How easy will it be to make new foreigners/Expats friends in this new city? How about local ones? How's the dating scene?
I explore these categories and rate each city I explore (while traveling on my motorcycle) as I live in them for a MINIMUM of one month during this series I call: GenericExpats

Amazing bro ,
It’s absolutely fascinating living in the USA and the subject of healthcare isn’t even a concern. What a luxury!
@sandiemann3860 im confused. Healthcare isnt a concern in USA?
@ I meant not a topic of concern in Ecuador. I’m currently in the process applying for temporary Ecuadorian visa and so looking forward to the IESS affordable healthcare system.
Great place
those prices are crazy even for me as salvadorian, government has to regulate those prices to a fair price
I can’t take advice from someone that wears his hat like that 😂 no diddy
@topmeoff nooone is forcing you to, "Mr. Fashionista." On to the next
@ just constructive criticism. Always listen to what people say. Not telling you to fix your hat. But maybe you should 🤷♂️, but everyone has their own story. Maybe there is a reason you wear it like that. That information I’m not privy to. But just constructive criticism brother. No hard feelings
Hey this video helped make me decide to go forward with my Ecuador trip! 36:00 I feel safe travelling, been backpacking for years...... but my friend wants to drive and camp along the way (wild free camping) I am going to convince him to stay in hostels for some places for safety The few scary stories out of Ecuador and Colombia almost scared me away, until I realized that its statistically not that dangerous, I was just getting sucked into the fear mongering............ In Medellin I don't use apps and don't like prostitutes, watch my drink etc............ in both Colombia and Ecuador no driving at night and only wild camp in safe places, pay to camp or hostels for most places especially for the social aspect and safety
@tremblence im so glad that my videos help break down the realities of the situation. Ecuador is super underrated (especially when social issues exist that don't actually affect us expats/travelers/immigrants.) I made this video at the beginning of the 3 months i spent in Ecuador in 2024 and im glad i went it was a blast
Do you think driving from Ecuador to Medellin (roadtrip) is safe enough? Or not worth the drive? (risk, robbery, landslides etc) I'm White but speak fluent spanish, my friend is from Peru, plenty of backpacking experience
Im currently driving north from Peru through Ecuador and up to Colombia's coffee region (Pereira). Ive already done the same trip going south. Its fine. Take main roads and dont drive at night to avoid any risk with what you asked about
@@livingabroadwitheric Yo thx a bunch man, Seriously its so nice to have some feedback I figured its safe enough, seeing videos of older couples doing the trip on a motorcycle etc
But manana doesn't mean tomorrow, It means not today.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wooooo, Mindo! As a bird nerd I am jealous. Ecuador has twice the number of bird species found in the US in a much smaller area. Over half the bird species in the US, I will not find in my area.
Yes finding birds in Colombia/Ecuador is a real treat
I'm in the US, looking at Ecuador but, haven't been there yet. The hope is to sell my house, put some stuff in a storage unit and explore my options. I know I don't want to stay in this house. I knew about the Amazon in Ecuador deal and I would need a few things that would be better bought from Amazon than bringing with me on a plane. I would want a cast iron skillet and some good knives. I'd like a skillet made in Colombia and knives made in Brazil and it seems nonsensical to buy them shipped from the US. I would have to have a motorcycle in Ecuador, Loncin or Voge 300 Rally but, I don't know how riding to Colombia or Brazil would work. I understand it may not be necessary or cost efficient but, it might be fun.
@jerrym3261 buy the local stuff when you arrive (brazil/colombia) and if you plan on living in colombia then you will have to import it so buying locally is a better option again
If you're just planning a few trips then you can ship by containers or drive it down like i did
@@livingabroadwitheric Even though I have lots of stuff, I don't use much stuff. The cost of a container or paying to cross the Darien Gap would not be worth it. Also, I don't think I can import a vehicle to Ecuador.
@@jerrym3261 yes if youre thinking of living in ecuador, buy a bike there with ecuadorian plates. Ive heard its different to import yea
@@livingabroadwitheric I'm thinking a Loncin or Voge 300 Rally would be great for Ecuador, short distances and off-road capable. I can't have either in the US, much less buy. Some Europeans prefer them to Honda CRF 300 Rally, they're that good and cheap if bought in Ecuador. $3200 US for the Loncin (carburetor), $5150 for the Voge (EFI).
Looking forward to see you next week Yernito ❤
Estoy visitando santa Rosa en este momento. Ojala la próxima vez puédalos vernos!!! 😊
Good luck! Hope to see some interviews with women. Maybe you have some in process. I lived in Cochabamba doing volunteer work a while back
@mlsaulnier i have done a few interviews with women (Guatemala, El Salvador, Colombia) and yea have a few more thatll be coming out soon 😀 I was hoping to get you on the channel but time ran out hahha 😅
Fantastic, was hoping to find a specialist like this for my way down trip to Ushuia. The storage option is also very good to know you can do in case you run into an emergency or just need to go back home for Holidays and etc. Will definitely be giving them a call.
Are you starting in USA or where? Definitely give Teofilio and his team a call! They're great
@ Will be starting in Clemson, South Carolina. I am hoping they can transport the bike to Buenos Aires. From there I’ll go down to Ushuia and just work myself back home without Schedule. Will be launching a UA-cam channel as well. Great stuff Eric this is helpful.
@derekfranco2465 when will you start the trip?
Great video, welcome and enjoy Ecuador 🤗🇪🇨
@jsmartinezec Thanks so much. Are you from Ecuador?
@livingabroadwitheric 😉 Yes my friend, I am living in Loja, you are welcome to visit my city.
Let’s see it all! Manta looks nice! 👍🏻

Have you ordered Amazon in Latam? Taken advantage of this 4x4 system in Ecuador? Let us know here!
If you have your Ecuador address listed as the shipping address with Amazon, the website will tell you which products are eligible for the shipping policies (all aren't). Good video.
@@SophisticatedBob good point! I forgot to post about the searching and purchasing process. Seemed pretty intuitive to me
Great for y’all to be able to do that meanwhile a Honduran can’t do the same thing!
You can say that about anyone doing anything, anywhere. According to your logic noone should do ANYTHING ANYWHERE THEN, EH? Dont hate the player, hate the game.

Hi Elton. I'm in Canada and I'm going to Nic at the end of the month. Crossing the land border through CR. I want to bring my mini drone. How did you get yours in the country? I've heard it's easy just to put the stuff in some baggy pant pockets and Bob's your uncle. What do you think? Marlon.

It has a bad reputation for its bad neighborhoods but i haven't seen any bad news about the nicer neighborhoods. I had absolutely no issue in the 2 days i spent there in 2024 with Nataly
Houses in Plaza Lagos are very very very expensive!
@@jdsantibanez i agree. I would have liked to have done a house tour there. Sadly didnt have enough time
@livingabroadwitheric Unless some resident invited you, they wouldn't let you in.
@@jdsantibanez yessir i make contacts easily
That's Samborondón. And it's not part of Guayaquil. It belongs to another municipality.
@@jdsantibanez yep I wrote that in the video
It sounds that Guayaquil has a bad reputation and samborondon is extremelly rich in relation to the whole Ecuador
@@21jfreloNot really. There are very expensive neighborhoods in all Ecuadorian cities, as in any city in the world. The actual town of Samborondón is small and really not wealthy at all. But many modern gated communities started to develop on the town's periphery, which made Samborondón now to be considered a place for people with money. But the actual town of Samborondón is not.
