Eternity being neither existence nor non existence presents desire, from which all things that are, and all things that are not follow. (Rigveda). Buddhism draws from this same tradition, शुन्यत (shunyata) in the Buddhist tradition is the "void" empty, neither existence nor non existence. Desire (gravity in physics), manifests the karma (action) of all things that are and all things that are not. Gravity (desire) illuminated by photons (consciousness) are constants, timeless, karma (action) is the experience of time as cause and effect. Dharma is desire (gravity) becoming conscious (illuminated by photons). Maya is the experience of time. Similarly, the ☯️, symbolizes the sphere in which photons and gravity dance to the experience of consciousness.

Saw an enthusiastic plagiarist's comment. Where he said karma and eternal reincarnation theory came from Buddhism. Corrrect yourself. It came from Hinduism and u people copied it so blatantly and even goes on saying straight up lies. There goes buddhas teaching of non stealing in the mud. But I forgive You. In normal circumstances i would not even have cared about that but in this age of identity crisis we have to protect what little knowledge we have otherwise that would be overthrown by lies, immorality etc. I have no problem with buddhism infact i respect buddha for showing the wrongs in our dharma and Buddhism is the closest dharma we can rely on after hinduism as the root and thr core values, traditions are same.

We are born because of greed, hate and Ignorance, we survive because of taking things and defending things. A teaching that promises an end to these drives sounds like stupidity and death to our egos. We will naturally be averse to it while greedily clinging to the familiar, such is our ignorance. ✌🏻🧡 P.S. Until we gain fruit from following the Path and eventually no longer need it.

Buddhism as described by you is close to discussions I’ve had with Buddhist priests and ministers. However many branches of Buddhism are closer to Abrahamic and other religions where the central figure(s) are the conduit to heaven. I’d even go farther and say a majority of Buddhists are taught there definitely is an afterlife. Is this a subject you might be interested in discussing?

The creature of everything is a mystery. Nobody knows how it began or whether it always existed in one form or another. I suspect Siddhartha would have held similar views to the views he had towards gods. But that’s speculation on my part.

This is frankly extremely Western to make a statement like Buddhism is the only scientific religion. Buddhism is not in the business of gaining converts or proving its way is perfect and all-knowing. Westerners get this from their culture that is heavily influenced by Abrahamic religions.

Thank you for sharing your interesting perspective on this profound Buddhist concept. Let me help articulate an answer to the question "If there is no self in Buddhism, then what gets reborn?" The apparent paradox of rebirth without a self (anatta) in Buddhism can be understood by examining the nature of what we perceive as "self." The Buddha taught that there is no permanent, unchanging self or soul. What we think of as our "self" is actually a collection of emotional experiences, desires, fears, and attachments, we can break this down into key points: 1. The illusion of self comes from our emotional experiences: - What we perceive as "self" is actually our emotional reactions and attachments - These emotions create a strong sense that there must be a permanent "someone" experiencing them - But this feeling of self is a result of our emotional behavior, not evidence of a true, permanent self 2. Understanding through the lens of mind: - As through Freud's model, we can think of the mind as having both emotional (id) and rational (ego) aspects - The Buddha taught us to use our rational understanding to observe and control emotional reactions - This requires developing higher awareness and wisdom 3. The mechanism of rebirth: - It's not a permanent self or soul that gets reborn - Rather, it's the continuous flow of emotional patterns, attachments, and karmic impressions - These mental patterns and tendencies carry forward, creating the conditions for rebirth - The process is more like one candle lighting another - the flame continues but there's no permanent "essence" transferred 4. The ultimate realization: - Through intellectual and meditative understanding, we can see that what we call "self" is actually a process rather than an entity - The world appears full of seemingly solid selves because of our emotional engagement with experiences - True understanding reveals that there is no permanent, independent existence - This was the profound insight the Buddha pointed to This understanding resolves the apparent contradiction: rebirth occurs not because a self transmigrates, but because patterns of emotional attachment and karmic causes and conditions continue until they are fully understood and released through wisdom.

I am a convinced Buddhist since over 50 years. I understand some of Oshos critics, and some points are imho really true. Similar as Christian religion in Europe is far from what Jesus had in mind, also is Buddhism in Asia slipped into institutionalisation and rituals. For example the figure of Avalokiteshvara = Guan-Yin= Guan-sä-ym-bosal= Kanseon, this is in contradiction to pure original teachings. It gives few sense to go into a Korean temple, light a candle and pray "Buddha please help us, my father is sick". Buddha or Guan-sä-ym-bosal is not somewhere in heaven and helps us. This idea of a big brother in heaven is understandable but illusion. It works in a different way. Buddhas existence-philosophy and its understanding, together with the 8-fold path of making your life, that gives us the best-possible comfort and help. Alltogether, I don't find any statements from Osho which would put Buddhas teachings BASICALLY into question or discredit him. We should be open to objective and well-founded criticism to keep Buddha's teachings clean and original. I am also faced with Christian fanatism, which tell me "Buddha is the devil himself! If you follow him you go to hell!" SUCH critics I simply ignore, don't even invest time in a reply.

I'm fortunate enough to met an Arahant Enlightened Buddhist Monk named Venerable Bana Bhante ( Forest Monk), 1920-2012, during the early 1990s in Rangamati, Chittagong Hill Tracts, Bangladesh, at His renowned Raj Bana Monastery. During the sermon, He used to tell the audience, to attain Nirvana, we must need to follow Lord Buddha's teachings, advice and knowledge to free our mind, thoughts from three poisons/impurities, namely, greed, hatred and ignorance. Then, we can understand 3 characteristics of existence, namely, impermanence (Anitta), sufferings (Dukkha,) and no-self (Anatta). For instance, i] when we can realise the impermanence nature of all living beings and their belongings, then, our mind can naturally become free from unnecessary cravings/attachments/ greed. All we alive today, 100 years time from now, we are all dead. This is called impermanence. ii) In this world, there is only 1 percent happiness and the rest 99 percent sufferings. Birth is suffering, sickness is suffering, old age and death is suffering. In Nirvana, there is 100 percent permanent happiness. Realising this ultimate truth, our mind harbour no hatred towards any living beings (seen & unseen). iii) According to Lord Buddha, there is no permanent self entity or soul amongst living beings. On the basis of good or bad karma throughout a person's life and subsequent thought process at the time of death can immediately determine the next level of existence. So , the person can either reborn in heaven or hell, human, animal/birds, ghosts and asura (woeful) states (realms), Although, no realms are permanent, venerable Bana Bhante said we must solely focus on either devas (heaven) or human realms at the time of death, if we are unable to attain Nirvana during our life time. Because, these two realms are the only favourable existence to practice triple gem (Buddha , Dharma, Sangha) until we attain Nirvana. Hence, our minds and thoughts are free from ignorance. Finally, to attain Nirvana, one must need to be knowledgeable with Five Precepts, Four Noble Truths, Noble Eightfold Paths and the law of dependent origination (12 factors or conditions for repeated births). These are the essence of Buddha's teachings. Buddha once told Ananda : not knowing the 4 noble truths and the law of dependent origination, beings are born repeatedly in woeful states like animals, birds, ghosts, demons, asuras, hells. If we follow Buddha's teachings, we're always going to be wise, rich and happy until we attain the highest wisdom Nirvana, May all beings be free and happy.

Now Buddhists want to kill all Muslim children. The mass murder of Palestinian children caused Palestine life expectancy to go from 76 years old in 2023 to 42 years old now. Buddhists people want to take life expectancy of humans to 35 years old like how Buddha wants it to be. F*cxxk Buddhism. A bunch of immoral scums!
