MCPR1204 visits the Launceston Steam Railway
Переглядів 5146 років тому
Here it is! My visit to the Launceston Steam Railway, featuring Quarry Hunslet 'Covertcoat'. This is a beautiful little narrow gauge transplant in the Cornish countryside, with the terminus of Launceston occupying a special place as one of the most beautiful English countryside towns I've visited. My favourite restored Mosquito, KA114, first restored beauty, out of New Zealand. Watch her, the best vid of ANY Mosquito , taking off, back in New Zealand, with record views. GREAT!
5:08 - A LEGEND in front of two overpriced tin cans :D
Excellent 👍😊👍💖 💖😃
❤️
The best aircraft ever made, such a beauty!
What a beautiful airplane!
WW II version of the SR-71.
The plane that American Aircraft manufacturers started that as it was built out of wood and old hat, it was not worth building in the US. So wrong they were
My father joined the RAF in 1949 at the age of 16 years 39 days. The Mossie was the first aircraft he worked on. ❤️
I’ve never seen a Mosquito with both props turning in the same direction. If I remembered correctly, the early P-38 prototypes all had this same config, before being fixed as the inertial drift made the plane banked slightly to the right/left depending on direction of prop rotation. I sure hope this wasn’t intended lmao
Only British contract P-38s had props rotating in the same direction. This, in addition to deletion of the turbosuperchargers, made the P-38 unsatisfactory to the RAF.
Both props spinning in the same direction? I thought no 1 would turn the other way
On the mossie it was both engines running the same way.
P-38 had counter rotating engines.
I just wanted all the other planes to be quiet in the back ground it's like they didn't know something really special was about to take off
All this time I wrongly thought Mosquito propellors counter rotated! Wicked vid. Thanks 🙏👍
The pilots said " a lot of rudder was required on take of ".
I'm not a pilot but this aircraft doesn't half make me wish I was.... apart from takeoff then maybe!
A truly beautiful aeroplane.
the noises behind the camera are 100% justified
I dont like British trains, but cool video! Like seeing other country trains
the LSR in Cornwall is a wounderful little Narrow gauge steam railway that gos through some very nice Cornish countryside i have been going there since i was small and i have had a lot of rides behind Covertcoat and i know Mr and Mrs bowmen very well and i think this a nice little advert for their railway
Some British steamers are beautiful, but oh my gosh their diesels are hideous. They are so boring and plain looking. And they are weak as crap. Plus their horns sound like a dying goose. Great video still, just don’t understand the point of a weak train
well if you lived in uk u would be used to them
While looks are subjective; one could observe that between 1960s-1980s and between 1990s-today US Diesel Traction share a large amount of the same underpinnings and are very similar. It should, however, be noted that I do have a fondness for several such designs. So then to go on and say that all UK Diesels are plain would be a misnomer. I encourage you to look through Classes 08, 20, 31, 33, 37, 40, 43, 46, 47, 56, 58 and 66 (I could go on mind) and see the design variation before blanketing them as plain. However, do not take this as me saying you should like them, just that you shouldn’t label them as plain. As for calling them weak, I think that is misinformed too. For a start the UK loading gauge is considerably smaller meaning that smaller engines and traction equipment must be used, limiting power when compared to a contemporary US locomotive. It should also be noted that we have much shorter but more frequent trains, not necessitating behemoths of locomotives. Finally, for horns, some do sound as described but not all, however horn sound is most definitely subjective, and that cannot be argued. I look forward to your response back.
Your videos are great!
Nice video! Never seen four trains on the move like that. It was kool.
Probably because DHS (Department of Homeland Security) now protects and administers rail yards and although you can film trains on any tracks, the rail yards are highly prohibited now.
CB&Q AS WELL GREAT RAILROADS MISSED IMMENSELY
I Miss BN Immensely
Love It I Model HO MYSELF HAVE A BASEMENT FULL
Nicely filmed and edited! Great work!
How do you not have more subs?
Nice catch and I am your new subscriber
beautiful
I wanted to watch trains from that bridge 5+ years ago and couldn't find a place nearby to park. Seems like they don't want rail fans hanging out on that bridge.
Nice video of a retro shunting action !
I shot this one leading a train in Elk River back in 2014 with another RCO, BNSF 2859.
Where was this shot?
I LIKE TRAINS! :3
The green line makes me sick! it shakes all over the place.
Stunning!
Nice one simon!
I want to foam England sooo bad! I love watching vids of their trains. Thanks for posting, bro!
Nice job! Good catch on the steamer. Keep it up!
I cant belive i missed it i was planning on going for months and i forgot that day !!!!! Ahh
Nice video ! Hope you enjoyed your stay here. You visited one of the best parts of England - so many visitors think london is all there is worth looking at - it certainly is NOT ! (ex GW employee)
It certainly isn't! Having been to London twice and the Southwest close to a dozen times, you're missing out if you just look at the museums in London.
You could actually feel the sound of the avenger, fg1d coursair and p-51d mustang, man the sound of that rolls royce merlin engine.
You got to railfan with Cooltrains321? Lucky...
Well, if you take a quick look around, I do a fair bit of stuff with my good friend CT. While you're at it, why don't you subscribe?
Nice catches, any investments on a tripod yet?
Actually, I just got like a $100 recently! I think my parents will let me spend it on that.
Hey man where do you go to school? I had school off a couple of weeks ago too
Both Cooltrains321 and I live in the Twin Cities, where in late January we had multiple days with highs in the -20s! One of those days was the day we did a lot of the filming for this video.
I'm in the west metro so I feel you lol. I went railfanning one of those days
Good video, looks like that F45 runs better!
Interesting horn on that unit. Thanks for uploading
It is. I'm going to find out which horn is prototypical for MSTL F7s, and then hopefully program it to be correct.
MCPR1204 You know you can't program on DC right?
I most certainly do. I'll hopefully be able to go to a club or a show and have someone program it.
Is this the Northtown Yard in Minneapolis MN?
That would be correct. I'll make sure to be more specific on my next videos. Sorry for any confusion. To be more specific, we were on the St. Anthony Pkwy bridge at the south end of the yard.
It's ok, I thought that looked a familiar, and I recognized the name
Good job on the video!
Good job!
Good camera work!
