@@chrisbeerad8835 thanks for watching and good luck with your new gun, love mine.
I Been looking at getting one of them guns for hunting have you shot it much
Yes it’s shoots everything, no Malfunctions at all and it’s pretty accurate. I love mine, thanks for watching.
@@sprucehilloutdoors think you
This is my home water. Although I fish it from a kayak. Really good trout water!
Awesome and thanks for sharing.
I have that same rest it’s not made for target shooting try with a bag or a Caldwell led sled
Hmmm maybe it just needed a little fouling in the barrel? Or it's breaking in.... or it thinks it's a Winchester lol or just wants to put the hammer down.
Gave you another sub - I have a channel under a different account approaching 400 subs - so I try and help other new channels out. I just hope I don't go out and buy one of these R95's after watching... lol I do like them but I really don't need another gun... (did I say that? lol)
Thanks for watching and for the comment, I’ll return the favor.
Ppu 170-150gr Winchester Power points 170-150gr Federal Blue box 170 gr Federal Fusion 170gr Hornady FTX - 160gr 3030s
Nice lunch haul on trout magnet
Thanks for the comment and for watching the video, it was a good day fishing with the trout magnet. Smoking those trout later today.
@@sprucehilloutdoors They are so good when cooked or smoked right after the catch.
... they're both (Federal & Remington ammo) 50 -75 yd loads MAX
Yea the Remington I didn’t care for but the Federal shot well at 50 yards. Thanks for watching and your comment.
I've got two of these, 357 mag. one has a black barrel, like yours, the other is stainless steel. The sites on the stainless steel rifle was lined up PERFECTLY. But I still replaced the rear sites with the same ones you have just because it's easier to see. The black one was shooting a little low, but I adjusted it, and it's dead on. LOVE THEM BOTH. I sold my Henry's just so I could be the second Rossi.
H335 works well in my 30/30 .
Thanks for the comment and for watching my video, maybe I’ll give that a shot and see how it works out in mine. Thanks again for mentioning that powder, I believe I was trying to decide between that one and the IMR 4064. I’ll have to give it a try.
Probably the best the gun can shoot..
I haven’t found any loads that really shoot that well in my R95. I’ve tried 7 different loads and It’s a 2 MOA gun at best. Good enough I guess.
Really, wow… mine shoots serval of the factory loads well. The Federal Blue box put three in the same hole at 50 yards. I’m getting ready to try some reloads to see how they shoot.
just came across your channel and new friend as I am trying to start carving, there is a lot to it and its great to have others share their work and skills, thank you for sharing
Thanks for the comment and for watching my video. Good luck with your carving, it’s a good hobby.
Range day today. Rossi SS R92, ,357 mag, 16" barrel. I shot .38 Specials, 158 gr semi wad ctr, .38 Spcl P+. 158 gr Hornady, and .357 mag, 158 grain Sierra, all my handloads. All functioned well feeding and ejecting. The loading gate, at times was an issue, but it was the first time out. At 50 yards of the bench, the .357 mag load was a 4" group, high. Adjusted rear sight and 4" group in the black. The only thing I did was paint the front sight florescent orange. I'm 74 and do not wear glasses to shoot.
I love a fishing day that I don’t get skunked!
Thanks for the comment & for watching my video. Yes a fishing day is great, I don’t get enough of them anymore.
Your rifles breaking in finally had a Ruger m77 300 Winchester Magnum after I put a couple boxes through it and that thing shot amazing at first I was kind of hand it's under the 2 in of 150 and 150 175 yards and then I got to where I would shoot for 500 yd with it and a 2-in patterns I wish I still had pictures of it cuz it was true 2-in off the bench sandbag good 😮
Thanks for the comment and for watching my video.
Summary 100 yard exemplary perfomance: 1. Hammer Down 150 2. XP 150 3. Fusion 150 50 yard satisfactory performance remingtons corelokt and bluebox feds 150 170g not worth
I read most deer are shot at 50 yards
great video thanks
Good video! Very well done. It seems like no one wants to shoot for accuracy anymore and I am glad to see someone bucking the "ringing steel" mold. I might have to try some of those rounds. But my 16" barrel Tipple X Rossi shoots sub MOA with the 150gr Rem Core-Lokt. And with a low powered thick reticle scope to boot. The 170gr looked like your first group. 160gr LeverEvolution not good either. I reload anyway, but I like to try to match velocity, bullet weight and profile as close as I can to something that shoots well. And as far as I know Core-Lokt bullets aren't available anymore. The Rossi R95 is a winner in my book. A 20" wood furniture is in my future. Subscribed. Keep 'em coming.
Thanks for the comment and for watching my video, it is an awesome rifle and the actions on these things are like butter.
I just got the R95 trapper and I’m floored by how well it shoots. I kept iron sights on mine and it absolutely loves the 160 grain FTX over leverevolution powder. I’m not really a fan of short barrels so I didn’t have much hope for it (it was a gift) but I quickly changed my tune after shooting it.
@@nortah Nice. I almost pulled the trigger on one in 45-70 earlier this week... but the very lightly used Henry 45-70 with 18" barrel won out. If the Henry hadn't been a side gate model I would have had another Rossi R95.
enjoyed the video and thanks for using several manufacturers . Its been my experience on my rifles that the groups will tighten up after the barrel gets dirty , would be interesting if you went back to the first round you tested and tried it before cleaning your rifle.
Thanks for the comment and for watching the video, I actually did reshoot the first two in a separate video. One was surprising and put three shots in the same hole.
Nice video, i buy the same gun this month, but just can test the core lockt 170 greins and hornady 160 grains lever evolution, shoots great whit bouth. Last sunday i made my first hunt whit him and catch 2 axis does and a realy good wild boar, the Remington stop him on the run no problem. Hope can test diferent ammo on the future, but in my country is really hard to get and expensive
Good luck with your test and good hunting, we don’t have axis deer or wild boar here but they would be fun to hunt. Thanks for the comment and for watching my video.
You should not change your sight settings in the middle of a test like this! Leave you sight sight setting the way it is and then sight your rifle in with the best grouping ammo.
Thanks for the comment and for watching my video, I did not change my sights on my next video until I was done shooting all the ammo.
At 50 yards, most of your bullets are on the way UP from the bore to the line of sight, so almost every one will be at a similar elevation. As you get farther out, the bullets will begin to show their differences in velocity, ballistic coefficient, and point of impact in a significant way. If you could shoot your groups at the farthest range you would be hunting, THEN you can determine which loading will work best from your rifle. If your average shot is only 50 yards, the choice between those 4 could be based on lowest price and highest availability. Good luck on your futher testing.
Glad they shot better, but I think I might still have to go with the Winch XP or one of the other two. Have you found anything you don't care for about the rifle ?
No I have found nothing bad about the rifle, the wood is nice and the fit and finish is nice. The action is great and the trigger is crisp, it shoots great and I have no complaints.
The chicks are lookin' great, keep us updated so we can see how the mixes turned out and what they look like. Nice brooder box too, I built one too about the same size but i like yours better 😅 What i really like is the lamp post you built on to it, that heat lamp hangs perfectly! I couldn't get mine to hang the way I wanted so I ended up getting heater plates. Another good heat source i used were some seedling heat mats, they are really safe waterproof and gently warm under the shavings and with the heat plates above them it worked for me. Thanks again 😊
Thanks again for the comment, I do plan to update everyone after they get all their feathers & I can move them outside.
Love it, thanks for sharing it with us! I've (my incubator) hatched abunch of eggs we've ordered off of ebay last year but today we've finally set our own Bielefelders eggs and are so excited! Spring is in the air and the two boys just turned one and are tag teaming their six ladies so it was time to gather up some fertile eggs. You had a great hatch, hope ours is as good as yours 😊 and thanks again for sharing your joy with all of us ❤
Thanks for the comment and for watching the video, good luck with your hatching.
I think I would have to shoot the 150 gr Rem & Fed Power Shok (blue box) again just to make sure since those were your first two shots. Also, be careful with the Hammer Down & Fusion ammo because if I'm not mistaken I believe they are a bonded bullet. Not saying they aren't good loads but with 30-30 velocities Id be concerned with their expansion, and possibly not having good blood trails. I would have to lean towards the Winchester XP or the Rem 170 gr loads if the other two don't group better. Been considering a Rossi myself, thanks for posting
Thanks for the comment, I did another video and did reshoot both of them and the Federal did very well.
Sorry missed that video@@sprucehilloutdoors
Just a question, are you putting the front sight bead in the little U at the bottom of the rear sight ? That's were it should be.
I did bury all the way down and even put half a bead below and it still shot high. With the new sights it’s dead on now. Thanks for the comment and for watching the video.
I enjoyed the video, thanks@@sprucehilloutdoors I enjoyed the video. Thanks for posting it. I have the exact same rifle and replaced my front and rear sight. Rear with a Marbles Bullseye so I also had to put a higher front sight on it.
Just curious, what weight bullet were you using? Factory or reload?
@@user-tu9pq3yx3n I was using a 158 grain factory load.
Pretty good for as windy as it is! good job!
Thanks for the comment and for watching my video.
nice comparison I've got the Rossi R95 also I'll use your info next time i get some ammo !
That was the purpose of the test, cost me some money but could save some for other folks.
Hatching eggs is very exciting! 🐤🐣🐤
Yes I enjoy it, hatching some Bantams here in a couple weeks. Thanks for watching 😊
Would have been nice to see you shoot the Remington or the Blue box again. I was wondering if the Barrel fouling was improving the accuracy.
...or the shooter was getting more comfortable with his setup?
Doesn't changing the setting on the telescope potentially affect the point of impact? The Remington and Blue should have been re-tedted with the new setting and also the barrel would have warmed up by then? Just asking? 😮
I do something similar with power carving ❤
Thanks for the comment and for watching the video.
@@sprucehilloutdoors it’s a wonderful hobby
Expensive test in these times , much appreciated, it’s good to know what your gun likes best, happy hunting’
It was an expensive test but necessary to make sure I make a good shot when I get the chance. Thanks for the comment and for watching my video.
Like your channel. I have my 3 acre homestead here in SW Oklahoma, I hatch exotic chickens and emu's. I also sell hatching eggs, chicks and emu's. Happy hatching my friend. Glad I found you.
It’s a great hobby and I enjoy hatching the chicks and watching them grow. Thanks for the comment and for watching my video.
Nice job ..Very creative ..Thank you for sharing
Thank you for the comment and for watching.
Is any of your 357 brass bulging near the rim?
No I have not had any problems like that, the only issue I had was the sights shooting to high.
