Nice! I bet it even smells better, like Windex. My PS2, on the other hand, smells awful-like cigarettes and kitchen grease, thanks to the previous owner. I noticed that the thermal pads weren't changed. Do you think it's still safe to leave them as they are after a couple of decades?
I have a damaged super Mario world cartridge, I'll repair this like yours

What is that rubber dampener called, that wraps around the rear of the disc drive? Saw that mine was degraded, and falling apart because of rubber rot from old age. But I can’t seem to search for the correct term online to purchase one. I know it’s used for shock absorption, so I’d like to replace it soon.
really great video. my drive is still a little sluggish opening and closing (it sort of stutters pushing the tray out the last inch or two) so i'll reopen and remove some of the excess grease i left behind and check that i greased everything you did
i tried taking apart my xbox one that i had to replace with an xbox series s, and it no longer reads a disc, nor takes a disc in, the disc drive no longer works, neither does the power button, i wish i could send you in mine so you could repair it but i dont have the money to get it addressed nor the money to pay you to fix it
holy crap thank you so much this was very helpful
did you ever find a fix?
what's the best oil to use inside fan? i hear people use special fan oils or certain car fans. can baby oil do since it's soft oil?
Difícil achar o receptor desse controle
Thank you!! Showed me how you disassemble and clean my SNES, and as i did that noticed this was the root of my problems for my SNES!! I dont know how to sauder unfortunately so going to practice and figure it out till im brave enough to fix my SNES! Thank you again, DIY is life 🤘🏼
You don't happen to have a list of screw sizes do you?
You have to put the old disc drive board in other to work fine
Very nice for an idea of how to fix mine, thanks!
Awesome job! Your channel reminds of that show “How it’s Made”. So entertaining and informative.
Excellent video, it has helped me a lot!
I only needed to give mine a good clean. Followed your instructions. Works like a charm! Thanks!
Can you not just by a whole new disc replacement with the mother board inside it ? Is that not what you did? Why replace it with the old one or replace the old one with the new one when you had a new one to begin with?
The board in the disc drive is paired to the xbox main board, it has to be swapped out.
One of the best tutorial videos on how to break down the system thank you for providing that cheers🎉 ❤🎉

I've replaced my disc laser in which it work for Blu-ray and not for videogames as well as having scratches after inserting the disc would you recommend swapping the disc drive or what could be the issue?
i just painted my xbox, thx to ur tutorial
brooooo thank you so much, you dont realise how much sufferage i had to open the clips, but thanks to your tip! i now could open them with ease, thank you sooooo much huge appreciation you deserve 100ks *
i love how thisz chanel has the old 2016 vibes thanks bro
Thks..like
Thanks for the video!
I’ve actually also replaced my Xbox One disc drive too. Be wary that the replacements can fail too. My replaced disc drive is failing after only a few months after being replaced. These consoles are getting old and it will become harder and harder to maintain them
didnt change capacitors?
Brilliant guide. Cracked out the PS2, which was making an evil noise whenever you move into a new area of the map in Simpsons Hit ‘N’ Run, and takes about 20 seconds before it loads any of the environment in. Opened the console up, quick hoover, and good as new!
Thanks.
Hi there what if the board is damaged in the dvd drive what then?
So it completely has to be disassembled to replace the disc drive motor? I just need to change the motor and disc laser/lens
I have stick drift on my wavebird is there a way to repair without replacing the original analog hardware thanks
Mine doesnt even have screws where the feet are. Some weird pop nit or whatever its called in English no way to remove that? This is a hired n64 box so its not meant for personal use. Got it from my uncle when they sold the video store.
Hi i have a question. Can you tell me what the plus voltage is that the middle or the outside (9dc) i hope you can tell me. Greeting
I never teardown my super nes since buying in the 90s. It is going to be dirty probably.
i just did mine and i stopped after seeing a bunch of spiderwebs🤣 went and bought alcohol now i’m ready!
The foil tape over the switches are static straps...shouldn't discard.
Great video. Thx for posting it. It helps me a lot.
Too fast
thank you fof good guide how todisassembly and clean. regards
Ended up breaking the power cord cable thing. What a horrible design
Good guide, better than any of the others I clicked on, even though mine has a different model disc drive.
Thankss but the reassembly was frustrating because it wasn't just disassembly backwards. I had to guess what screws were from where even though put everything in order in in a tray as I removed them.
Any idea what size screws are used for Duke/S Controllers?
4:18
6:48
4:08 anyone know what this part is called or where i can find it?
I don't know the technical term, but best bet would be to locate a parts console for sure.
Why do some Xbox One consoles have the Turtle Beach sticker on it?😮
People put their own stickers on their . Usually those are from the turtle beach headphones . Stickers come with them usually…
Thanks for the video....My console sometimes worked and sometimes it didn't. This video "encouraged" me to open the console for cleaning and now it works like new
I can not understand why cut parts in the motherboard, but not cut the RCA plug and join the wires?, i never understand that way to do
Came here because id say i have a one of a kind Atari 2600 thats gutted and ports were cut open and it is running a Raspberry Pi 3 B the little game select lever / button fell inside and the aesthetic of the missing lever was bothering me..
