most accurate explanation of the rx8 ive seen so far, my partner has a mazda rx8 and it is by far one of my favourite cars, it looks good its perfect for a cruise. We have had quite a few troubles with it lately but we found out it was a replaceable write off so it explains the problems it has had, the clutch has just started slipping nearly completely so that needs to be replaced but other then the small issues its such a well driving car and i love it

the d4f 16 valve engine has +20 more hp + 15 more nm torque, and it really does pull hard when you floor it in 2nd gear lol, but i always feel like the car runs out of gears when i drive past 70 mph, it does want to keep going, atleast if you have the 80 hp variant.

Iv got 2005 rx8 has done 147k miles starts first go cold or hot only problems iv had is engine check light that been on for 15 years and it stop starting when was hot I got a heavy duty starter motor and that problem now gone but I change my oil every 7k miles and coolant every 12 months coils and plugs 3 years it my daily driver good car

I Love this Car. I think it Looks cool especially with a little Bit of Tuning and i want to buyone but todays price in Germany is 8-10 tausend € for a 70 tausend Miles Or 100 tausend km Model. And i Tried to Google a Bit about engine Swaps and rebuilds and the only Thing i could find where prices of 4000€ and i have No Idea how to find an actual Mechanik WHO would Invest time in rebuilding an engie or is even capable of doing that. So i dont know If its worth. Again i would get a model Got 70k Miles and thats the Miles where the Car IS mostly in its death bed and that goes for 8000€. If the engine Breaks inprobbaly need to Invest 4 Grand of Not more in a new engine and Then in maybe Things that Break too. Then the Tuning pieces. That Shit could Go Up to 16 tausend € really quick. Thats really Not cheap.

$2000 for a rebuild? Not in Australia!!! Down here you need to allow 7-8k for a rebuild. Australia is probably the most expensive country in the world to live

Did you know that you can actually sleep in the car? If you pull the rear seats to the back, front all the way to the front, remove the front headrests and recline all the seats, you have two relatively flat beds in a 3.4m long car. It's the best tent you could ever wish for. I have a '05 black 43kW with electric windows, electric mirrors and a glass sunroof and I absolutely love it.

I think the BIGGEST thing you should do with this car, isn't a good premix routine, but do an E85 conversion. E85 burns cooler, and both cleans the engine from carbon as it burns oil by design, and doesn't produce carbon itself like gasoline. And the carbon build up is the biggest killer of these type of engines. Plus you can make a bit more power under E85. It already has bad MPGs, so whats a few less. You just don't want it to sit for too long as E85 is hydroscopic... as in it absorbs water and that can cause problems if you're not driving the car.

Yea you can brag all you want about how good the RX-8 is, in reality you will be bankrupt with the overall maintenance if you intend on using this car on a weekly basis per say. Let me sum up why Mazda hasn’t come out with any other Rotary engine cars since this was released, (what is it 13 years ago now, the last RX-8 was 2011). Rotary engines are cool sure because they are unique compared to every other engine build, but they consume oil extremely fast, horrible on fuel economy compared to a V8 engine, they are extremely costly just to regularly service. They don’t make much horsepower from comparison of any other normally built engine.

There are many classic cars that aren't too expensive or soon to be classic. I have several of them. Six of them are older than 1995 and I not even paid more than 4000€ for all of them together. Go for the unappriciated cars. Mitsubishi build some wicked cars in the 80s and 90s which are very reliable (my 1988 model still has it's original belts on) a lot of fun to drive, light, repairable and a very exclusive classic car and still not expensive. Also very cheap insurance. If you want luxury, go for a W210 Mercedes. Look out for rust but other than that mechanically very reliable if you avoid the 102 and 125hp first generation CDi engines. 115 and 143hp are already second generation CDi. The list goes on.
