My name is Danielle, my family and I invite you to join along on our homesteading journey.
We have recently moved to the country on 40 acres. We are growing a massive garden and raising several animals. We are currently raising a cow and her baby, five goats, a plethora of chickens and a small army of turkeys, one live stock dog, one mutt, and three cats.
Sean and I are happily married. We have 9 kids, half of whom are grown and have three grandbabies. We would love to show you how we are learning to grow our own food and raising our own animals because we believe providing our own food is far healthier for our bodies then what can be bought at the store.

Case in point of why i hate big box store lumber and/or treated lumber (or any lumber that isn’t kiln dried to <10% moisture content for that matter..) More times than not, even Lowe’s and HD’s lumber that specifically claimed as “kiln dried” still has 12-13% + moisture content…its ridiculous…It is an unavoidable and unchangable fact of nature that wood moves…and softwoods, especially high moisture content/pressure treated softwoods, will show more visible movement than any others! Usually within the first 24 hours of bringing it to one’s jobsite from the purchasing location, because of the change in ambient humidity & temp (unless by some miracle, both places have the exact same humidity and ambient temp lol) but if not within the first day or so, most definately once it acclimates to its new location and starts drying…if ya cant find kiln dried framing lumber with low moisture content, or if its for an exterior project, Cedar or Redwood is a better bet than wet pine or fir, or treated lumber…will cost more but i guess it just depends on how much peace of mind is worth to ya.
Get to the point....!!!
I probably accidentally fell in there when filling the plastic bags with organic dirt. Sh*t happens.
Doesn’t OMRI certify it?
Wow.. l actually, a few years ago used some old guttering for my lettuces and small aloe vera plants and a few herbs..it works great
Wrap wet towels around it, wrap around the full height with a black tarp, and keep it damp in the sun. The water will transfer into the strains, and black tarp will retain heat. Steam bending timber is easy to do.
Beautiful turkeys
I'm trying to find the best solution right now for my post. I know this was a long time ago but what I'm going to try is use a steel angle 2 x 2 x 1/4 along a good portion of the post so as I screw it in, it pushes against the bow and hopefully aligns it.
you mean like a brace?
That's what I was thinking of doing with my 4 x 4 post which has warped so much that it's warped noticeably in 2 different directions 😅 I'll leaving the angle and screwed or maybe coach bolted and will wet the post and keep it damp.
I didn’t have any foreign material in my bag thank goodness. I mixed mine with worm castings, bio char and a lil bit extra perlite.
To take the pressure off the quick connect and the hoses turn off the the pump(shut off the tractor/step on the clutch and then move the control valve forward and back to relieve the pressure in the hoses and you won't loose any oil. LL&P
Whaat a waste of time listening to this guy talk! Terrible video!
Wow Tia! 😂 so cute, looks like you guys are having fun!
😂😂😂
🐐
What you end up doing? My gate post is bowed now. I tried to work around it but I think imma pull it and resink it
Why are you using temporary fence post for a long-term situation?
The fence was up a little high, and the baby goats were getting under it. We only need it until they get a little bigger.

3/4 in. FHT x MHT Brass Hose Bibb with Anti-Siphon Vacuum Breaker This is all u need
Your check valve is bad on your well if it's sucking back through the hose
It's not a well it's a frost free hydrant.
@@GenetryHomestead I gotcha I didn't know it was a in ground frost proof hose Bib. Thank you
@@GenetryHomestead that's not what was said in the video though, he said "if you have a well it will syphon" which is completely wrong unless the foot valve is bad!
@juarezderrick9647 your right, and he was wrong. Bring a city boy to the country, and he isn't going to get all the terminology right.
@@GenetryHomestead 😂 makes sense
Just get a water trough check valve. Theyre like 15 bucks a tractor supply. Just clips on the side of the trough and you can just leave the water on. Itll shut iff once the water line hits the check valve and you dont have to worry about the hose falling.
Cows like, "Sup."
Siphoning from a trough back to your well, I hope you have lots of anti diarrhea pills.
Your well has a bad foot valve?
It is a frost free hydrant, and it is supposed to suck the water back in to keep it from freezing. It was doing its job we just didn't understand. Now the problem is solved.
@@GenetryHomestead never seen a frost free... anything suck water back. Learn something everyday
Not a well. A frost proof hydrant.
All frost free hydrants have that potential
Exactly! A well has a foot valve and can't syphon unless the foot valve is bad!
Use an electric hand planer.
Beautiful ❤

He is in a coop in the barn right now getting used to his new friends and home. We will let him free range with the others in a week or so.
Agreed, cheap tester but better than nothing.
Cheap tester. Unfortunately they are all Chinese cheap junk unless you have a fluke or a really nice field piece. But those aren’t specifically for fence testing. It’s picking up the magnetic field that all electric produces, even us! They call it an aura in humans!! But it’s just holding the first reading which is the magnetic fields from the fence. Really interesting that you figured that out, I can see where it would save a non electrician a lot of diagnostic tests and avoid replacing parts that are still functional. Really cool and interesting observation. Thanks a lot for sharing with us!! And the goat was definitely trying to see the screen on the tester to know if he had a chance to get out and go find a date for the afternoon 😂😂
He looked at you at the end
Looks like a farm to me!!! They all look happy too.👍
Will it work for Cannibus
Yes, very well.
the m pump does not have the pressure to run the splitter get a pto drive system it will work great also the cyl on splitter is bnot big enough in dia need 4 in 24 stroke
Don't think an H belly pump will generate enough pressure to operate a wood splitter - unless you're splitting balsa wood. Typical operating pressure on a wood splitter is 2000 - 3000 PSI (I think). The electric over hydraulic might do it, depending on how much pressure it'll generate, but I don't know how many cords of wood that little battery-powered motor will split. Just get a splitter with engine and hydraulics all set up. You'll spend double or quadruple the amount on this arrangement, and it still won't work.
What a waste of fucking time
You talk alot about nothing. Get yourself a PTO gear pump and a reservoir.
I have the same problem for my shed. Bought them at HD (4x6) and sunk them in the ground with concrete. The corner one is bowing to the south presumably due to sun drying. If they are juicy at the store, do not buy! Got to dig it out with a backhoe.
Just roll the key to start position and release, it'll start
You should try to contact the people who you bought it from , and find out if it ever worked when they designed it. But I noticed that there isn’t any filter so it’s possible that if the cylinder seals are deteriorating the line can get plugged where the ports are smaller. But I would work backwards starting at the cylinders and see if you have flow ! 😀🇨🇦
I'd be around those dirt mounds with a metal detector.. never know what you will find...😆
What’s a praperdee ?
When wood splitter is hooked up your handle to chistmas tree valve, lol, determines which way you want the splitter valve to work and leaving your tractors hydraulics on either way dont matter, the splitter valve has a bypass which lets it circulate when not in use then you engage the splitter to control the splitter. I run mine all day long and never turn the hydraulic off on tractor. When you have the loader hooked up,try holding the control one way and pushing or pulling the tractor control the other way at same time,it should just reverse it,far as preasure on lines when hooking something up,just shut tractor off and then work all controls and it should relieve the preasure on lines
Works great, if you need to see on the barn roof.😂
On second thought, Must be the junk red tools you use.
What do you use?
Well, they are all junk these days.
I am a little late on watching this but I wonder if it's best to wait until the lumber dries out before it's put in place I built a deck and one of the 4+4s is warped pretty bad.
You have seen a bowed 4x4 at my farm. And you seen that I put a large amount of weight on it. It took a full year to get SOME of the bow out. Just replace it!!!!!!!!!!!
If the 4x4 has dried out and warped as far as it will go I would use this idea to level the 4x4. I would take and unfasten the exterior that is fastened to the 4x4 that is out of level and shim the exterior to level. Then I would use 2x6s or 2x8s for my door jamb on each side and top piece setting each side level.
Bet that felt so nice haha
Too cute
