NCL Joy Thermal Suite Walkthrough - 02/23/2024 unedited
Soft opening of the thermal suite on the last day of repositioning cruise from Southampton to Miami. Note: the thermal suite was open for only two hours when this video was recorded and posted, so it will only get better in the future!
Select guests were invited to experience the new thermal suite, installed during drydock. Not all amenities were open yet (e.g. plunge pool, hot tub)
Please excuse the shaky camera. I'm sure one of the big cruise review channels will get much better footage. just wanted to get this posted for all those who may be wondering if the suite will be open for their cruises!

Install motionEye on Linux Ubuntu Using Docker

This video could (should?) be about 2 minutes long. However, it is primarily for "Future Greg" in order to save him time a year from now, when it's time to change the setup. If you find it useful too, that's great :-) Note1: I kept referring to Arduino cam but meant Raspberry Pi camera module. Note2: If you are just here for docker, the install instructions start at 5:19 Resources and prep: - L...
MicroPython for XBee Setup using XCTU
Переглядів 3,7 тис.4 роки тому
My goal with these videos is to pass along some of the most basic information you need to start experimenting with your XBee radios. These are things that weren't explained very clearly in the documentation and I couldn't find really clear, concise tutorials to get me started. You see, I'm the type of person who can really benefit from a lot of hand-holding in the very beginning when I'm learni...

XBee 3 - Join Device to a Network Using Software (AT Commands)
Переглядів 1,8 тис.4 роки тому
These instructions should work for XBee Series 2 as well. Jump to 5:00 if you don't need the background information / education. Lesson Plan: XBee - Join Device via Software Problem: You want to add a device (end_device or router) to an existing network. Solutions: 1) If the coordinator is hooked to a computer with XCTU, changing parameter NJ will open the join window for new devices. This is e...

Complete Beginner's Guide to Setup XBEE3 in Transparent Mode with Arduino
Переглядів 9 тис.4 роки тому
Everything you need to get up and running with XBEE 3 in Transparent Mode. Lesson Plan 1. Basic Setup for Transparent Mode assumes you have some familiarity with XCTU - Configure radios - Must have one-and-only-one Coordinator - You can have virtually unlimited Routers/Endpoints - What makes a radio show up as Router vs. Endpoint (Sleep Mode) - Lock radios to a single channel (this was a major ...
There’s no little pool, only a hot tub?
I would NOT have liked to be relaxing in the spa and have some 🤡 taking videos. At least blur the faces. How obnoxious!
Can anybody Please explain how to do broadcast data transmission between coordinator to router and end device… in digi XCTU ZIGBEE
I have no option coming of generating frame
You shouldn’t record people
Nice walkthrough! We're looking forward to being on this ship in 2025. New friend here.
Thanks for the lesson, I have a problem. My xbee is mounted on a My API cannot detect the xbee any help
Yeah, thank you for sharing. Do you have a list of what facilities are in Joy’s version? From the footage I think I see the cold room and a sauna in addition to a hot tub and you said it will have the pool in the description.
is there a cost to enter?
Yes. You can usually buy weekly passes for $150-200 and if they have room they sell day passes around $40-60? Sorry I don’t know exact prices but it gives you an idea at least.

IS THERE A THERMAL POOL???
no thermal pool on Joy
Wtf
No the Galaxy Pavilion is gone
We have enjoyed the non-contoured cushion seating with adjustable backs on the Escape. Is there any seating like this? I only saw the contoured chairs or the large round sofas in the video.
Okay I did notice the loungers at :18, though the don’t appear to be adjustable.
More please!!! Are the changing rooms big, they went super small, dark and only had 2 showers on the prima class.
Great video! Thanks for posting. Looking forward to my cruise on the Joy in April. Were they selling day passes? If so, what price?
No. The suite was opened only for a few hours on the last day of the repositioning cruise, so some guests were invited to a free preview, for a few hours. My understanding is that day passes will work the same as on other NCL ships...only available if all full passes are not sold out.
Awesome! Would you know if the Vibe Beach Club was also upgraded? I read somewhere that the laser tag area was being taken away to make more room for Vibe Beach Club.
Yes. Vibe has been expanded. It now includes the full width of the ship and the upper deck area previously occupied by the laser tag. It was not open for the trans-atlantic. Not sure whether that was because it's not finished or because the seas were so rough.
Did you buy the pass at guest services?
Thanks for sharing! Been waiting to see it out of dry dock.
Very good explanation, thanks!!!!
How did you get the serverbox?
Clear and concise!
Hello thank you very much for your useful video i want to ask how i can send sensor data using this configuration?
Did you contined this series somewhere else? :) There is so much more to can cover.
Hello from Japan Greg! I'd really like to say a BIG BIG thank you, because I was the one who struggled the whole month with Xbee S2C. Which this video saved my life in a hour. Thank you so much!! Love u <3
Hello Sir, I've been stuck on trying to send data from one arduino to another using xbee. I have watched a lot of youtube videos and even read a lot of documentations but I am still not able to make it work. any help?
Argh... I'm encountering an issue with /var/lib/motioneye as a "read only system". I tried playing with the permissions and creating that directory and it doesn't seem to work. I was told that I may be an ubuntu docker bug (22.04 lts server with docker snap during initial install) so I'll try again with the official docker-ce stuff. :-/
Yup. Confirmed, I had to install the repos from Docker themselves.
when you said that was a byte i was like no that's hex code.
You can write your own API to parse data. For example , in XCTU you have to specify RF Frame and Data (fixed). However, what if my data is changing by time? Solution build your own Frame structure and parse the frame. If the frame is valid, read the data after that send ACK and go on..
I just try to say in API mode you cant send 92k bytes which is the txt data to illustrate. But if you build your own frame structure it will be so easy.
@@mecitpamuk5623 Hi. ı need a help about this topic. so you say we can specify our RF frame rate etc. in XCTU. which configuration setting is this in XCTU?
it seems there's this nagging issue with their firmware where the END-POINT couldn't join the PAN ID and registered a 0x23 error on AI (from firmware 1009 up to the latest 100B). If you are certain that all settings are done correctly and yet still register AI=0x23 on XCTU, trying reseting both coordinator and end-point xBees SIMULTANEOUSLY - or if you're using the Mesh Kit simply press their on board reset button at the same time. That resolves most of if not all of my 0x23 joining issues and works better than toggling different settings or switching between firmwares. I also found hard reset by unplugging and plugging back in the xBees didn't work at all - probably due to timing issues xBees are ridiculously annoying to setup but work so well once you get them to run
In order to get coordinator's message sent and received by the router or end-point, you'll have to set the destination address of the coordinator to the broadcast address or FFFF (precisely DH=0 and DL=FFFF). Or otherwise leaving it DH=0 and DL=0, the coordinator can only receive message from but not send to the router or end-point. It's weird you get them talking to each other by leaving DH and DL value of the coordinator to its default 0.
Hello sir, I have a question here that if we want to send the data to another router how can we add the address of that router in the payload? this method is okay for coordinator but what can we do for mesh communication.
Hello sir, this is really amazing stuff but I am facing a problem in communication in API mode with Arduino but it is working perfectly in AT mode. I don't know why. I tried a lot to figure out that what's the problem but I couldn't find out. I followed your tutorial completely. Can you please help in this or can you please make a video on arduino to arduino communication through xbee API mode with or without using arduino xbee library?
#include <XBee.h> #include <SoftwareSerial.h> #define rxPin 2 #define txPin 3 SoftwareSerial xbeee = SoftwareSerial(rxPin, txPin); XBee xbee = XBee(); XBeeResponse response = XBeeResponse(); ZBRxResponse rx = ZBRxResponse(); ModemStatusResponse msr = ModemStatusResponse(); char data; int datalength; void setup() { Serial.begin(9600); xbeee.begin(9600); xbee.begin(xbeee); } void loop() { xbee.readPacket(); if (xbee.getResponse().isAvailable()) { // got something char apid=xbee.getResponse().getApiId(); Serial.println(apid); if (xbee.getResponse().getApiId() == ZB_RX_RESPONSE) { // got a zb rx packet datalength=rx.getFrameDataLength(); Serial.println(datalength); // now fill our zb rx class xbee.getResponse().getZBRxResponse(rx); //uint8_t rssi=rx.rssi(); for(int i=0; i<datalength; i++) { data=rx.getData(i); Serial.print(data); } if (rx.getOption() == ZB_PACKET_ACKNOWLEDGED) { } else { } } else if (xbee.getResponse().getApiId() == MODEM_STATUS_RESPONSE) { xbee.getResponse().getModemStatusResponse(msr); if (msr.getStatus() == ASSOCIATED) { } else if (msr.getStatus() == DISASSOCIATED) { } else { } } else { } } else if (xbee.getResponse().isError()) { } } this is receiving side. I am geting the frames when I send from the XCTU but I could not receive when send from the arduino.. can anybody help me in this regard?
Great content! Thank you. A similar video for XBee 3 Cellular LTE-M/NB-IoT modem would also be amazing.
I think there's a mistake when you use lower case ATcb instead of ATCB as your AT command. They generate different hex code and your video just happens to work because you changed the PAN ID and the end point connects with the coordinator automatically.
Digi should hire this guy to revamp their crappy and broken documentations they have. Man I wish I have come across this channel when I first started with xbee. Props!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone know why my xctu cannot discover my XBee S2C module😢
This. Is. Amazing! I've been stuck on my radio integration for months. This is stellar. Thank you!!
There's very less content on how to interface sensors with the Xbee 3 and also how to use the API mode in micropython REPL, if you could make videos on that it would be great!
Thanks for this tutorial, Greg. I found XBee 3 to be different and your videos are very helpful!
This is very useful for us. I saw your 3 Xbee video. Thanks to you. And please explain one clear video Cloud-based and data streaming-based with the Xbee S6B wifi module. I will be waiting for your next post.
If anyone else is having trouble connecting, try changing the Node Join Time (NJ) on the coordinator. It defaults to FE, which should give it a full 254 seconds to try to join, but for some reason it didn't want to connect until it was set to FF, which I believe should leave it open indefinitely. It might just be because it needed to be changed, and it didn't matter whether it was 254 or 255.
Did you ever figure out the network channel problem? I can't get mine to work at all, even with the scan mask being set
Nice video. Except you have the fonts way to small for video. I had to crank up the resolution. Zoom in. But otherwise great video.
Hi thanks for the video, I am using Xbee shield on Arduino leonardo board. And the transmission is not happening properly in my case. What could be the possible issue and please help me out with this.
Thanks Hundred Times Thanks For this Video Greg.
I am excited to try this!
Thanks, exactly what I was looking for.
you saved my time too as well
hi again in the video at minute 31:00 when you remove the XBee and re-plug it you had a problem, so I have the same but how you solve it? the XBee didn't break with you !!
hello, please i need quick help . I bought a new Digi xbee3 and this is my first use for it I just put the setting and tried to discover the network of the XBee module(it took a long time without finding any devices for that I stopped it from the stop button). after that, I remove it and plug it again but now the software can not find the module. how it can break by this easy? what I can do to recover it as it was I didn't do any interrupt process of the xbee to have like this problem with me , what I can do please I need help. Important note: I can update the firmware but I can't find the xbee3 module when I make a scan
