Me fondly remembering sonic's black night characterization is just cringing and dying on the inside. I love how accurate and mature amy is but sonic feels so out of character.

Funnily enough, Sonic was never for kids, or at least not directly, it was always teen aimed with the "too cool for school" attitude which is more appropriate to teens than kids, and yet still, is not as if kids were me brainless to not understand or enjoy deep topics, there's a reason beloved series like Invader Zim exists and still have a HUGE fandom till this day

Wow... just wow. This hit so hard for me. Im currently going through, well, a lot right now to say the least, and unlike in sonic's case, the bad isn't over. And I constantly feel like its all my fault. But a friend of mine is actually helping me go through all of it mentally, and when I started apologizing almost exactly like what Sonic did here, she said to me an almost one-to-one with what Amy said here. Just, bravo man.

To be honest this is like the first time i have ever seen Sonic doubt himself like this by calling himself not a hero and i love it shows how much stuff he has been bottling up throughout that entire arc But i wonder is how dose Sonic felt going from 1991-2025 cuz Sonic has alot of trams that he hides with a smile in my headcanon cuz this teenager has to deal with a bunch of stuff with like In Generations he had to witness his friends getting kidnapped, he almost died trying to save everyone and all realities even almost got his younger self killed who was ten years old at the time and had to wake up to the universe being completely gone, also this guy was literally killled infront of Elise that he had just made his friend he was killed straight infront of her and this man was in the straight afterlife worried about his friends and even has to deal with Eggman actively trying to murder him on a daily basis and this kid even had to watch Shahara die trying to protect himself from a attack and even almost died and got stuck in between reality in secret rings and Frontiers, he has suffered so many life ending events to where I believe he is just hiding it I'm not sure if I can say this but sonic is a bit of a traumatized character in my headcanon cuz even if you win you may appear okay physical but mentally you are damm sure no okay

If you think about it, Dr. Starline didn’t bring Dr. Eggman back. He tried every hypnosis method he had and none of them worked. All it took for Mr. Tinker to snap out of it was the sight of a beaten-up Metal Sonic. Metal was released by Sonic and Tails just to give him a second chance. Could you imagine how Sonic would have felt if he had figured it out. The virus, Surge and Kit…it was all because of him. And Belle…all this time, she thought it was Starline who took her father away from her. But it was actually Sonic.

I'm not exactly an expert on the IDW Sonic comics and all, but this kind of thing really makes me hate Starline all the more. I mean, say what you will about the whole Dr. Eggman and Mr. Tinker thing, but I think that the writers should've done more with it instead of just allowing Starline to just had to ruin it. And it really makes Starline look all the more evil if he just forced Eggman to return anyway. I just think that it'd would've been very interesting for Dr. Eggman to kind of reflect on his life and all that he's done while in such a situation, but without just instantly reverting to being cartoonishly evil when he gets his memories back. You know, maybe be a bit nuanced with it, with Eggman maybe being conflicted about proceeding with his plans because he keeps remembering the good things he was able to do as Mr. Tinker. I just think that Starline is a complete asshole because he pretty much just forced Eggman to return and in a lot of ways, ruined the nice little life he had going for him.

Did you know Sonic does not see himself as a hero so he would most likely not feel a stressed out by his heroic antics? Sonic is the definition of “I do this for the vibes and if I’m not feelin it, I just won’t f*ing do it” That isn’t even me making this up either that’s the entire point of Black Knight, he saves the day but says like 2-3 times in that game that he doesn’t really give a fuck if people doesn’t like how he does shit he just does this cus he wants to Ironically Shadow is more of a hero by intentions than Sonic is I guess what I’m saying is, someone would have to literally die before Sonic feels any form of guilt over anything.

FUN FACT! did you know Sega made it illegal to show sonic having any sort of emotion that made him seem less heroic or poster hero like, for instance, this kind of heartbreaking emotion!

The opening bit is why I eventually moved on from the Sonic fandom because people were obsessed in correcting me that I wasn't allowed to enjoy Sonic content because "it was for kids". And I had enough of mocking about it.
