I tried using a picture of myself to trick face unlock on galaxy devices by taking a photo with the actual front camera of my phone and then sending it to my tablet. It didn't work several times and my phone disabled biometrics every few attempts. I think that its secure enough but perhaps isn't fast enough as face id on iphones or pixels.

FAN-tastic review. I appreciate your depth of knowledge and honesty . I still own a Surface Pro 4 that I stopped using 2 years ago when I literally cracked the screen. I stopped using it , but a week ago decided to boot it up . I fell back in love with The Surface Pro, and I want to purchase this Surface Pro ( 11 Edition ). The ARM issue caused me to pause because this will be my daily driver. I'm not a gamer and hardly use the Google Drive . What would you ( or anyone else in the comments ) suggest?

    Only 15" MBP you should buy is a maxed out 2019 one with 32GB of RAM, a 2.4GHz i9, a Vega 20, and a 4TB SSD. They can be found for around $1000 on eBay right now. But i'd rather go with a 16" 2.4GHz i9, 64GB, 8TB, 5600M model for $2200

Try heating up those rubber strips with a hair dryer; that will soften the adhesive and make removal easier and safer. Start at one end; once it's soft, lift up and then continue heating and gently lifting until the strip comes free.

T4 Torx for me. I've watched a number of similar videos and they usually recommend the T3 however, a number of people have stripped the head of the screw. I suspect that the T3 is recommended because it does fit. It's just that it doesn't fit as well as the T4. So, if you do have a T4 Torx, start with that and only use the T3 if the T4 is too big.

I've been scouring UA-cam for the last couple of weeks watching every single video reviewing or regarding the Lenovo Duet 5. I have to say out of the 500 plus videos I have watched regarding the Lenovo Duet 5, your video is easily the best of all of them. For a number of reasons, the first among them being the tenor of your voice, the pace at which you speak, your excellent diction (I just realized I sound like my second grade school teacher, Sister Mariette), and the easy conversational tone with which you speak. You covered all of the bases very well and it is clear that you thought about what you were going to say and structured it beforehand. Quite a few tech reviews put out some pretty wild slop, lol, neither educating nor informing consumers about the subject tech at hand. Thanks for putting yourself out there, the end result is really viable reviews. I anticipate your subscribe ship will rocket over time has more consumers become aware of the competence and value of your reviews

I just picked an MBP 16" 2019 i7 base model, coming from a 15" mid 2012 MBP Retina. I find it great, more powerful than I need for what I do now: social media, graphic design and advertising (up to two fold newspaper ads at 300DPI and a video here and there. I use the Adobe Suite and FCP. Ok, a Macbook Air M1 is faster! BUT I doubt I'd see any big difference on what I do. One, two seconds on a heavy Photoshop card for Instagram? Maybe. But I much prefer this MBP's 16" screen than the Air's 13". Not to mention the form size, speakers, number of ports. AND this machine has FANS! Big ones, by the way. It'll keep on pushing while the Air is slowing down - and it does, as you can check on many videos. So, I believe this machine will be worth for a long time. I actually only moved from my 15" because of MacOS and software linked updates to newer Mac OS versions - unsupported by that machine, of course... It still works very nicely for what I do and I will keep it. I picked a 3.1 gen 2 USB-C Essager hub with SSD (WD Black SN770 1T) and it has very nice transfer rates (read and write around 900 MB/s) that allow me to edit video from it. Overall I'm very happy with this 16" i7. I didn't pick the i9 because I believe then heating might becoma an unnecessary issue. The i7 is doing VERY fine. Oh, the touch bar could've gone further if it had been more explored, I guess. Looks like a good idea no one knew exactly what to to with it and didn't wanted to let others give it a better function... Shame, Apple... Oh II: regarding the keyboard, the 16" has a better one, really. But the best is still the one from the Retina. Here are my two cents. Thanks for sharing your thought on these late Intel Macs.

I have this model. Nothing but issues. We have IT support fixing this thing nearly every month. Here are the main problems. Random driver issues with 802.11 connection. Bootup issues. Very slow. Blank screen comes up for minutes and then overall processing speed decline. Random software crashes for Autocad on files of any size. Even small. Camera issues. Some web meetings the camera is inoperable. Probably 20% of them fail. Random issue. And because all these issues are random they are nearly impossible to fix. Previously had the Dell 5510. 100% more reliable. I would never buy this thing. So much down time and IT attention it's a joke.

Intel processors still cut their processing power in half when removed from a wall socket, whereas the ARM chips do not. The processing figures you see are for battery or wall power. The Lunar Lake processor is just too under-powered. Don't get me wrong, I will be buying an Arrow Lake desktop for intense work and gaming, but Lunar Lake is like a poor i3 of old. Since ARM now seems to run the primary software I need, as well as VPN and anti-virus, why wait for a poorly performing Lunar Lake?

The retail price is high if you want 1TB/32GB and OLED: over £2100 in the UK before you buy the pen and keyboard for another £400. The non-OLED X Plus is still expensive for a base 128GB. However, it is a niche product with few competitors, so MS can milk Surface Pro fans at a high price. I returned mine because the battery life could have been better, and the OLED display seemed worse than some I have seen on other Windows laptops. I went for the Surface Laptop instead and love the IPS display, keyboard, and trackpad for office work. It is a much better device than the Surface Pro 11, in my opinion.

The ports are a real disappointment. My old surface rt 2 could connect a port adapter, and I could run HDMI through it in addition to the mouse dongle and so on. These new surfaces are really stingy on the most basic features. I love the surface, but it has become such a pretentious device. They are now charging top dollar, and that would be fair enough if they were providing a product that could perform, but they don't. They are just cheap!

    • @innoiso

watched the video, awesome to see Microsoft going in this direction, i do miss Windows on tablet using the Macbook Air and it does sound like , in a few more iterations, this will be the device to go for. After using the Macbook trackpad, my surface trackpad (diving board type) is underwhelming at best.... also the keyboard lives up to the hype on the Macbook..... but i still much prefer Windows to Mac OS. The ports too, stupidly close together on the Macbook meaning I often can't use both. Then there is of course the touchscreen, boy do i miss that on Mac. I can see why the M1 chip was such a big deal and why Apple went all in, there's always the question of how seriously Microsoft will do also (as you alluded to in your video). 1 Question, the intergration with IOS and being able to use the Macbook to reply to txt's, it is as seamless on Windows? it's something i use everyday...

Although I do consider myself somewhat of a surface fan (loooooved my 8, like it still) I'm totally not inclined to upgrade it. I just don't get the direction they're trying to improve in, or at least it is not for me. For me what needs improving is 1) gaming, 2) inking. 1) You still can't game on it at all it seems. It should at least have the performance of the steam deck for me, but it's really far from that. Sure, it's a pro device, not for gaming, but hey... 2) Inking doesn't seem improved at all or even a thing anymore? (Onenote for instance has not had any updates for three years or so, and you still can't even buy softer tips for the surface pen 2 afaik). Would love a paper feel screen on a surface. (rough screen protectors don't do it at all...) So it seems they're only slowly improving battery life and fan noise, which is nice of course, but it's not what makes the surface a better surface for me.

Quick question about this from years later! For the display connection, did it just require one with a 30-pin edp cable, or were there further complications? Planning a similar project w/ an old ThinkPad and this video has already been a huge help :)

It was a great device, but very limiting (and honestly) terrible software. I'm currently in the process of trying to hack it and install raspberry os

Tengo el pixel fold y el one plus open. El pixel es mi móvil favorito. Me gusta mucho más que el fold pro 9

You never answered the question you started out with in the beginning. Were you able to get down to just one phone by using a fold.

Damn bro having returned two MacBooks (m1 and m2) because the displays give me eye strain I wish I could do this. Nothing beats that apple silicon for laptop use. IDK why they went with these terrible displays.

Honestly if there was a laptop with a good screen that just allowed you to input hdmi from MacBook mini I would be cool with that (but those are hard to find). And then you are also dealing with how to connect the laptop keyboard and touchpad and everything else to MacBook mini.

What about a ram upgrade from 4gb to 16gb?
