parasites. Then I just scale them, and remove the guts. I will then coat in seasoned flour and pan fry in browned butter. You can fillet and fry for fish tacos but that's more work! 🤣
What’s the best crab pier that you know? For us without a boat, if there is one.
Try at night using lights in shallow water and a gig, make sure it's legal were you live good way to find em
South sound probably les davis. Up north deception pass state park marina, and honestly driving out to westport and dropping rings off the dock can be great
Nice!
Thanks!
nicely done, always try to watch the videos when i get the notification. Keep em coming my friend. Love it
Thanks for the support!
Do you find this a value added mod? I am always on the fence about installing one of these on my 15 pro kicker
I do for sure.I had a situation where we were dealing with wind and chop while fighting a fish. The boat turned just enough the wrong way, and the downrigger cable got in the prop and wrapped up. It's not a fun situation when on the sound. Having a prop guard will prevent that from happening. Also, if you are doing any river runs, it will protect you there as well. I bought it so as not to get a cable caught in the prop again. It's not a situation that occurs a lot, but once was enough for me.
Can't wait for next season. This was my first year, so lots of learning and gear lost with only one keeper. Hopefully next year I can swing that ratio a bit in my favor.
That's awesome! Glad ro hear you got a nice keeper. Losing gear happens. I've lost my fair share That's for sure. Hope you have a great season next year. I will have a few more salmon videos coming out soon of previous trips.
was this lost footage?
No, just busy in life lately. Finally, I got around to editing. Have a few more I need to get edited.
Oh okay.
I want to hook a good size king this next year. Good job my friend
Yeah, somtimes the 10 to 15lbers fight like they are much larger, though. I've caught some lazy big salmon in the past.
I just got some nice crappie there on Saturday morning. Three right off the bat about 50 feet from teh boat launch. Used a 1/32 jig head with a plastic whip tail shad. Three decent perch along with it.
That's awesome! Nice work
Catching those clams always looks like so much fun! 👊👍
It's a kittle bit of worj but it's a blast
Great catch of nice and big clams and great cooking too looked delicious, tight lines, thumbs up and greetings,, Tony.
Thanks Tony!
Nice haul out there. Those necks make good bait I've heard for the surfperch. 👍
Yeah they are supposed to be great for that.
Some of those clams were huge! Looked like a good time.
The boys got some good ones!
Nice harvest and great job on the cooking.
Thanks John, it was a fun day!
Hey bro, it was nice running into you the other day, what an awesome guy, keep up the good work
Thank you, I will try do my best, have a fantastic day!
Nice job my friend, I "DIG" the video. LOL
@@RobertStephens-xf9cv I see what you did there! 😆
Most informational video i have ran across.
Thanks for the feedback, I hope it helps. Making jigs is fun.
Take me out salmon fishing!! The season has been closed the last two years here in California 😔 Some beautiful fish 🎣 🍣
Yeah, that's rough not having a salmon fishery. They need to address those water issues down there. Hopefully, you will get a season again. I'm thankful we can still catch them up here. Thanks for watching!
HI I just commented on the Black Lake video. Maybe I should go out in the winter months. I was just at Offut, and it was dead.
I have done decent during the winter months there.
Hello I have fished Black Lake and Offut, Black Lake more than Offut since I do well at Black Lake. Offut just seems so shallow, while the water appears murky. Per acre Offut should have more fish, but it certainly does not show on the catch rate. I was wondering what your experiences were or had an opinion Offut vs. Black Lake.
I smash them pretty good at offut 15-19ft deep on a downrigger trolling. Fish the shoreline going right out of the launch and also the deeper part straight out of the launch
@@ThePiscatorian360 I did that , same area using pink wiggle hoochies. The water went to glass at 5pm on Sunday. Nothing was coming in on sonar. I did only fish from 330 to 530. 🤷♂️
@@ThePiscatorian360 do you rum electric troll? I hadn't so who knows if I spooked them
@olympiawashdrummer I usually fish it in the mornings. Could have been an off day too.
@olympiawashdrummer kicker, my bow mount is on it's last legs
I'm super impressed that you know about ikejime. Most westerners have no idea. You're a true seafood expert! Say, you wouldn't have any octopus footage of you catching octopus, that you could share, would you? I would love to include it in my upcoming takoyaki video (which I'm editing right now), and draw some attention to your channel, if you're cool with it. Cheers! =)
I actually do not unfortunately. I would catch babies sometimes squid jigging but havent been out the last two years for squid. I need to try and go this year
@@ThePiscatorian360 Okay, no biggie. I was just asking. Cheers, man! =)
@Maplecook i appreciate you looking out!
Nice DOUBLE catch, from almost dropping that fish! haha
Right sometimes they get away. I had one go back in the water once. 🤣
@@ThePiscatorian360 Joe over at Live2fish told me that he has re-caught the same fish a few times, after release. That blows my mind. haha
Man, i need to get a boat. Shore fishing just isn't happening. 3 years in a row trying everything i can just can't seem to catch one.
Try the beach at deception pass state park. Can throw jigs. Guys have been getting coho there I heard.
Do you ever taker your boat out of Puget Sound? Like Barkley, Tofino, Nootka and the like?
No I have never taken the boat up there. Maybe one day.
We gotta fish my friend. Going back out tomorrow for a try.
You're going to get them!
Nice! Sometimes when they pop the clip but don’t seem there I just let it sit for a half a min or so and let it rise. Sometimes they follow it up and take it after the action has changed from it being unclipped. Nice job!
@ThatPNWGuy2024 2nd chance hook ups I like it.
Thanks for the video! I assume for jeff head you launch out of kingston? Any suggestion on when to launch before it gets to crowded on the weekends? Was thinking of getting to the launch around 6:30am?
I actually ran from pt defiance. When I trailer up I usually launch at shilshol and I get there an hour to an hour and a half before sunrise to beat most of the folks hard to park the trailer on when there are a lot of rigs in that small parking lot. Then I will either float on the dock or out in the bay till it's time to hit the spots.
@@ThePiscatorian360 ahh, I figured it must get crazy! Going to see if I can get the kids out this weekend. Looks like we will be getting up early! Thank you
@BennettBuilt-yu2gw the ocean coho are everywhere right now, jeffs, meadow point, west point. But a shallow shot gun rid out 1st thing just behind the prop wash and one or two on the rigger if you got 3 or more. You will get them.
@@ThePiscatorian360 awesome thank you for this extra information! We are actually right near Manchester launch and I was debating if trying to fish around Blake island would be worth it? I heard there’s a hump by the southworth ferry to vashon area that holds fish?
@BennettBuilt-yu2gw havent tried coho there personally. I know they are at redondo. Only one way to find out, try it.
Hell, yeah always good to see you out there man on the water catching some hos. I caught both my fish that day on a green UV flasher white Hoochie 28 inch leader 25 foot back 110 feet down. Those K Brock rods are looking pretty sweet. 🤙🏻
Yeah, man, the white hoochie is battle tested out there! I need to make another trip out before it's over.
Nice day to be on the water and chase them Cohos, land a few and enjoy the day, thanks for the trip, thumbs up and greetings from NZ,, Tony.
Yeah, it was good to get some fresh salmon on board.
I was very frustrated with kings that day. :)
Right, kept catching hatchery kings that we have to let go.
Way to stack some cohos! Thanks for sharing this great trip and tight lines my friend! Captain Zac
Thanks Zac it was a fun way to get the season started.
Hell yeah nice looking day. Damn them pesky Coho always popping off at the surface, man those rod’s sure look nice. Awesome video captain ⚓️😎
Those coho like to give you the high fin as they get off. 😆 the k brock rods are sweet. Excited to be part of the team.
Nice job
Thanks!
@@ThePiscatorian360 we’re headed out the next four days to fish area 13. Need at least a few more lbs of eggs for steelhead so hoping for some hatch hens.
@ThatPNWGuy2024 good luck its been a ling time since I fished 13 but I remember fish trap area being productive around now. Tight lines!
@@ThePiscatorian360 That’s where we are gonna be. We limited both days we got out two weeks ago. Hopefully it’s a repeat. Cheers!
Always so much fun going for those stripers! 👍👊
Sure is!
Great fishing trip and a few beauties landed too today, thanks for the trip, thumbs up, tight lines and greetings from NZ,, Tony.
Don’t feel bad I had the same thing happen to me with my Honda 10hp, I now bolt on every time!
Yeah one of those, this will never happen again moments. 😆
What causes the unitrolls to drop slowly, like it’s fetching up on something?
In my experience, usually the spool is cracked. I'd check that 1st. Need to remove the cable to look at it properly. Can send to cannon warranty center as that part should be covered.
Pretty sweet looking trap, next video has to be catching and cooking some a them bad boys up.
Yeah I have been in a long while. I will have to try and go!
I made one like this but when we coned in the holes they were much smaller like 3 1/2-4 fingers width,,,, have you caught any yet? I go this Thursday here in Colorado
Yeah, I went a little large with the hole. I have caught some in it. I should do another video with it in action.
way small
Glad you got one back!
Yeah, likewise. I did get a call on the second from a guy letting me know he found hust the bouys. Line snapped. I told him he can paint and reuse as I reolaced one setup already.
Love popgear
