ANGIN KALIMANTAN | The Wind of Kalimantan | Poem
Borneo is the third largest island in the world, Kalimantan is the Indonesian part of Borneo. Some believe "Kalimantan" means land of many reasons. I was inspired by Kalimantan and wanted to write this poem to express the troubles it is facing environmentally.
Let us not forget that Kalimantan's troubles, are our troubles. Kalimantan's tropical forests support ecosystems that form the very warp and weft of life systems as we know it.
I hope to enjoy my poem. Please comment below any thoughts/feelings. Thank you so much for watching and listening.

Watch the story of a remarkable relationship between two great ape species; one man and one male Bornean orangutan. Set in the humid peat swamp forests of Central Kalimantan, Borneo. Gendut defies stereotypical orangutan behaviour, he is feared by many. One man, Isa, risked 2000 days of bravery and danger to develop a totally unique relationship between "orang" and "orangutan". In doing so, the...

The antler lock is well known in stags yet not much is known about the dark patches under deer eyes. These are in fact the post-orbital glands and have a range of important functions for all members; stags and does, adults and infants!
So is Gendut still alive ???
Bless you, Isa!
Great video
They are not people. Bunch of dung eating rapists.
Lost person on the forest??? Red ape named a men...
Betapa menyedihkan. Semoga Gendut selamat dan hidup senang, selayaknya orangutan hidup di habitatnya.
Did Gendut came back at all ???
I hate to say this, he might be dead. Fighting among males for a female is worse than fighting for food. That is life for an Orang in the wild. But I am sure the male Orangs will fight even if they are inside a sanctuary. I wonder how people separate 2 male Orangs fighting.
Poor Isa 😢
so beautiful and amazing. And the ring he made, oh my world. just stunning. I will buy some of the rings. Thank you for all you do.
Beautiful documentary. I’ll always wonder about the lost person of the forest
I find them beautiful. Something about the innocence of the babies melts my heart.
awesome film! always heartbreaking to see that beautiful forest getting wrecked by human filth
Orangutans are not aggressive. This video makes it sound like they are killers when they aren't.
Indonesia 🇮🇩❤️
powerful documentary. i might have shed tears at the end!
Ridiculous....this is all ego and arrogance. The editorializing and fabrication is disgusting and I am not sure how anyone can believe anything from this video.
Orangutans are not people. It's insulting to suggest they are. There is no person there, just a mindless animal with orange-red fur that will kill people who get too close, like all mindless animals.
The orangutans are Christians?
I just can’t thank these people enough for the wonderful work they do incredible is the best way to describe it.
I hope Gendut returns for Esa.
Halo my pteand 🥰
Excellent.
Why is she whispering?
Excellent depiction of a particular interspiece liaison. Congratulations.
Amazing video! Thanks for making the effort to educate people about the importance and beauty of Kalimantan!
What if he was not driven away but was either killed or died from his wounds or starvation or an illness.
Their government needs to stop this BS. If they can't. ASK FOR HELP!!
What a wonderful person
What a beautiful story. This is deep
gendut is missing because he went on a quest to avenge his brother harambe
Mbak deya terus semangat. Keep the good work!
The rainforests are still decreasing and the governments in these areas will tell you they are trying their best to combat deforestation but they really aren't because they just don't give a fuck about anything other than themselves and what financially benefits them.
Did he come back?
What a beautiful place, currently being destroyed by greed
Very well, put together story with great footage quality. Need more like this !!!!
What a beautiful film! I hope to see many more documentaries from you. I will be watching for your name. I hope you post more on this channel, as well.
Now in 2020, any news from Gendut?
Where I live the politicians never shut up about fossil fuels but rarely mention how much we need the forests as well in order to regulate our climate.
This was a Great film. There is sadness but there is also a big chance Gendut has established his own area with a few ladies to visit now and then. The wild dominant male may be keeping him out of that area but it doesn't mean he went off and came to harm. They are resilient survivors, and smart.
That’s what I hope is that Gendut has found his dominance and maybe reproduced.
That is optimism. But reality can be cruel.
The narrator's voice is very offputting. Just because you have a British accent doesn't mean you have a voice for narration
Hi, thank you for watching my film ‘the lost person of the forest’. I lived in Central Kalimantan and spent time in this place over 2 years. When I returned to film this and then edit it together I wanted to narrate the film as it had a special place in my heart. I am sorry that you feel so strongly about my voice in my film here. This was also a student film - with next to no budget. Thank you for your time in watching the film, have a good day
Thank you so much for this.
So sad
This documentary should have millions of views
Its great work that these people are doing and its amazing that these orphaned and captive Orangutans are back in the forest. However if they need to be fed to survive is that really a wild Orangutan? I am genuinely curios because to me its like saying you moved out of your parents house but you are really living in the garage and eating their food. Yeah your not physically in your parents house but are you really independent and moved out? Also does anyone think the wild male killed Gendut? Is that something a wild Orangutan would do?
Have you found Gendut yet?🥺
What I wouldnt give to film these amazing cousins of ours. Its been a dream for a very long time. Nyaru Menteng has gotten about 20 emails from me. Begging to volunteer just to film them. Ill stick to just sending the BOS foundation my paycheck LOL
Salvajes, esta gente tendrían que colgarla 😭😭😭
It saddens my heart that we can't do more for our beautiful Red cousins. My heart breaks for Isa
I would volunteer to help these beautiful animals there are people who care and would help but they charge you to actually help them so
Are orangutans dangerous?
