With over 10 Years industry experience, I want to try and share/educate Land owners, Managers, Growers, field operators, agronomists and the wider audience some of the hardware issues experienced on farm when discussing and rolling out precision technology.
Understanding how to utilise your farm equipment could unlock further potential and also maximise the return on your investment of kit but also your inputs.
Hopefully this account will look at uploading prescriptions for variable rate application across a broad spectrum of kit, it should look at soil health, SFI, & all things farm related. All the views are my own, content is created by myself from individual experiences whilst working in the agricultural industry.

How to create a Variable Rate Nitrogen Application using OMNIA
This video looks to teach you how to drag through satellite imagery into the layers tab residing in Omnia so that we can utilise the imagery /Biomass for use when creating a nitrogen application within Omnia.
The video should harness the reasoning behind choosing the correct model, assigning the imagery to the plan, customising the application to account for bare areas of land or stood water but also how to export the plan for use on your tractors GPS.

Hi,can section control be setup on the quantron E with a John Deere 4640 screen?
Is there a way to use a laptop running AgOpenGPS to send the variable rate to one of these artemis screens? Or do you need an iPad? Also, with the iPad, does it have a separate GPS reciever or is it just using the inbuilt one?
Hi James, We tend to use an iPad with Cellular and wifi functionality, this is because the cellular aspect gives the iPad the GPS element which we find to be accurate enough for variable rate applications. The issue you may have with AgOpenGPS is the ability to send your GPS position, that said though I have never used AgOpenGPS so have not come across their functionality. The other issue you might find is how to connect your laptop to the Artemis? We utilise a bespoke kit to link the terminals and the iPad. This allows us to send plans from our platform up to the cloud and downloadable to the iPad software. drop me a message if your UK based and I could either walk you through functionality or get one of my colleagues to assist you. Hi, many thanks for your feedback it’s greatly appreciated, depending on which element you’re trying to connect to the John Deere screen I believe you could connect the Kuhn/Rauch box via aJD link cable. Bear in mind this will depend on the age of the JD screen, such as is it a 2630 screen or a Gen 4 screen?
