Bruh but why is your Kick quieter than the 808 in your mixer? I always make sure my kick is 3-6DB louder than my 808. Your mixer shows your kick quieter than your 808. Ive never seen this before. Do you pre level in your channel strip to make sure each sound is not going above a certain db? I always mix everything to -12 or -9 DB in my channel strip. Then i level everything to where i want the sounds to be in the mixer channel. Since my kick/808 are hitting -12DB i make sure the 808 is at least -3 to -6 DB quieter than the kick

Terrible advice actually, cause it will make the 808 sound weaker. Eq cut a bit of lows from the kick and phase it so it doesn't cancel out the 808 and then use compression to control the volume

Anyone recording metal, you also do this for guitars to give it that professional sound. And no, you can't just duplicate a single recording. It has to be two separate recordings over each other. Duplicating a single guitar track will make it louder and could cause clipping.
