This was a wonderful tribute. As far as how I feel about it, I'm still in shock behind it. It did hit me pretty hard. When I heard this it was like hearing about 2Pac's passing all over again. Sometimes we see certain people as being invincible and it's just not like that. You’ve spoken some very profound things that I myself have thought upon and am myself living through here in NY. I also grew up and for most of my 38 years believing the Bible to be the absolute truth. Along my journey I’ve found that the powers that be have also had their wicked way with it. However as you have stated brother there are some truths in it. As with a lot of ancient texts. I think in some ways we were taught to look at it and basically everything else from one perspective yet not as a whole.... literal, physical, metaphysical, spiritual...... I mean there in some basic truth at the core all all beliefs because the Divine is in all of of us, just some way being on this earth we have all lost our way.... some of us strive to get back on the path to wholeness and some of us choose that our lower state befits is better. We are spiritual beings having an earthly experience. I don’t know it all but what I do know is that we are now seeing things and ppl for who and what they really are and this is just a beginning whoa, I’m from the south and lived through Katrina, Rita, and many other storms and I can tell you and anyone first hand that things like this are definitely a revelation to a lot of ppl, myself included. Because you never know what’s in a person’s heart and psychi until their back is against the wall literally. The times we are living in the prophets of old shuddered to think about, unto death they warned us, the problem is the same as today.... ppl are so quick to judge the messenger they miss the message. May The Almighty help us all cause like my granny used to say from the po house to the White House. Peace and blessings brotha upon you and your loved ones and us all 🙏🏾

Not sure how it affects my dating game (im a dude). I started my dreads over the summer and moved a few miles out to oklahoma state university. Im not sure if the change in the dating game came from the move university or from my locs... or BOTH!?!? If anything, my game has gone up because it give me a natural feeling that ive longed for. For me, because I am wearing long natural hair (has had the big fro game for at least 10 years), I feel more confident, so I feel that it offsets any negatives! Think yin and yang or something like that :P PS, ur locs ROCK!!!!

is it away to contact you I have a question...I have locs how you started yours...can I just let them grow without retwist to get freeforms?

I think the male and female experience is really different. Some people...conservatives in particular...dont like it when men have long hair period. When you add the texture of uncombed African hair to the mix...unmanicured freeform locs...i imagine the reaction is strong. I have received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback on my hair. In general people don't care if a woman has long hair, but it stands out and that HAS made people uncomfortable in the past. Mainly my family and older black people.
