Love the look of these, do you have a direct link?
hey great vid, what is the size of the ben sherman jacket, and how long are the sleeves?
I bought a pair of 11th anniversary jeans from MBBCAR and they look really good
Hello there! I received mine a few days ago. At the moment, without having soaked it, it fits just right imo. Do you think that if I cold soak it for half an hour will help in avoiding excessive shrinkage? Thanks for this video anyhow, it helped me even before buying the jacket
I reckon those Lee jeans look best. Maybe because they're a bit more beat up? I work as a picture framer. I'm always getting covered in sanding dust. I'm reluctant to wear jeans that have a higher price tag as workwear. As a gardener how grubby do yours get?
They do get pretty dirty but I am surprised at how much of the muck will just dust off, particularly once it's dried off. I don't to wash them much, because I'm trying to get more defined fades, but when I do wash them they come up pretty clean, even the grass stains tend to come out.
never stop learning, thank you . UK👍
Any update on this jacket? Any fades?
No real fades as yet, I haven’t really had the opportunity to wear it as much as I’d like and jackets take longer to fade than jeans as well.
I have a green and a burgundy Harrington. Not a Combat. Different British brand. I've been wearing the green one this year. I like it the more I wear it. Great jacket. It will never go out of style.
@@razor6552 I love my Harringtons too, they’re such a versatile jacket.
Nice review. Is the belt from SauceZhan?
No the belt is from an AliExpress store called Cow Traveller Store. It’s their Vegetable Tanned Leather Genuine Full-Grain Handmade Belt. a.aliexpress.com/_mOhCX7Q
Отличные рубашки!
Thanks, I’m hoping to do an updated list for spring/autumn when I get the time.
Did you come across any issues with the white weft or white selvedge turning blue from the wash? I recently washed my raw selvedge denim and both the weft and selvedge got dyed blue pretty badly from the wash. Not too sure what I did wrong.
Hi @uncannyfox No I didn’t have any issues with the dye transfer. I did give them an initial soak so that may have removed some of the excess indigo before I gave them their first proper wash. It could also be that the particular pair you had were just an extra heavily dyed batch.
Excellent video. Some really cool history here. I'm about to get a Ben Nevis Combat g9. Could you share your height and weight? Trying to find a reference for sizing as I'm usually between medium and large.
I’m 170cm (5’7”) tall and 80kg (176 lbs) and my Ben Nevis Combat is a medium. It’s definitely a roomier fit that the Barracuta and the Ben Sherman harringtons
@@TheTwistedHazel i like the looser fit of the combat. Im 177 cm, 80 kg. I wonder if i should go for the L size
How are your shoes holding? I got two pairs from Maden. One similar to what you showed (i do wish however that the suede parts are lighter, like the ones from Beckett Simonon). The other one is basically light gray suede, darker gray suede front overlay, and leather black stripes at the back and sides, and yellow transparent soles. I'm not sure about the durability yet but they're pretty well made
Mine are holding up well but I tend to only wear them occasionally. They’re not the softest under foot and my feet feel it if I’m walking around in them all day. I do want to upgrade to a more premium alternative, I’ve currently got my eyes on a pair from Oliver Cabell that I’ve read are extremely well made.
I just received this after getting quite a good deal on Aliexpress. It's larger than I usually prefer but the sub-dials are actual large enough to read for my old eyes. I have a nice Citizen Ecodrive Chronograph with the same sub-dial set up but the numbers are too small to read... size does matter lol! Case is definitely stainless steel (some very nice brushing on the sides). Screw down back with no screw down crown should give 100m water resistance. With the leather strap, it won't see any more water then maybe a spash of rain. The watch is somewhat of an homage to the Tissot PRS 516 Extreme but with a larger dial, the tachymeter being moved from outside the dial to inside the case. Thank you for the very thorough review. I do recommend this watch to anyone who wants a chronograph that has legible dials.
Thank you so much for the comment. I wear it quite often for work (I’m a gardener by trade) and I ended up changing out the leather strap for a silicone one. As you can imagine it has to deal with getting wet and dirty and it’s still going strong. I’d love to get a stainless steel bracelet with curved end links for it but it’s tricky to find the right size & fit at an affordable price.
Great
Thank you 🙏
Hi mate, great vid. I'm about to pull the trigger on a pair as they're only $45 at the moment. Problem is they only have my size not a size up. What do you think? How did they go with some wear? Were you still glad you sized up or did they stretch a bit? Cheers
Sorry if my reply is too late but I’d definitely recommend sizing up, especially if you have a slightly wider foot or large big toes. Thanks for watching
It's ok, I went ahead and got my size and they fit perfectly.
@@billyhong5071 glad to hear 👍

Ice Breaker ???? you need you an Iron Heart !!!
and UES Japan !!!! you're missing the best flannels on the market
I love the Ironheart flannels, I’ve tried some on and love their feel but they’re just too expensive for my budget.
@@TheTwistedHazel I thought so too .... but after getting one .. Its worth it to sell every one of your other flannels to get just one Iron Heart
Its a stunning repro, so much better than the Lvc version with the wrong pockets placing and most of the japanese repros which mostly to long. Fantastic denim. Don't be shy to wash with 60 degrees if its to roomy. It will shrink. I wear size 40 with 75kg and 174cm. Correct length like a original.
Thanks. I have ended up washing it and putting it through the dryer. I fits much better now, it’s still roomy but that’s typical of the type 2 jacket. The sleeves are still a bit long on me but that’s almost always the case for me being a shorter guy.
Thanks for the review 😊. It really was helpful in deciding if i am gonna buy it or not. Thanks
Thanks, I’m glad I could help
Amzon link?
They’ve actually come down in price at amzn.asia/d/aqHphux
Good video mate
Thanks, glad you liked it
super cool to see more high detail brands popping up, thanks for sharing!
Thank you, glad you liked it.
What a fantastic jacket! And your watch is great
Thank you. I couldn’t believe it when I found the jacket and it was only $18. It’s missing some buttons at the front but they’re easily replaced. The watch is also very inexpensive from AliExpress.
I don’t know your name but you are an icon! Keep it up. I rate the fit 🫶
Thank you so much. That’s really kind.
Very cool
Thank you 🙏

Are the pockets deep enough for a modern phone ?
I have an IPhone 13 Pro which is about 15cm long, the front pockets are deep enough for the phone but it sticks out a little bit in the back pockets
@@TheTwistedHazelnice ! For me that’s perfect😄 & also from what I saw in the waist measurements the vintage run bit small? Or shrinkage from hot water my guess ???
@@TheTwistedHazel well I want to say maybe it was that of them being washed in hot water . I’m seeing a brand new vintage pair (75-80 maybe) just waiting on measurements to see how compared to sizing with my other jeans to see if it’ll be perfect for my boots
Yeah I would always get the actual measurements before buying because even deadstock vintage the sizing could be odd.
@@TheTwistedHazel I got sent the pics today and for it being brand new and putting once again around it being from 1975-1985 ( ish) , they do run bit smaller then the modern ones and they aren’t even the slim fit style either just cowboy straight leg & also from what I saw in your video even the vintage ones had a nice high waisted style too, right ?
How do you figure out when they were manufactured?
It’s actually the care label that helped me identify their age. I’ve done a full review of them where I go through this in more detail ua-cam.com/video/oUa4t1ogKwc/v-deo.html I got the information originally from @LootFam who have a fantastic video on identifying vintage Wranglers
@@TheTwistedHazel thank you for that info & I’ll check out that video you put in the link . Also I’ll check out loots video & also if it’s used , you do the Lysol laundry sanitizing or just regular wash and line dry??
@@TheTwistedHazelthat video helped a lot thanks !
I don’t give a rats ass who does for the jeans I buy, it’s just posturing for the company and for picky buyers
Ok
i have their type 1 jacket in black selvedge. it's pretty good value. not sure if it's real selvedge but whatever. it's semi cropped and kinda boxy.
The type 1 and type 2 jackets do tend to be a bit boxy as they were originally designed as workwear. I’ve got a type 2 from Bronson and it’s definitely a roomy/boxy fit. I’m pretty impressed with the denim of these jeans, I’m no expert but the Selvedge looks genuine to me. I just got them hemmed at a specialist denim store and they were impressed by the quality as well.

Broken Twill was introduced in the mid 60s by Wrangler, not the 40s. Naked and Fmous do broken twill from time to time, check out their Elephant 11 Broken Twill.
Thanks for the info. I did see that Naked and Famous do broken twill, I’d love to check them out but you can only get them online in Australia. There’s also a Chinese brand called Second Order that I believe do Selvedge broken twill as well.
Loving the outfit 🎉
Thanks, glad you like it
Not selvage then?
No, Wranglers moved away from using selvage denim some time in the early 60s. Wrangler does have an archive range which replicates their vintage styles from this time and they have some models which are made from Japanese selvage.
Great video. Great timing. I bought a pair of new wrangler original cowboy cut jeans yesterday. I’m based in Queensland. They are probably the nicest pair I own. I have rm Williams, lees, evisu and rrl. These have the nicest fit in terms of rise and width and comfort
I really have been impressed with their fit, I love my Lee 102 jeans but I keep going back to these vintage Wranglers. Maybe it’s just because they’ve already been worn in but the denim just feels comfortable and robust, not to mention I’m loving the 70’s 80’s vibes they’re giving me.
😂
🤔
Do you know per chance if they make a version of that black heavyweight T shirt without the chest pocket ?
No unfortunately it doesn’t look like they do this particular t-shirt without the pocket. They do have this option without the pocket: a.aliexpress.com/_m0SUefw It’s 310gsm/9oz in weight so not as heavy as this pocket tee but still what I would class as a heavyweight t-shirt
@@TheTwistedHazel You’re a legend, thank you for taking the time to find that for me i appreciate it!
Always happy to help 👍
This Lee jacket would be the outfit I would most like to have but here in my country it is very difficult to find
Yes the Lee Jackets are hard to come by in Australia as well, it’s one of the reasons I bought this Simwood jacket as it’s a good alternative. There’s also a Storm Rider style jacket that’s made by Red Tornado brand on AliExpress, I’ve had my eye on it for a while but they appear to be out of stock for the moment.
Great pair of jeans. For some it would seem like it was too big for you but I suffer from the same problem, if you buy a smaller size it becomes very tight and uncomfortable.
They’re certainly not as slim in the thigh as some boot cut jeans, definitely roomier than Wranglers, but I do like being able to get may hands in the pockets without it being a struggle. It would have been nice to compare the 33 to the 34 but ai wasn’t going through the hassle of sending them back to Japan for an exchange.
@@TheTwistedHazel I also ended up with the pants I bought online in the wrong size. I still can't choose the right measurements. The best thing is without a doubt to try it in the store before buying. I would like to have the right size of legs to fit neatly into pants. Sometimes it looks good on the legs but doesn't fit around the waist. I only have access to pants from more well-known brands, but with a lot of model limitations, the Levi's 501 36x34 is too big for me. The ideal would be a 34x32 but I found it tight when I tried it on in the store. I really liked the softness of the cotton without elastane
NICE
Thanks, glad you like.
Classic look 👌👌👌👌💯💯
Hi. Nice gift. But it looks like a Levis trucker jacket tho..?
Thanks and well spotted. Yes this is actually a reproduction of the Levis 507xx type 2 jacket from 1954. This was the precursor to the current type 3 Levis trucker jacket which was introduced in 1962.
@@TheTwistedHazel Is there any advantages of buying it from Bronson? I mean I assume you had no options since it was a gift for you. Let me know :D
If you’re comparing like with like then the Bronson is significantly cheaper than Levis, currently on the Levis website a type 2 jacket in raw selvage denim will cost AUD$440 (on special) where as you can get the Bronson on AliExpress for about AUD$180. If you’re comparing to a different type of denim jacket then it’s really depends on what style and features you’re after.
Nice outfit and cute dog
Thanks, she does like to be involved.
Thank you. I’m really glad I could be of help. Despite some of my complaints, I do still enjoy this watch, I’ve just added a better leather band and matching gold buckle which makes a big difference.
Bro my W is 34 but i ordered 33 due to sale . Am i gonna regret this😢😢😢
Waist 34, what size should I get?
@@kkkk-nt5pr I found out W33 but real size is 34 which is okay . since it is skinny i recommned u buy 34
As it’s a regular straight fit they are a bit more forgiving in size. I was a 32 when I bought these, I’ve recently gained some weight and am now a size 33 but I can still wear these fine. They will stretch a bit over time, especially after a couple washes.
Стирать джинсы в машинке? Идиотизм!
Is that sarcasm or denim purity? All opinions welcome 😀
Machine wash inside out without spin cycle is how you’re supposed to wash them.
Good content thanks. Really like the bright green jacket. Looks good on you. Cheers.
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed it. When I was at Ben Nevis clothing I was tossing up between the racing green and the army green, which also looked awesome, but in the end I needed something a bit brighter so the racing green won out (also it’s a very iconic British colour).
@@AndrewGrant-bx5gz I have a bright green one like this. The more I wear it, the more I like it.
My nudie jeans faded unevenly. One leg has faded way more than the other and the pocket on the faded one has the same color and texture as the other darker leg. So weird :(
Strange indeed, although with older more traditional crafts you do tend to have less guarantee of material uniformity. At the end of the day you’ve at least got a unique pair of jeans.
Really cool design, but..
But it is a cheap watch, and you get what you pay for.
