Dad Gone Wild
Norway
Приєднався 9 сер 2019
My name is Martin and I´m a dad. In 2018 I took a leap of faith and quit my big city dream job to move me and my family to the mountains of Norway. On this channel I will share stories on how I went from climbing a career ladder to climbing mountains in the middle of Norway. I will share tips and trix on how you can do the same. I also want to help moms & dads to get back to a more active life after having kids. All this in the beautiful surroundings of Norwegian nature.
Why You Should Quit Your Dream Job / SPOILER: It´s Holding You Back / MOUNTAIN LIFE
I had to quit my dream job four years ago to start a new life in the mountains of Norway. The only constant is change, so it´s natural that your dream job may not be the dream job after some years. Then do something about it. QUIT!

I mean DO start a new life, but make sure it´s a life that fits you, not a copy of someone else. We spent almost a year researching what we wanted to do and where we wanted to live. And in the end we ended up at the perfect location and the perfect balance between work and life. Perfect for us, at least.

Kids are great, but so is some well deserved quiet time for parents. We are lucky to live in the mountains of Norway, right next to a lot of national parks. So I figured I could show you Norways oldest national park: Rondane National Park. Rondane is known for its iconic mountains and the exotic wild raindeer. To us, this is the best kind of quiet time. Just us and mother nature.

Good tips and wonderful video quality! I became a huge fan for just watching one video.
Thank so much for saying that!
So beautiful 😍
Thank you very much🤗
Nice man! Inspiring because it’s exactly what im going through right now. Kinda quitting my dream job in advertisement as well to pursue other dreams. Difference is I dont know exactly what yet. But cant wait to explore the other side of the fence ;) liked the video!
That’s awsome! You will not regret it🙌🏼
Awesome views of the mountain and talk. Thanks for sharing your dream life journey. Cheers from the top of the mountain.
Thank you!
Nice man. You should make more videos :)
Let me be very clear! Everyone should live a life that makes them happy. Just make sure to choose a life that fits you, not your inspiration.
Hey Martin! I feel like i reallly discovered very underrated channel here. I really liked the topics you choose and the way you tell the story. But I would like to add something just because it seems like you are still in the process of shaping your channel and would like to listen your audience. Since I'm a filmmaker I do like heavy cuts, editing tricks and quick ways to tell story in a video format etc. But in such a complicated topic, I would like you to slow down and talk a lot with going thru all the details. I wanna do career change like this and hear more about it. Not x tips to do bla bla kind a thing. You may keep doing this kind of videos but in some topics you get deeper into it and explain your process with the real datas (What changed actually in your life, how much does it take to leave a city life and slowing down your life, salary/working home specs) Cheers to the most beautiful country I ever visited and fall in love! (Profile pic is from lovely Lofoten)
First of all. Thank you for such a great and kind comment! I´ve actually been struggling lately with what I want this channel to be. I work as a filmmaker as well, but I learned quick that doing youtube on the side while I have a full time job editing and so on is really exhausting. But the plan is, hopefully, to do as you suggest. All I really want is to inspire more people to jump of their hamster wheel and start doing what gives them energy:) I have a plan to get back to producing on this channel in november:) Again, thank you for the comment and I´m happy that you had a great time in Norway!
@@dadgonewild5697 That’s great! I put the ring bell on and will be waiting for brand new well-considered contents in November!
The one rock per hike tip is great! Thank you!
Great to see real tips rather than bring a projector style ones.
Im Curious about the jobs someone can have living in the mountains and also what about school for the kids?
This is exactly what I’m trying to figure out of course you can also do remote work with a computer ? But I’m not sure how he manages
I'm not a parent yet but this was so satisfying
Awesome 👍. Please keep the content coming. My one tip: try to stay dry lol
Amazing family, views, tips on how to go hiking with kids. Lovely. Cheers from your new friend at the top of the mountain.
This is great! I hope you keep making videos - would love to hear more on the simple life perspective, especially finances
This video quality is so good!!
🙌🏼❣️
I just stumbled over your channel, I enjoyed watching your video, it's really laid-back but still informative, continue the good work :) secondly I wanted to add something on the happiness part. one way of thinking that changed how I see life came from mark manson, he said, life is not about happiness, it's about suffering. we're all good in different things, so if we chose wisely we might be sooner or later able to suffer for the thinks we like. Instead of running after your boss and clients, you can also try to do a good camp fire or go fishing for dinner, if that's what you like to do, and suffer for. So happiness is basically suffering for the right things. So yeah. I'm looking forward to more cool videos :)
Wow, that a really nice perspective. That you for sharing your insights!
Hello from the UK. Beautiful scenery. As a dad of 2 I get where you are coming from. Good luck on the journey... 👍
Thank you very much😊
Your video editing skill is so underrated...
Amazing content, I feel liike some in-video visuals can sipice it up even more.
Thanks alot! I will have that in mind for the next one😊
Who else is going hiking this summer?

Veldig fin film, Martin! Skjønner at det tok tid:)

Flott video Martin!
@@olavaar Hehe, takk! Ble litt trim den dagen. Takk for tips. Jeg skal teste den turen senere i vinter:)
I really have to prove that I can make a fire, don´t I?🤣
