Hi Aarn great video but i am wondering when you will making the Large waterwizard for the people who bought a large pack with only a rain cover for the Body pack and no water protection for 2 front Packs i cant understand why they stopped the production of the Water wizard.

Yes please bring large size water wizards jackets please.

Does the amount of weight you put in the balance pockets impact the backpack weight capacity? If pack limit is 33lbs, will I be able to add an additional 8-10lbs in the balance pockets? Thanks!

The Aarn Front Pack is excellent

The past three years of hiking have been the best since I got my featherlite freedom flow with balance bags. I don't have any more shoulder pain and no issues with the weight I carry.

Can this 40 pack fit in a single tent and a sleeping bag?

Why does this exist. The expedition front packs combined are almost as big as my bag I used to through hike the Colorado trail. I don't understand why this is a thing.

There are Aarn packs. I'm very happy with mine. The Sports Pro balance bags are so handy. My shoulders are buggered so having my water bottles right in front makes life easy.

Nice idea. Beats gobbling up space inside the pack.

Still have one of your very first packs I purchased in Petone after I met you sometime in the early 90's. Serious health problems means it does not get much use these days, but back then it transformed my tramping experience and I'm still grateful for all the effort you've put into their design, production and marketing over so many years.

My wet weather gear and poo pack go in the right side pocket. My first aid kit and hygiene bag and similar items go in the left side pocket. The back pocket is where i put my rubbish bag and thongs. This works well for me. It sorts itself out after a week or two on the track. In the mornings, I'm up and at it in under 30 minutes.

What a phenomenal scenery my friend!

Just did a bit over 200k on the Bibbulmun Track from Pemberton to Walpole with my Featherlite Freedom Pro. Just before I stepped off, I replaced my hip belt with a smaller one after some weight loss and added sports pro balance bags. All up, I was carrying 14kg with 10 days of food and 3 litres of water a day. These little tune ups made a big difference to my comfort and the pace I walked. I'm very happy with the new setup.

I’ve got a Featherlite Freedom pack bought a few years ago. My pockets fit onto the straps and I look over the top of them. Would the new pockets in this video fit onto my pack and can you buy them without buying the backpack?

last year, i walked into this store in Christchurch to buy something else. I tried this back pack with a load, and was so surprised to feel like...there was barely a load!i baught it, and have been using it intensely for a year now. I confirm what you say about freedom of movement. This bag is the most comfortable one i have ever had. Besides, it's quite adjustable, so can fit perfectly my very short size. A feature i could never enjoy before.😂. As for durability, it's been through a lot, and ,so far, i have had no issue with it. I try to keep the weight of my pack as low as possible, but i carry a tent, mat, sleeping bag, cooking gear, rain gear and clothes... 10 to 12 kilos...Well, i used to suffer back pain when hiking long distances. But with this pack, not any more! It really makes a difference...

My duty belt weighed a lot, never noticed it.

My aarn pack is about 22yrs old, well broken in & still going strong & I love it. Never let me down. Used to get comments about the balance pockets now get comments about how old it is 😂

For 25 years, I have been unable to carry overnight pack due to back injury and subsequent back pain whenever I put more than 6 kg on my back for extended time. My Aarn pack & pockets (bought in 2021) has open hiking opportunities that I dreamed off until then. I've been out on multidays hikes once a month since I got my Aarn pack carrying up to 18kg without any pain at all. It is incredible!!!!!! In addition to the pockets being part of the system, as importantly, I love the customising of the back length: I have a short back length and Aarn is the best fitting ever. Whenever someone intrigued asked me about my pack, they get the full story and explanation about the pack: I'm your perfect lived experience rep! Thank you for persevering with your design!!!

Brillant, walked Calmino in 2016 and will be using our original packs again in 2024. Love them really fit the body well.

Very handy indeed, though, I feel that they would make me sweat across the chest even in subzero temperatures...

Love Aaron packs

The counterbalance system and harness/belt movement of Aarn packs seems to make carrying loads of 10-20 kilograms an absolute breeze, but I imagine the various moving components and added complexity will accelerate wear and tear compared to traditional packs. It seems I'll need to get one of these at some point and see, but I reckon the longevity will still be better than a lot of high-priced DCF "ultralight" packs on the market. Cheers
