To be honest this is a bad take, those fly aways are split ends and trimming them like she’s doing is similar to trimming your ends ever so often to prevent split ends from travelling up your hair shaft, oiling your hair will keep it from becoming brittle and dry. No split ends is maybe a stretch but reducing them significantly is definitely possible

dry hair+ consistent oiling= hopefully no more dry hair. keeping the hair from getting dry keeps you from getting spit ends, most of the time.
