I love watching videos on youtube. I'm not much of a creator myself, but when I have time I will post a video related to tools I have and things we do around my land. Long work days and slow upload speeds...
Massey Ferguson GC1710 with Titan Forks cleaning up mess
Got a new pair of 1500lb Titan Pallet Forks and so far really like them, especially for around $100. I had a bunch of trees cut down in my yard, mostly from being close to lines. Im cleaning up the remains of a maple tree in this video. The bigger chunks I took over by the sawmill to be cut into slab for woodworking, while the rest either goes into a firewood cut pile or a brush pile for burning. What made it more fun was that most of the logs and branches were frozen to the ground.....

Massey GC1710 plowing a new garden spot with middle buster
Переглядів 53 тис.8 років тому
Picked up a County Line middle buster on sale at our local tractor supply to help break up some rocky ground for a garden. Some of it was tilled with a small tiller last year when we bought this property, but we saw the need for some serious plowing and rock removal to have a great garden for years to come. For the price of a middle buster compared to a regular plow at nearly 3x the cost, it ha...
Put it in low gear!
Love this. I just got a middle buster plow for my mahindra similar size tractor as yours and it has made a world of difference. Now I can grow wayyy more food.
Are these 30” or 43” forks?
I've done same- run the middle buster first to break ground and then returned with a rear tine tiller to finish a bed. It's much better than either one individually.
I ordered the 43" from the bucket long Titans... I hope they aren't too long. I was going to go for the 30" at first but hard telling what will work the best.
Could always cut them 🤷🏻♂️
I have the GC2410 with these forks and it makes life so easy.
How much?
who needs a grapple
Little tractor can do more then i thought, could it lift a white oak 12 inches around say 14 foot long? What size brush cutter could it take
Jon Smith I've had one about 6 months. It would probably lift it close to the bucket with no problem. Hard to travel very far if the ground is bumpy, log will get off balance with only a 48" wide bucket (fork width is like 42"). I only run a 48" Howse bush hog, it could do a 5' (ideally a 54"), but I plan for this tractor to be my last & don't want to beat it up. I've got a old MF35 gas with a 6' if I need it or I want to go through some rough areas. Once I got the GC, I'd rather not even mess with the 35.
I can't watch this anymore people think they can go get a tractor and they can garden and farm.
You can do whatever you have the will to do. If this guy can take what he has and make it work, good for him. People have found ways to garden and farm with whatever resources they have available since humanity began. Sure, that's not a plow. But this guy could plant a hell of a row of sweet potatoes there.
They can and that's exactly what he's doing. Are you suggesting he just do it by hand?
what you jealous
Just sub they did a great job picking up the logs ! Please sub to me if you would ! have a great day ! Kioti Curt :-)
I think you did quite well and the middle buster did what you needed it to do. Did you have problems going through any thick tree roots? Thumbs up.
Fantastic job. Now that's getting it done with the Massey and forks. Thumbs up.
Do these forks bend the bucket where they clamp any?
I was actually concerned a little about that as well but I havent noticed any even after lifting as much as it will lift. Ive been loading a lot of oak logs onto the sawmill lately and its holding strong so far
My bucket maxes out at 700 pounds I think so as long as your around that and not abusing it we shouldn't have a problem bending the bucket.
Great video and demo. Just bought the GC1720TLB. Love it Where did you buy the forks?
I ordered them from Amazon. Couldn't find anyone local who carried them.
Homeward Boundaries great. Thanks man
That's not a plow !
No its not, but it is way cheaper lol
If it plows, it's a plow. I was actually wondering how one would work as they are much cheaper than a moldboard plow. I was fortunate to be at an auction that was not well attended due to bad weather and got myself a 2 bottom plow in good shape for $90.
what was youre next step? till or disc or cultivate?
I ran a small tiller over it after that, and about 10 minutes into process of tilling, it quit running and I had to put a new carb on it (30+ year old tiller). So needless to say the garden was planted a week or two late, but it did pretty well until the very end, when a deer ate my best cherokee purples.
Your top link is in too far. Adjust it out, and the plow won't continually dig downwards. Would help with you slippage.
Thank you. I learned that the hard way sadly. I have shot some more videos of the tractor working, but we switched from cable to DSL and the upload times are amazingly slow now. It has hindered from uploading any more vids.
Yes with it set out so blade is more at a angle I can actually do a decent job plowing the soil, it lays soil over then. Then I run a disc over it and plant corn for the deer & pheasants.
