Hello train lovers, my name is Justin and I've been a railfan my whole life. I started this channel to film some trains in my local area but my passion has only grown since then and so had this channel. You may formerly know of this channel as Central Connecticut Railfan, but I am now a student at a college in Western Pennsylvania so it was time to change the name. On this channel you'll see anything and everything trains. I go to school right near the Norfolk Southern Pittsburgh mainline so you can definitely expect so NS action. It is also within driving distance of many scenic railroads and other freight mainlines. My summers will be spent at home in Connecticut so those of you who enjoy CTrail and Amtrak action as well as shortline freight railroads, this will still be on the channel. I hope you enjoy watching my videos as much as I enjoy making them!!!
Steam in the Snow at the Valley Railroad
Merry Christmas and welcome back to the channel. Today's video takes us to Essex Connecticut to see the Valley Railroad's North Pole Express. 3 of the 4 trains were pulled by their vintage steam locomotives. What made this adventure so much more special was the snow. It was coming down pretty good and although it didn't amount to much, it definitely helped set the mood. I tried to encapsulate the Christmas spirit during this video. I hope you enjoy and as always, God Bless!!!

Happy Holidays and welcome back to the channel. Today's journey brings us to Essex Connecticut to see the Valley Railroads North Pole Express trains. This year, they are running 4 trains sets three of which have a steam locomotive as the power. They depart every 30 minutes. Today, we also got to see them switch sets as 3025 sat out the first run due to issues with its dynamo. A dynamo is essent...

Переглядів 6821 день тому
This adventure brings us to Western Maryland to chase the Polar Express Trains. Some highlights from today would be seeing freshly repainted B32-8 #539. It was also running long hood forward which was a cool catch. These units were actually designed to be run in this arrangement. If you're looking to see the train after dark, that will be in a separate video. I hope you enjoy the video and as a...

On Saturday September 7th, I made the drive over to the World Famous Horseshoe Curve to catch Norfolk Southern and Amtrak. It was a blast as always and I hope you enjoy. This was my first visit to the curve since getting the drone which definitely helped show how substantial the curve is. I hope you enjoy and as always, God Bless!!!

Переглядів 4444 місяці тому
Today's video was filmed on August 31st. I headed up to the Everett railroad to chase their Steam into the Sunset train. Unfortunately, the sunset wasn't great due to the cloudy skies but it was still a great chase to the end of the line. I hope you enjoy and as always, God Bless!!!
An Overcast Day at the East Broad Top

Todays video is a chase of EBT #16. Unfortunately this is only the 11am train as 16 had a mechanical issue causing it to be taken out of service after this train. The rest of the days trains were pulled by the EBT's M-7 diesel. This will however be featured in another video. I hope you enjoy the chase and as always, God Bless!!!

Chasing the Cumbres and Toltec Across State Lines
Переглядів 5334 місяці тому
Back In July I decided to make the trek up to Chama New Mexico to chase the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad. The power today was oil burning 2-8-2 Mikado #489. Typically, another engine would have led down the mountain however on this day at Osier they spun #489 and had it lead back to Chama. I hope you enjoy the beautiful scenery of New Mexico and Colorado and as always, God Bless!!!

I began the morning getting to watch it come up to temperature all the while doing volunteer duties. In the afternoon I rode in the tool car for the shoving move. That evening I attended a private night photo shoot. I hope you enjoy the...

On July 31st, my best friend Chandler and I drove 3 and a half hours to Chama New Mexico to ride the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad. Of course, I had to bring my camera along for the journey. This video was filmed and edited to be more causal and real so you may notice me talking and being in it more. I have to give Chandler a huge shoutout for her awesome camera work and for bringing a fre...
A Spectacular Sunset on the Clovis Subdivision
Переглядів 2128 місяців тому
I decided to try again for a beautiful sunset. This was a very successful endeavor. I spent the evening in Willard. I began with an attempt at a shot on the Willard Curve. Unfortunately the westbound I was hoping for got there just as I arrived so I could only get a shot of it next to the road. I decided since its hard to predict trains at the curve, I'd move to one of the crossings in town. Th...

I enjoy the video I really love 2926 someday I'd love to ride in the tool car and I'd love to be a part of the private events
I don’t know where you live in relation to Albuquerque but if you are at all local they are always looking for new members to help the cause. This would give you some do the opportunities that you mentioned.
@northeastrailproductions I live in Albuquerque
@northeastrailproductions and I'm already a member of 2926
Локомотивы Америки- это восторг😊💯💥 мощь и красота❤
yea good catches and video of this railroads flyer fall run
grew up hearing the sounds of steam trains-- whistles, chugging ,, bells .. memories of my childhood!! turned 83 in june 2024!!!!❤❤❤
I remember as a kid staring through the fence at her, glad to see her free to fly down the rails again
Wow, Great photo shots, video was awasome its like this engine is re-borne.! in this day and age, where do you find someone that knows how to operate an engine like that?
Our favorite place for rail fanning. It's not just the amount of trains but the sound of steel on steel and smell of brakes and sometimes the smell of the garbage trains out of New Jersey can be a shock to the nose. Rail fanning at its best Horseshoe curve in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
The whole area around it to explore. From Gallitzin Tunnels to great crossings ,& you have to go to Cassandra. Best place, a bridge over the tracks that is amazing to see & hear trains pulling hard up the West slope of the Appalachians. It's a several mile straight view.
isnt it about time they actually drive it
Beautiful video, this has to get more views!!! Great quality on the ground, and great piloting! And if you don’t mind…what drone did you use?
I’m glad to hear that and feel free to share it with others if you like it so much!!! I use a DJI Mini 3 Pro drone.
Excellent Presentation 🌹
Beautiful loco

Good video, good audio, and nice cab action. Thumbs up!
This is the frist time they actually stopped at the station normally they turn on the wye in Rockville before returning to the station
FOR 1 DOLLAR???!!!
IS that bell automatic? Or powered by a device?
Thanks for putting this together! From a huge 4-8-4 steam fan from San Diego.
Great job on 2926. Hope all goes well with the roundhouse. Also it amazes me that BNSF allows a steam engine to roll down their rails especially their main line. Well goes to show that BNSF isn't completely against steam and maybe in the future we can see more things happening if BNSF continues this path. I hope larger railways can take note from the publicity Union Pacific is drawing in by having steam running down there rails.
The rails that 2926 went on are actually New Mexico DOT tracks. The state has been very helpful with this group, since they see the potential tourism once 2926 pulls actual mainline excursions out of Albuquerque.
@@chooch1764 Interesting I thought those were still BNSF lines since Albuquerque is the main way for BNSF to go around the Rockies. So that means some are BNSF rail and some are DOT?
@@evanlawrence7289 At least through Albuquerque are state owned because of NM Rail Runner.
Thanks awesome video of #489. Oil burner now.
She's a beauty! Great catches and overall excellent video!
Now if only BNSF will use this for PR proposes like UP ,it woyld be a great tool for educating the public about railroading
This isn't me complaining by no means because I enjoy seeing this beautiful 4-8-4 in action but 2926 will probably be due for her 1472 before we get to see her on a long distance mainline excursion but for now we have to take what we can get, she's already 2+ years in.
Man I love steam engines, but I'm getting a little tired of them just blowing the whistle at every little thing. yeah I want to hear it too but okay come on
The whistle isn’t just for show, it’s also used to alert pedestrians and motorists.
Wouldn't It Be Nice If The Vandalizers Would Quit Painting On Railroad Locomotives And Railcars . It Is Not Art , It Is Vandalism
You made things wonderful good useful beautiful make human life happy you science education original God bless you and protect you ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I genuinely hope that someday y'all will bring her to Fort Worth by way of Temple for a BNSF excursion or something. Or take her to Houston by way of the Galveston Sub through Milano. (All Texas locations obviously.) Itd be absolutely BEYOND incredible if y'all could do that someday.
Us 🇺🇸 whistle very beautiful special more than European whistle,,,,,,name God on you I wish God save you
Very beautiful you made things wonderful good useful make human life happy you science education original God bless you and protect you from strangers savagery
Excellent news. Excellent video.
Absolutely beautiful! I can’t wait to see her highballing down the mainline! She is absolutely gorgeous! You did a fantastic job at documenting this piece of history. Your photos are amazing! Congratulations to the entire team that contributed to make this possible! Thank you!
Looking great. What a beauty.
She's a another Baldwin steam engine alive true survivor , thanks to everyone involved with her restoration god bless
driving on a mainline is way easier here in Germany..you simply rent the Track you wanna drive on, or use a track that isnt used by regular trains anymore, i guess you will find those in the USA aswell
We got this stupid thing called rails to trails for bicycles .and its government. And they destoyed alot of un used railroad tracks.go figire .
Will the 2926 ever get to run on the mainline with a train?
Great stuff…..thanks for sharing 👍
some trains are not meant to be converted from coal to waste oil burn. Just not right. The day will come when oil is gone and then trains that run on oil can no longer burn coal and will rust forever.
you can reverse the oil burning back to coal
well, Waste oil is cheaper than coal and you can load much more of it
@@SternenruferinPatchouli1 IF the EPA lets you!! Don't count on it. Coal is almost harder to get these days.
@@SternenruferinPatchouli1 that's one of the reasons why the train was converted to that. But converting a train back to coal power is a long and expensive process too. So once waste oil is gone.. that's the end of the era.
My god, what a beautiful 4-8-4.
I can't say how impressed I am that the team got 2926 all the way back to operational. What a journey. CONGRATULATIONS!

The beauty and the beast all in one. Magnificent!
Just beautiful. One beautiful locomotive. I always like the Baldwin design, look and sound. Great whistle.
Dad worked for AT&SF RR for 46 years.
wow and is Santa Fe 2926 ready to carry is 1st excursion passenger train.
What a beast!! Nice video. We currently have a big broad gauge 5'3 (1600mm) Northern 4-8-4 being restored to operational order here in South Australia. When completed it will be running on SteamRanger's preserved 50-mile or 80 km-long branch line between Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills down to the resort coastal town of Victor Harbor. It will be Australia's only operational Northern type when restoration is complete. It's a 200-ton 4-8-4 with a 12-wheel tender. But this thing you have here makes our 4-8-4 look like a welfare case lol. Number 520 Sir Malcolm Barclay Harvey attained a speed of 78mph on the Main North Line to Port Pirie, but from reading about your behemoth, your beauty can attain a speed over 100 mph. Very impressive. Tell me, would they ever allow 2926 to get up to that speed again? Interestingly, our 4-8-4's design almost resembles the front end of the famous T1 4-4-4-4 of the old Pennsy, which, Mr F H Harrison, Chief Mechanical Engineer of the South Australian Railways (SAR) took his inspiration from. Can't wait to see more of this beauty in action. I've subscribed today too! You're more than welcome to check out my channel if you want as well. I also volunteer in rail preservation here in SA. Very rewarding by far. Keep up the great work over there. Keep well. Regards, Caleb from South Australia!
Cheers from San Antonio, Texas.
