I grow mostly frankincense & myrrh trees along with lotus for blooms and food
And a few other plants like Adenium and thorny plants.
And sometimes cook along with brewing beers and wine and other ferments and homemade cured and smoked meats and salami.

My red Lotus plant lot of airal leaves are coming but no bud come till today. What I have to do for this. Kindly advise me.
Well getting arial leaves is a good sign a lotus is mature enough to bloom, but still could take another season to actually bloom sometimes. I start some yellow ones from seed this year knowing they're not going to bloom until next summer. It's really about just being patient. And you also have to remember that some lotus varieties are just not as heavy bloomers as other varieties as well. One thing you can do is feed them more, but a plant isn't going to bloom until it's ready. Thanks for watching!
@@toddstropicals your welcome
Hello Todd, if there's a natural pond nearby our home in Florida, can I throw lotus seeds that have been "prepared to show a bit of the inside flesh" into a pond and they will grow... ?
Absolutely, they'll take over the entire pond!
Can you tell me where to buy ??
In the USA Ten Mile Creek Nursery is the best place. They're online, just Google them.
That’s interesting. I didn’t know you could order plants through the mail. 😄👍
Oh yeah, that's how I get all the crazy stuff I grow lol.
How do i buy these seeds i Live in florida am i able to contact you
I don't sell seeds, miniatree is on Facebook I understand.
Too late I bought mine on line! Bummer, guess I’ll just wait and see. I live in Florida 🌴☀️growing on my Liana. I’m keeping you channel 👍+ 🔔 August 31, 2024
I just harvested seeds from my lotus, so we'll see what they do too! Sometimes they bloom the next year and sometimes they don't. I typically eat the ones that aren't good bloomers.
@@toddstropicals I had no idea we can eat these. I need more info on this. What and how do I eat these lotus 🪷 plants? I actually ordered mine 🪷 through TEMU which most stuff comes from China, but also Taiwan , or Philippines. Thank you for replying 👍
There's plenty of ways to eat them braised, fried, steamed, pickled... Just Google lotus root recipes.
Thank you. I spent alot on flowers this year and they all died😢😢 we think its because we planted flowers where acidic big ugly bush was for 1000 yrs so the soil may be no good. It says to use in spring but i cant wait until next yr. Determined to save my flowers
Yeah it can be used anytime of year really.

How do you think these would do in arizona?
Bursera microphylla is from southern Arizona, so it really depends how far north you live there. If you get snow and long periods of freezing temps you'd have to grow them in pots and bring them in for winter months. Typically all members of the burseracea family are tropical or subtropical US zones 9b - 11 is their growing range. Thanks for watching!
Mine doesn't have thorns? Does that mean it's not a kaffir tree?
Most citrus trees are armed with thorns, and kaffir limes are especially thorny so yeah, probably not a true kaffir or could be some mutant hybrid.
Hello, can we communicate? I have been looking to get a Dracaena Cinnabari but it’s impossible, can we talk?
Sure, although they didn't do all to well for me here in Florida and died from all the rain when we got hit with hurricanes. They need a way arid environment than I can provide. My email is posted in my main page description.
Hello Todd: I supposedly purchased some Boswellia Sacra seeds online however they don't look like the seeds you sowed in the video above. Would it be possible for me to share with you an image of the seeds I received in order to determine if the are in fact Boswellia Sacra seeds? Please let me know! Regards, Rick.
If they didn't look like the ones I showed they're probably not Boswellia seed. I'll see if I can locate some pics to post.
Hi Todd have you ever ordered any Boswellia or any plants from overseas. I just ordered 2 sacra and a socotrana from HOJNY. They are in the Czech Republic and are going to send with phylosanitary paperwork. I am wondering how long will they hold up being bare root? And if you had any issues getting it past CBP agriculture inspection Thanks happy growing😊
I have talked to people who have ordered from them in both the US and Canada, they've said they were happy with the plants and they arrived fine.. I haven't ordered from them yet... I am considering it, maybe next year perhaps.
I have a native lotus plant.but isn't blooming yet I grow it from tuber
That's weird, maybe try to bump up the feed. The only ones that don't bloom for me are the edible cultivars.
Beautiful bullhorn. I need to repot my bonsai bullhorn and I’d like to let it grow large (vs. bonsai). What soil do you recommend?
I just used a commercial citrus/palm/cactus mix available at any big box stores amended with extra coarse sand and more perlite.
@@toddstropicals Thank you very much!
@pallaj7693 Anytime, happy to help!
Have you moved all your Orchids into the covered patio? I know you were considering giving up on Orchids after your Hoop House was destroyed :'(
No, they're hanging on my front porch, the ones I still have. I'll probably be getting rid of more soon.
Cheers broski!!! 😎🍺🍺
Thanks, even though it's a bit early for a beer here in Floryduh.
nice
Thanks Marc, I watched your tribute to Margaret. It was very touching.
@@toddstropicals Thanks, wasn't easy to create, browsing trough her footage. We were in good contact over the years and the news came quite as a shock.
@TOEKIEWORLDMarc I pretty much knew she wasn't doing well when I seen she wasn't posting videos like she used to. She and I used to chat quite a bit on Instagram until I stopped doing so much social media, I feel bad for Keith.
@@toddstropicals We were in good contact via email and I knew she wasn't reacting well to her treatment but it still shocked me when Keith posted the news of Margaret's passing.
@TOEKIEWORLDMarc Yeah, it shocked me as well, I could tell she was having a hard time with treatments also.
I hope that little tree starts looking better, it will be beautiful when it blooms
Thanks, it will, it's just in travel shock.
You are amazing Todd!A world of knowledge. Will be beautiful with the flowers.I haven’t seen hummingbirds here.I had a lot in Pennsylvania.
Thanks but I just do my research, lots of Hummers here!
we haven't seen a drop of rain since Debby went by last Tuesday. I could use an afternoon storm but seems that won't be happening for several more days.
Raining here almost every other day or so.
Never heard of those 2 trees, how interesting, can’t wait to see how they do! When I was in Hawaii there was a wonderful tree with bright orange flowers, an African something or other, really gorgeous, wish I could remember the name to tell you, the hummers would love it…also that huge blooming Euphorbia peeking into the frame is awesome 🌿
Thanks, I've had that euphorbia since 2005.
They look awesome!! Your hummers will be very happy with the tree once it's settled in and blooming. 😅 Nice little rain storm, lots of water for plants and whatever...Have a great one Todd. 👍🏻
Thanks Robert, hope you figured out that new phone!😁👍
@@toddstropicals Still working on it. 😄
