Father of 4 here. Congrats man. 2nd kid is a game-changer. You learn how little control you have over your kids outcomes, and how much really is just genetics. Our first kid was REALLY hard, and the second kid was MUCH easier. So I learned that the first kid wasn't hard bc I was a terrible dad. He was hard because some kids have more needs! Also, 12 hours by 12 weeks (Book on sleep training. That plus ferber = sleep success = some sense of boundaries in your life as a parent = mental health intact).

It's none of my business but I think you miss US and being childless and now you are stuck with two but you have to be happy because that's what everybody expects from you. You can love your children and still contemplate your choices.

The first kid was impossibly hard for us. The second was even worse. Honestly when my wife told me I was filled with a mixture of bewilderment, fear, and joy. It was a weird feeling for both of us. I hope you have help and support in your family in Australia. You'll need it.

Congratulations! We had our first 2 kids close together and I feel the "oh frick why are we doing this?!" while also being excited. I have to say I misheard you when you said you found a studio close to home in case there's a murder scene as "i found a new studio close to home and it was cheap as it was a murder scene!" 🤣 (Also you could just say the coffee table was minimalist as legs are just clutter!! 😄)
