The only one I don't need, the BEHRINGER VINTAGE TUBE MONSTER, sounds very good, if you like Marshall tone, Eddie is in my blood. The BK is too much in the same vein as the asymmetrical BOSS SD-1, and also unmatched for that type of overdrive. Never liked the TS9, for some reason.

The Yaqin has a ground loop that can be fixed. Its on one side because there is one tube for each channel l and r. I bought mine with the sole intention of modding it to the LESBOX. Chinese tubes are junk, as are alot of modern production tubes, most are also Chinese. I have sed winged c nickel plates in mine. But honestly mate unless you realise what the benefit of tubes are and are inputing to a tube amp and are willing to set up for it and buy new old stock tubes, you are probably better off rolling as you are. My first tube amp is a Melody SP3 anniversary edition the tubes in it are worth more than the amp cost, but that's where the difference is, the tubes you buy change the tone, unlike an integrated amp with tone controls, so it depends just how far you want to go with your music. In any case, look up the lesbox conversion, les has it out there free for all on the net, yeah it takes time and patience but I promise you it craps all over mm pre worth 5 times as much, research it and best of luck on your journey if you decide to get into bottles at some stage.

Your conclusion is my experience as well. The more gain a tube has, the less warm. The warmer a tube is, the lower gain it has. I swapped the Bugera tubes out of my Klark Teknik KT-2A for vintage Mazda and Matsushita and I lost about 20-25% gain, but it was so much warmer and rounder. Good video, thanks

Yeah, EMI and RFI can be a major irritation. There’s many things that can cause hum or noise. As I was writing this about to say try a braided cable. Check out Blue Jeans Cables if you ever need more cables. Their super low capacitance works well with a lot of cartridges. FWIW, the cable itself can be balanced, meaning it can be wired to a fit in an SE RCA plug, like in your case, or an XLR. It’s got 3 or 4 wires inside the cable. Also, a directional cable just means the shielding is soldered to the ground, but only on one side of the cable. Good luck, man.

I think you can change the strobe light color from blue to red using a dip switch located beneath the platter.

The surf green probably has lm1458 opamp bs 4559 in the blue timmy, if thats tge case its reasonable that the surf green is less harsh...check the namey of the chips
