We went to Colombia in middle of October. We spent the first two weeks in Medellin. Then we traveled to Cali for salsa. Then 2 weeks in Cartagena where I scuba dived got my padi ticket in Colombia. After Cartagena we went north past Santa Marta and spent some time in hostels. In total we spent 2 months in Colombia.

Working at height - Sash window frame painting
Переглядів 9786 місяців тому
In this video I’m using rope access to paint some window frames. I had to abseil with the paint as there was no scaffolding at the back of the building. I had a lovely cup of tea on the ropes which one of the residents made me. I was using an external gloss white paint which went on nicely. All the frames were prepped the day before so all I needed to do was give it a wipe down. A short video b...
Devon 2023

Hello guys, it’s Grasscutter here . I found some footage from our trip from last year. We went down to Devon and camped in a field for 2 nights. Tensions were high as I left the tent open during a rain storm letting the sleeping bag soak up all the water. We went to the town of Bideford which was a bit boring with not too much to do there apart from having a pasty . Once we got back to the tent...

I am level 2 RAT. I am working in London uk abseiling building in my orange suit. The building is 70 meters tall. The repair is a standard splice procedure to make sure the expansion joint is in the right place - otherwise bricks pop off when the building wobbles. An expansion joint allows the building to naturally wiggle and not crumble . However this building was poor constructed so we will h...

Indesit describes the usage as ‘from 12 litres’😊
I am very old and have spent too much of my life contemplating the broccoli question. Grasscutter, you are my saviour. Thank you. My other unanswered question from this video is ‘ do Swindon really have a football team?😂😂😂
Thankyou for being such an avid viewer. I appreciate you! Yes Swindon does have a team. You say that you are old, when you retire I will take you to one of their games. Now that’s motivation.
6:10 ..definitely needed one more point of attachment above the croll , to support the transition into the decender. Hand ascender would work , with lanyard cliped in ..both of your cowtails were ocupied ,one could have been adjusted..
Well I pray to join your team please 🙏
How many hours did you do this repair?
Excellent Music choice. Great video
Looks like a great trip 😊
If that is 70m then a mobile crane and 2 man bucket would have been better
In theory yes but where are you going to put a crane in an occupied residential complex?
@@Grasscutter69 where they are working the road is empty maybe shut because of them. TBH not sure what they were doing taking out wool but putting bricks in after, possibly could be done from inside.
I miss the boat videos 😢
Great stage clearing 😊
Fucking mad
kudos sir. impressive work! we must be grateful for people like you, heroes of soceity
So nice of you
Houses for the slaves
may sound like a dumb question to you guys but why not just perform the job from the inside of the condo?
There is no access, would have to take out floors and walls which would be one hell of a mess
what do you do if you drop one of the screws?
Hope it doesn’t hit someone or a car in the road. The site manager should of set up A suitable exclusion zone
Correct me if i am wrong , but transitions from rope to rope has to be 4 points of attachment 😉
If you want to pass your IRATA course yes ;)
If you were in army you could use only one rope 😉
If you were in army you could use only one rope 😉
@ just wrap it around my body and lower myself down
I’d want more than that flimsy thin rope holding my ass up there
Robots can have this job bro 😂
Robots don’t have the balls to do this
Luckily I have UA-cam to document it
What a life you lead 😂
😂😂😂😂😂 very funny How you all survived is a mystery
What's your trade if you don't mind me asking, I'd like to get into rope access would my level 3 joinery work well?
Tradeless, yes there will be some work where your trade will be beneficial but most of the time you work with metal, bricks, plastic or glass
Was this during the working day? Did you not get into shit from the boss?
Are those red bags cushions just in case you fall? Great work man -Godspeed, stay safe out there.
Nope, I don’t plan on falling
Why were you taking off the cladding? And what was the guy doing at the end?
We were identifying where the expansion gaps were. Most of them were in the wrong place
I recommend throwing a second back up device on the other set of ropes before moving between anchor points. I personally like to throw my hand ascender with footloop on the new main-line after I have it in the chest ascender. Great video and great work!
Yes there are ways to improve that rope transfer
@ heard that, I could count a million ways I need to improve. Stay safe out there brother
Wow No ropes 😂
Looking to do my irata in the coming weeks. How much was all your safety gear or is it provided by the company ?
My safety gear was supplied by the company I worked for but it will cost £850 minimum all in
Love this skill am interested
I hope well paid
Peanuts
love watching Can lads posting videos and doing rope transfers wrong, surprised you didn't get a bollocking for that.
Can Lads do much worse than this
@@Grasscutter69 I know I'm one of them
👍
There is not enough money in the world that could get me to do that.
Did you have previous experience as a painter or window cleaner?
Hello mate, i from asia have irata L1 with 100 hours experience windows cleaning. Can i work at UK with rope access company there?
Yes you can, companies are looking for window cleaners
@@Grasscutter69 thats cool, by the way what your personal social media? Hope i can ask anything about the job there. Tq
@@iskandarhafidz-z1n GrasscutterTV @tiktok
Just imagine that taco bell hittin' while up there
Seems like you could have done that from inside :)
imo. dropping something from that height is far scarier than anything when it comes to this kind of work lmao
Personally I’m more worried about falling to my death than dropping tools but yes you are right
@@Grasscutter69 fair enough. i trust my gear and respect the height
Wonderful job professionally done. there is so much better than I can learn from this one singular video
Glad it was helpful!
Nah, couldn't pay me enough to do this.
reminds me of operation federation day from COD ghosts
Hell no. Hellllll no
Warehouse job not looking so bad anymore.
“Hun, hows there a footprint on the outside of the window?”
nice work. I use rope access for roof work but have never went over the side fr 2 reasons: 1. the ropes would be pulling down on the guttering and would probably damage it 2. how do I get back up again to get tools etc?
Sometimes you would need to remove the gutter but luckily I didn’t need to. There is a climbing device on the harness and we typically take all the tools we need with us to save climbing up
@@Grasscutter69 I saw you had two devices but wasn't aware the up one was good enough to raise yourself. I have a basic Petzl Ascender for pulling up and a Petzl Stop for lowering down but your ones look way more advanced
Isn't this building non-compliant? AFAIK insulation needs at least 1 water resistant barrier and here it's just mushed up directly against the window cladding.
I didn’t building it , just doing the repair
@@Grasscutter69 I'm aware but i'm still asking you since you're doing work to the building in that area specifically and it seems like something that should be reported.
sobering
Used to do windows in the 80s ropes and hanging ladders how safety equipment has come on lovely kit to work with
Are you guys more afraid at the top of the building or when you're closer to the ground? I hope this line of work pays 6 figures. Mad props to you guys btw, it takes a certain and special type of person to do a job where your life or the quality of your life is at risk the whole time.
I watched 18 minutes thinking this was a heist video
