Regarding your latest video concerning the wheel steering option on the J-99: I am from Rochester NY and have sailed on the local J-99 with a wheel steering system, and there is a concern. When sailing, either upwind or down, there is a burble sound from the transom, water doesn't flow smoothly off the bottom. The edge of the transom is in the water and the water flows around the transom, making a sound. Personally, I have a J-22 in a one-design fleet in Canandaigua NY and I know that when the water isn't flowing smoothly behind the boat, but is instead burbling up around the edge of the transom, I know the boat is going slow and other guys will sail by me, soon. Immediate adjustment of the bodies aboard the boat is required, right now. I haven't sailed on a J-99 with a tiller, so I don't know if it is possible to get the transom out of the water, but we couldn't do it by adjusting personnel on a wheel steered boat, assuming that the driver still is positioned behind the wheel. We (like everyone else) need a bigger one design fleet of these boats to allow further experimentation and tweaking to get better boat speed. Doing well in a handicap fleet, PHRF, ORC, whatever, just doesn't provide the needed feedback.

You might be wondering why this content hasn't received much attention. You want to introduce this new yacht, do so however with just a film, stupid music and no commentary. Hundreds of other UA-cam channels do the same and also get near to zero attention. Please make it at least interesting and not jus another "boring" walkaround. Meant well.

An good interview. Good to hear Jules state the importance of a dinghy racing background. I think J boats could do more to prepare boats to have 2H/1H setup systems installed as standard alongside the fully crewed layout. The most surprising change was a smaller main, they clearly did the calculations on the sails v ratings.
