A day in Kobe, Japan: Kobe's most famous coffee shop and only Japanese garden
Nao decided it was time to get her hair cut so we planned a quick trip to Kobe where her salon is located. Mind you... we live in Osaka... but she's loyal to her hair dresser lol.
The area we were in today is called Motomachi.
And so first, we decided to check out the 2nd largest China town in Japan for some porkbuns, chill by the water at Kobe Port, and while Nao got her hair cut, Eric went off to visit the only Japanese garden in the city.
We ended the day at a wonderful coffee shop which is super famous here and then a trip to a local bakery.
Seriously, this city has awesome vibes. Very modern. Fashionable (big scene for hostess clubs/bars meaning it has a crazy night life). But all in all, it's a very modern city since a lot of the old buildings were destroyed in the great earthquake in the mid 90s. Anyway, definitely will return to make more videos here.
Enjoy the video!

Then we continued our drive to Kirishima Kanko hotel where we finally got to enjoy our private onsen experience...
Visiting Sakurajima island: an active volcano, footbaths and..hawks? | Kagoshima, Japan (part 2)
Переглядів 14821 день тому
After a nice finding this SUPER cheap bakery inside of AEON mall, we took the ferry across to Sakurajima to be... more intimate with one of the most active volcanos in the world. After crossing, we enjoyed a nice footbath where we were stalked by some massive birds of prey...so we ate in the car. Let's just say that, this trip just had to add some toppings of its own haha. Enjoy the video and l...

Well, we didn't know where to put this video but we really wanted to give this restaurant some recognition because we thought we were going to be disappointed.... and wow, were we ever disappointed....at the fact that we didn't go in there sooner! :P Check out this local izakaya called Kadoya. Переглядів 295Місяць тому
Hey guys, so during the winter holiday, we got to finally visit Nao's ancestral home in Kagoshima. We spent the afternoon in Kagoshima city where we visited Shiroyama observatory to enjoy the view of Sakurajima volcano (one of the most active volcanos in the world) from a distance... And then we hurried off to Sengan-en which is a famous garden belonging to the noble Shimazu family from back in...
Kobo-ichi market, a 1000 year old flea market in Kyoto, Japan
Переглядів 4,5 тис.Місяць тому
On the 21st of every month, this 1000 year old flea market opens up at Toji Temple in Kyoto Japan where they sell everything from foods, flowers, kimonos and swords...etc. Nao wanted to buy a whole bunch of things and so we learned the hard way...bring cash! Either way, it's amazing to find a lot of vintage things that are so well maintained and how many of them are really affordable. Highly re...

Переглядів 1412 місяці тому
In part 2 of our trip to Ako City, we visit Iwatsuhime Shrine (which is just a hidden gem) and also Oishi shrine to pay respect to the 47 Ronin's of Ako. With just a few hours left before having to turn in our rental car, we take a small side trip to Akashi City to try a famous Akashiyaki restaurant. However, before going to Akashi, Eric was pretty hesitant after trying akashiyaki before and no...
First time Glamping in Japan | Ako, Japan (The Salt Capital of Japan)
Переглядів 3112 місяці тому
What's going on guys. So Nao discovered a beautiful glamping site in the city of Ako (near Himeji in the western part of Japan) and wanted to treat me there for my birthday. However, we had no idea that a small little city like Ako actually had MUCH more beauty and surprises than we expected. From being the salt capital of Japan, to the 47 Ronin (there was a movie Keanu Reeves did - which is ac...

I need to visit Kobe next time
Great video! You guy’s are such a nice couple! 😊🤙🏽
Thanks for the support! :)
Really enjoy the comfy vibes of the vids you guys. Keep it up :D
Thanks for the love!
Y'all are too funny lol Love this video. I'm deciding between Kirishima & Ibusuki at the moment. Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks for the kind comment! Kirishima was better for us because it's much closer to Kagoshima airport so it was easier going home for us. Ibusuki being near the water might be absolutely stunning to visit but either way, Kagoshima is filled with charming little spots no matter you go, for sure! Have a good trip!
@ericandnao thank you!
I definitely dig the vibes thanks for the tour. Was fun to be on an adventure with you two. I'm going to subscribe to see where you guys go next 😊
Thanks for the positive words! We're doing our best but... we're stuck deciding on whether we should make videos of local things to do in the city, or whether we should focus on touristy things. Any suggestions?? We'll be covering a lot of Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto this year most likely :)
@ericandnao I honestly think a mix of both Like in this video would be perfect. Like spots where you can get good bites too eat might be more important to tourists. But I enjoyed learning about the heritage of this market and all the little facts you guys shared. How far the guy travels to make the pots, how old that traditional market is, those little facts stuck with me most
I do wish the music wasn't so loud
Ahh sorry about that. These were earlier videos. Still learning the craft of editing :) Appreciate your time for watching though
Hi! This is a great vlog. Love your enthusiasm. Do you remember what part of the market the purple pottery shop was?
Ahhhh, that's a hard one to pinpoint... I mean, we were pretty much lost and wandering for quite a while but if you can see the smaller white building in the video, if you can find that, try wandering around there but otherwise... Yea sorry, we had NO idea where its located lol But I can assure you, Nao is looking forward to going back to pick up more stuff ;)
@ thank you so much! Il try to orient based on where you were in the video. Cheers
お皿っていいですよね。むかしは何の興味も無かったのに。 手の出せる贅沢っていうか、実用的やしインテリアにも馴染むし。
Thank you for your comment! We also weren't interested in pottery things until we moved into our own place in Osaka. But after seeing Nao's parents having such beautiful plates and cups, we slowly became more interested too :)
U guys are wholesome thank you for your videos
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a nice comment :)
Are you half Japanese and raised in US?
Haha, good guess but no cigar :P Do you want the answer? or should we just make a quick and proper video introducing ourselves? let us know
looks so peaceful!
Waiting for your return!
I love oden!
Now's the season! :P
Another great vlog. Always curious how much banh mi's were in Japan... 800 yen or $5USD is not bad at all!!! We pay $8USD min here in the Chicago area.
Oh man, your US dollars go quite a long way here in Japan haha. Sorry for the slow response! But yea, we rarely find banh mi's here so we had to pick it up haha
That hotel front desk truly lives up to its name! Inside the rooms remind me of a normal business hotel chain like APA hotel though.
haha yea, aside from the front desk, it was a pretty regular hotel lol
Scenery is amazing
Thank you all for taking the time to watch our videos!
Eric, you are supposed to say …”buy anything you want I’ll pay for it!”…
lol maybe one day :P
125th Subscriber. It is a joy to help beautiful channnels like this to grow in their beginnings!
Appreciate the support and the kind message! Please let us know if there's anything you'd like us to make a video on :)
@@ericandnao A little bit niche, but I would LOVE to take a good peek into the Murasaki Shikibu Museum. Also there is a Garden in Kyoto that is a remnant of the Heian Era Imperial Garden. Nara period structures are being reconstructed, would love to know these both in their History as much as how are desing decisions made (they are trying to get them as accurately as they can. That is a process on its own) and the actual building process. As you can see, I am a literature and history buff, still mesmerized by the eloquent and luminous blank page that is the "Lost In Clouds" chapter in the "Tale of Genji". Cheers!
Love the justification of why she needs that rice bowl 5:14
Her mom has a great collection of cups and plates so we are slowly looking to increase our own collection of nice pieces that we find as we visit different markets and shops! Thanks for the comment!
I love your calming vlog style. So many other channels are the total opposite with nauseating edits. The map at 9:15 is nice too. Very surprising to find you guys are still a small channel, I imagine you'll grow fast.
Thank you for the support! Nao only recently has built up the courage to appear on camera so these messages are helping her to build up her motivation to talk more on camera haha. Appreciate it :)
101st subscriber here! very tranquil little vlog. both of yalls' energy is very calming and relaxing especially in vlog form~ i think your video popped on my algorithm because i'm headed to japan in 5 days and i've been scouring youtube for all japan vlogs so i can find any hidden gems to add to my itinerary ha. glad to know that youtube's algorithm is pushing channels that are still growing to me~! should be reassuring to you as well as the creator to know that folks are indeed getting your content placed on their fyp 100% organically! anyway, happy new year to the both of you. i would love a video on how the two of yall met ?!
Thank you for the kind message! If anything, we'd recommend not jam-packing your schedule too much to give you some time to just... get lost and discover Japan. Have a great time here and appreciate your support!
And also... maybe if enough people request to hear how we met.. maybe we'll make a video on that. We're a bit shy to talk about our story still haha Cheers
I will make it 99 subscribers!! GL on your UA-cam journeys!! I enjoyed watching your excitement with the pottery.
Thank you so much for your support!
Flea market looks awesome. Do they only take cash? Very informative video.
Yea I don't think we saw any credit card machines at any of the vendors. Very traditional market!
You guys are really dedicated nowadays with content haha, the USJ video blew up! This is really deep Japan stuff haha I've never heard of these places. The Akashiyaki looks pretty good, gotta try it sometime to compare with Takoyaki.
Haha yeah, the USJ video was fun! Definitely recommend those shrines, it's pretty cool to see them in person!
Enjoy Both of you ❤
🤩🤩
天満三丁目だ‼️その公園の前のマンションに住んでました!懐かしい😊
Very lucky! 🤩
Cool video man, we liked the Nao Cam at the start 😂. Giyoun said USJ is exactly like the LA one. Ironically I can't say cause last time I went I was probably single digits in age 😅. Interesting to see a mix of japanese and western shows represented there.
Haha, she's finding her personality on camera now. But yea, with the flood gates open, there's just been more tourists than ever here in Japan for the past couple years!
Did you buy the express pass?
Considering we weren't planning on going crazy on the rides, we decided to skip the express pass and just go early to see the attractions. Have you used the express pass at USJ?
@@ericandnao hi po, can we still enter nintendo world without buying the express pass?
Great video 👍
Enjoy ❤
Nice pottery stroll! My wife does pottery so this really piqued our interest. Thanks!
Our pleasure! Definitely worth a trip if you have a day to spend :)
Hi! How are you guys doing?
Good! Waiting for you guy to come visit Osaka again!
Dude ! I have to remember that you live there, next time we are there !! My girlfriend and I love it in Japan and we’ve been three times !!
Lol dude, I always catch your pics in Japan AFTER you've returned to Canada haha. Gimme a shout next time!😂
@@ericandnao I will remember next time forsure !! Where in Japan do you guys live ?
Nice video man, saw the 2nd part too didn't know there were things like La Collina, pretty sweet they even designed the building like a pastry.
Definitely worth a visit if you have a car and out in Shiga! :)
Nice video. Love the vlog style
Waiting for your next video!
I can appreciate it when UA-cam recommends me smaller channels like this one, I enjoyed the video, will be looking forward to the next upload.
Thank you for the kind message! Have a great day!
Nice video man, was meaning to visit Kinosaki Onsen at some point
Great video!!! 👌👌👌 may I ask, which week/month have you visited? (I can see autumn colors) and also did they allow drone to be flown from a distance to the hotel? Thanks.
Do you shoot at 24 frames? And do you also shoot on full auto? Or do you color correct? Want to know for my trip to Japan.
24fps. Usually auto if I'm vlogging and if I'm behind the camera, I may manually adjust things for my shots. Color correction on the zv1... Very minimal. I use this camera in order to do less work 🙂
nice footage. thats with active stab? but no wide angle lens?
Active stab and I believe the ulanzi attachment was on there to make it a bit wider
Saved as a place to visit one day.
Hi cousin it's toutou wow great vidéos
Sweet glasses!
Enjoy your weekend Both of you
👍👍👍👍
Good vlog 👍🏻 I have the cam since a few weeks too and the quality is really good 👍🏻 I finished my first short clips and 👌normally I have the fx6 but for holidays ist the mini ZV1 for me 👍🏻 best cinematic greetings from germany
Definitely loving the quality and convenience of this camera! Thanks for watching bud!
So fun! Could one rent a car and do this trip?
Highly recommend it! Lots of sights and things to do all around this lake. At first glance, I didn't think this trip would be worth it but, I was proven wrong haha. Thx for watching 😅
Good work Eric. Keep it coming and show us a beautiful land of japan.
Great job bro. You have the eyes
I appreciate that!
