DIY Replace A Leaky Water Pump With Me (ASMR) In Less Than 2 Minutes
I finally replaced the water pump on my VW Passat 1.8T engine, with a remanufactured one. This is after it leaked on my crank damaging my belt and engine block causing me valves, a cylinder head job and much more.

In early October, I started having issues with my water pump leaking directly onto my crank pulley; spilling water all over the engine including the timing belt. Because of taking too long to switch out the water pump and replacing the old timing belt, the belt ended up breaking and I bent three valves in total which in return prevented the engine from starting once more. The water pump was so easy to change out, but since it is timing belt driven the hardest part was to time this engine again, what a design VW 😂

I was wondering the same thing because the space behind that gear is very tight. Unless the chain broke and got stuck in that position

Exactly. In earlier videos I explained that i thought it was a broken pulley bolt but it was obviously not
I don’t call myself a mechanic and I’ve taken apart and put back together so many sprint cars and small block v8’s I can’t even count anymore. But I know my place when it comes to who knows more typically 😂
