It's for free. You're obviously doing it wrong. There are a load of free Amps and Cabs. Youre using the ones that arent. If you read the instructions it'll tell you how it works.

Unfortunately, Apisonic's own free version (Speedrum LITE) does not read the soundbanks that come with this one (Speedrum BE). Renaming file extensions also doesn't help.
iirc this plugin has no pan knob. So if you modulate pan with lfo, than disable it and sound stays in the right or left ear, you can't bring it back to the center.
Please contact the developer about this bug.

There is no adsr but you can change the start and end points of the sample and fade in and out
