    Con todos mis respetos , nunca mi intención fue opinar sobre su funcionamiento . Mi comentario es referente al nuevo diseño de su cuadro , el cual desde mi punto de vista personal ha perdido el encanto que tenia con sus curvas , su Preciosa joroba que le daban en encanto especial a las Ibis . Ahora todos los cuadros del mercado tienen líneas rectas , da igual que compres ( ibis , Santacruz,transition , yeti ,etc etc ) que tiene de especial eso ???. Compras una bici y solo se diferencia del resto por las pegatinas de la Marca y el anclaje del amortiguador, el resto es igual . No tiene nada especial adquirir una ibis , ya son como el resto . Las únicas marcas que sigue fieles a las curvas en suc cuadros son Niner y Evil el resto son todas igual .😢

      It's a tough trail for anyone the first few times, but is ridable with a bit of work and patience. It's also fairly short and can usually be completed in less than 45 min. or so. Its also a great trial for hiking!

    Una pena que ibis halla hecho este cambio tan radical en su modelo Estrella , ha hecho recto cómo todas la marcas de bicis actuales , perdiendo la Preciosa curvatura de su tubo superior , en fin una verdadera lástima .😢

      Es cierto que el aspecto ha cambiado, pero estas bicicletas se conducen incluso mejor que las versiones anteriores. Parte de eso se debe al nuevo diseño del cuadro y somos grandes fanáticos de la calidad de conducción. Si alguna vez estás en Sedona o tienes la oportunidad de alquilar o probar una, ¡te lo recomendamos!

    Why didn't you show the most difficult part, securing the cassette to the wheel. You showed all the easy stuff and not that. You spent ZERO time telling us what kind of freehub body we need for this install, you just assumed we had the right one. Thumbs down from me.

    • @thundermountainbikes
      @thundermountainbikes 2 місяці тому

      These kits all use a Sram XD driver. There are a bunch of videos online that cover XD driver installation, and they are not unique to this groupset, so we did not cover it. The AXS Upgrade kit also does not include the cassette, and most people that snag an upgrade kit, already have the cassette installed. If you need help with that part of the installation, this video from SRAM is great: ua-cam.com/video/vfyGT7uQX4U/v-deo.html

    How it compare the KS Lev ?

    • @thundermountainbikes
      @thundermountainbikes 3 місяці тому

      The OneUp is definitely lighter and, if the V2 any indication, should be more trouble-free and reliable as well. We'd personally pick the OneUp over any other cable-actuated dropper.

    The trails that you ride, so chunky, steep and technical really justify these high end full suspension bikes. My local trails are tame with a few technical steep chunky sections but definitely not long distance sections that would justify a long travel trail or burly enduro. Thanks for sharing this video. I’ll wait for more.

    • @thundermountainbikes
      @thundermountainbikes 3 місяці тому

      We hear you. Mid/long travel bikes are not the best for all trails. If you like the looks of these Ibis bikes, I would suggest that you check out their XC bike the Exie or their hardtail DV9. Both are great for smoother trails and longer rides.

      This video was filed about this time last year. I do believe it was September. The first week of March the temp can vary quite a bit but we usually have an average high of 60-65. Generally, March is a great time to ride here but we occasionally get a bit of rain.

    If I want to change a chain, do I have to open the axle and the screw on the derailleur again and repeat these steps or is it enough to shorten the chain to the correct length and then mount it in the open position?

    • @thundermountainbikes
      @thundermountainbikes 4 місяці тому

      You dont need to remove the derailleur to change the chain, if you follow the chain installation instructions starting at 4:50, this would be the same process for a new chain, a replacement, or reinstalling a chain after it has been shortened. I hope this info. helps to clarify!

      Mike Raney is just over 6 ft. tall. He rides the large and prefers a longer reach. I'd say if you are taller then 5'8" to about 6 ft. the Extra Medium is probably the right size but there is some size overlap. 6 ft. to about 6'3" the large is going to fit a bit better.

      @thundermountainbikes 4 місяці тому

      @@matiagachaelomocom At your height both the XM and Larege would work. The size you go with would depend more on your preferred riding style. The XM will be a bit quicker handling, poppy and nimble, where the Lagre will be more planted and more stable at high speeds. Personally, I would choose the XM but both sizes would work.

    I rode this trail from the other direction last spring, and wondered if it rode better from the west to the east, as you did it? I'm thinking that both climb/descent sections have very cool rock armored sections that would be more enjoyable to ride downhill.

    With the new sizing it looks like the new large was the old XL and XL is more like an XXL. At 6'3" the older XL was perfect on my RIpmo AF. Thinking Large is the ticket on the new Ripley and Ripmo?

    • @thundermountainbikes
      @thundermountainbikes 5 місяців тому

      Ibis did shift the sizing a bit when they added the Medium Large. At 6"3' I'd suggest the large. They have a slightly longer reach than the XL RIBMO AF but should fit similarly because they have steeper seat tubes as well. I do think the XL in the new Ripley and Ripmo would feel a touch big for your.

    I noticed that these bikes are spec’d with 800mm width bars, but only if they are built with the included extensions. Is that the default way that most bike shops will build these bikes? And Did you build yours to that width?

    • @thundermountainbikes
      @thundermountainbikes 6 місяців тому

      The Ibis Hi-fi bar measures 750mm without the inserts and 800mm with them installed. The inserts can be cut smaller if you want a narrower bar than 800mm with them installed. We usually keep the stock bar width on most bikes but cut them to the preferred width when we sell a bike. We kept the bars the stock width on this build and likely most other bike shops would do the same.
