The Birds, Bees and Where Baby Pumpkins Come From
I was just at your farm today! Loved it! Definitely will be coming back next year! You guys should start your own cat adoption center for the cats or something because those cats are adorable and super sweet! ❤ Love y’all!
Love the family prayer at the end!
What a great video!
Where do you get your potting mix from? And what kind is it?
Nice operation!
you all are living the dream, thanks for sharing these videos
6,000 , maybe you sell for average of $12.00 to $15.00 , so $72,000 to $90,000 gross if sell all of them. Maybe material cost--bucket, soil, plug comes to $3.00, so that is $18,000 cost excluding labor, water, fertilizer, tubing maintenance/replacement, equipment depreciation, property tax on land used. By my calculations, you just about break even! Rock on dude, love this video, wish I could do this or even just be a part of it. In fact, you should offer a hands on experience on the farm, people might even PAY YOU to be a part of this experience.
Yea can we elaborate on this? Was it profitable?
Beautiful farm happy to see whole family is working together
V nice bro
Jolly farmer is the BEST
Great family video, thanks for sharing. We are looking for a similar pumpkin planter that you are using in this video, can you share the make/ model. Thank you and God Bless your family farm.
Love those carts! Where do you get them?
Thanks for sharing - love this! Where do you guys get those carts? Those would be so nice in the fall when we harvest pumpkins!
What an amazing family. Happy New Year!
Great video!!
Do you answer questions or just upload the video's. What a super interesting video. Thank you for sharing. What size pots do you use for all the different sizes?
you guys have the making of a GOOD Channel but just playing music isn't gonna cut it. I know myself I like to hear people talk about what their doing and whats comming up. Just a though guys, get some talking going on looks like you have a nice groups of guys there.
Have you yet to see their other videos? This family shares so much and are amazing people!
Awesome 🤩
This video had me smiling the whole time, what a fun dad

Looking awesome! All your entertaining plans & crops are unique.
I have a very small pumpkin patch right now growing and I enjoy it so much seeing the pumpkins grow.
Thank you for sharing! So the PTO for your brush hog isn't turned on, you're just running over it with the weight of the machine, correct?
Yep....just to be clear though, its a brush hog tiller, not a cutter
@@greenefieldsfarm4133 Oh ok. Thank you and God bless!
Your pumpkins look great. Check out mine on UA-cam sometime. I post some videos under my name. Thanks for sharing. We had a giant pecan tree when we moved in our house in 1981. It was a little larger than yours. We never got any pecans off of it. No other pecan trees around it. The storm took it out and we had to have it cut down the rest of the way. it took a saw with a 72 inch bar to cut it off the stump.
Your pumpkin patch is so weed free, I’m jealous. Do you spray, and if you do what do you use?
New sub I love the small farm channels.
Wow! Great system! Live in Ohio so a big trip to come visit! Happy harvest!
Good video. New subscriber here.
We have had a very wet cool spring and we didn't even have to set up our field irrigation until after our first cutting of hay was off the field. So rare here! Now it is heating up, (100 degrees tomorrow) so pumpkins & cut flowers should start to really take off now! I wouldn't mind more rain, but I am sure we have had more than our share this year already. Praying you get just the right amount of rain to get things growing & happy.
🙂❤️
Love watching your video production level grow! You guys are getting good at this!
Praying that God will send the rain and for you and your family.
🇧🇷🤣Brasil
Nice help! I wish I had some. I did 10 acres last year by myself. Hand/foot planted and no herbicide. Got 6288 pumpkins off 10 acres. Not the greatest yield but the rain stopped in July for us in 2021. I was Picking by 8/17/21. What have you done with the planter in this video? I saw you have a new one with 2 seats in 2022.
Nice! I wish I had that system. I have planted 15 acres by hand/foot. I put fertilizer in each planting too. I just put it where I need it. Do you use a herbicide too? We use Brawl.
Impressive! So much work. It does go fast when you have lots of help though, we only grew 175 last year and not growing any this year. Maybe we will another year soon. Can't wait to see these develop as the season goes on, it will be neat to follow along. I hope to learn more.
Stone Age
It's heart ❤️ warming to see a young family work together and pray together, brings a tear to this old farmer's eye, God bless and keep you. From Northern Minnesota.
Your mum setup looks all nice and ready. I would love to know how you fertilize them. I was getting ready to order my rooted cuttings like last year and I was sourcing mum pots and potting soil and I decided that I just cannot justify the start-up costs this year, mums were a loss for me last year thanks to nibbling deer and they were just too small so I couldn't charge what I wanted to in order to be profitable. I feel relieved, and I will just put my efforts into trying ornamental kale and cabbage this year which will be cheaper to try than mums. I also added some dahlias this year in hopes to build my stock and possibly sell tubers and cut flowers one day, I thought it might be a good winter activity and income stream (dividing tubers and selling them). I love all the wagons in the boxes! Did you find a great deal or wholesale deal on them to order in bulk? I love the prayer, good reminder.:) We got our pumpkin plot landscape fabric laid this weekend, drip tape is laid out too, but not hooked up yet. I was working on taking inventory of my pumpkin plant starts (I start longer day maturity types early and direct seed everything else I can). What varieties are you finding the most productive in your setup? By far, mine are the Autumn Gold bush pumpkins, Cargo, Racer Plus and Renegade (all semi bush compact plants, but very productive). I find the bush varieties to be easier to spray since there is less mass of vines and I can get right in there to spray well. I also have tons of long vines but we spread them out a bit more this year than last year. I really like One Too Many, Jarrahdale, Polar Bear, Snowball, Warty Goblin, Miniwarts, Flat White Stackers, Indian Doll, Triamble, Early Giant, Big Moose, and I have a green and white stripe stacking pumpkin I am working on saving seed from year after year so I can build up my supply (the seeds aren't available anywhere I have found and it is not a Silver Edge squash either but it looks similar in color). I have dozens of varieties but those stand out for me. I am really excited to see how all the varieties that I ordered from Outstanding Seed do, they were spendy for a small producer like me....but I am hoping they are worth it. We only have 5 acres, and a small % of that is in fall decor crops, but it is plenty to tend to with only 1 kid around to help now, going to have to reassess when he gets busy with full-time work off-farm etc. I enjoy these updates and I hope you guys have a productive week! Sorry for such a long comment!
I love how kids are heading up projects. We did that with our kids too. They each took an interest in something and we let them be in charge of the "business" side of things with lots of guidance from us if needed. Our oldest daughter headed up meat chickens for several years (we raised 600/year and she also started our farm decor side of things when shestarted with growing gourds), our two middle sons did the pigs, and our youngest loved raising turkeys. We cut back on the raising animals now that half the kids are grown & moved out. Now we mostly focus on boarding horses, we have our 3.5 acre field cut for hay, our personal garden to put up food for winter, and fall decor crops to sell with pumpkins, gourds, squash, indian corn, and winter squash. I LOVE growing fall decor crops and I am trying to figure out how we can keep doing it even after our kids all move out. We were just working in laying out the landscape fabric in our pumpkin plot this weekend. I love that you grow flowers & veggies in the garden. I do that too! Your garden is beautiful. I hope you guys have an amazing growing season and that you all get to enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Hey, love seeing what you guys are up to! I am amazed at all you are accomplishing! Blessings to you and yours!!
New subscriber here....We grow fall decor crops on a smaller scale than you guys. We absolutely love growing it and seeing our customers each fall. I did potted mums for the first time last year with so-so results. They weren't as big as I hoped, but people seemed to like them. Debating on if I want to do that many mums again. I would like to try adding some potted ornamental kale & cabbage this year. We are trying some new pumpkin varieties from Outstanding Seed and I am most excited about Calico Belle variety! I look forward to your updates as the season goes on. How long is your pumpkin patch open (weeks)? Do you battle squash bugs?
Hi Julie, thanks for subscribing. One of the many blessings of the patch is getting to know other pumpkin farmers. What is the name of your patch? Mums are fickle. Its seriously like having another child (or four) to take care of once we plant them....they own us for the summer! To get big they take lots of fertilizer. Feel free to give Christie a call (her number is on our website) if you'd like to chat more about them. We are trying ornamental kale this year too...along with potted zinnias and asters. We grow all the cool stuff from Outstanding as well. Calico bell looks awesome...I just hope it yields. Yes, we most definitely battle squash bugs and just about every cucurbit disease known to man. Its a wild ride!
Love the planter! I want to build one too! Did you just build from imagination? Or did you have plans?
Hi Emmanuel, we gathered some ideas for the planter from other farmers on UA-cam and mixed that together with some of our own past experiences to come up with the design. The guts of it is based around a row unit off a corn planter.
@@greenefieldsfarm4133 awesome! any chance you can send me a photo? i would love to build one for next year!
Great video good to see the boys getting involved trying pumpkins this year for the first time, (72) new farmer
I like this video so much!
