On December 26, 2004 one of the most devastating disasters of modern history took place. At 7:58 local time, a 9.3 earthquake hit off the coast of Meulaboh, Aceh, Indonesia. This spawned a massive tsunami which killed over 230,000 people across the Indian Ocean ocean. Many videos from that day were immortalized in infamy. Others were not. I'm here to save the less well known videos

Given the intensity of the shaking it could be Southeastern Aceh or North Sumatra. I think its likely North Sumatra because of a higher population and more development therefore more likely to have a video. The Medan area had shaking similar to what's filmed but we'll likely never know the true locations
