Looking fantastic Paul! New fan of the channel. SUBSCRIBED!
Thanks!
It’s a joy watching all these beautiful trains on this fantastic layout. You have done a fantastic job to create this.
It’s a joy to watch your layout. You have done a wounderful job to create this.
Сложно представить, сколько сил и времени ушло на постройку этого замечательного макета железной дороги. Прекрасный результат, достойный восхищения!
Thank you!
What is the piece between cab and tender? Is that to allow the fireman to shovel coal while not compromising the protection offered by what appears to be an all-weather cab???
Metal vestibule. Flexes with engine - tender movement. Allows access tog the tender in case stoker screw jams. No shoveling coal on this monster! Scratch built from styrene and brass and is fully functional.
Whoaaa! That camera work made me feel sea-sick..too wobbly!
Hold on!! You’ll be okay!!!
@ I am playing it safe…staying near a lifeboat.
@@struck2soonGood decision and good luck!!!😂😂
Wonderfully weathered models!
All from photos. Thank you!
There are 2 types of people in this hobby... those who have accepted the fact that DM&IR is objectively the peak of railroading... and those who have yet to accept it.
Well said!
Normally am not a fan of American model railroading, but this is excellent and exactly how I would do it.
Curious why
Thank you!
Can this train run faster than a slow crawl ?
1950s? That's a 1980s suburban @ 3:15.
Club layout.
Great! You noticed, and paying attention to details!👍👍
Found this issue's easter egg, good job!
I was born in Grand Forks in 1950 and left therein 1969. I retired from newspaper in Ogden Utah in 2014… I remember riding Great Northern passenger train like in this video but not seeing steam engines…
Thank you for your interest. The last Missabe regular steam run was in 1960.
@11:20 - That locomotive has issues with its pilot wheels wobbling left to right! Something isn't right.
Superb models with great weathering which mimics their impressive prototypes. Very pleasing action and sound. The videography is first rate for track-side angles and elevated shots. What camera did you use? Thanks for posting.
Thank you, the camera is my handy IPhone.
What brand of decoders do you use in these models? The sound is superb!!
All decoders, except a few MTH originals in a few Yellowstones that haven't been changed yet, are Soundtraxx Tsunami's.
@ awesome, thanks!!
A fun and interesting road to model.
Yes!
Great video and a great club to visit
Thank you!
Fantastic modeling... I love that 0-10-2... And those guys riding the locomotives in the yard. Great touch....
Thank you so much!
Great action, well captured.
Great camerawork by Paul Burghaus, a real master!
the Big Boy is always so impressive!!!!!!!!
This is actually a 2-8-8-4 Yellowstone. Depending on stats they are bigger than the big boys in most cases. But yes they are super impressive!
Big Boy's iron loving Midwestern cousin if you will. 😊
@@dafrog55 Not bigger, I think. But they were more powerful! By about 5,000 tractive effort.
That’s not 4014 or any of her sisters my friend. That’s a DM&IR Yellowstone.
@AnotherChannel1230 oups!! sorry
beautiful layout!!!!!!👍
Crockett, CA CMRS.
Superb as usual! Thanks Paul.
Thank you!
Excellent! A wonderful Christmas performance, and a joy to listen to! Thank you!
Thanks Warren!
😊
Where is this layout located?
Crockett, California. Crockett Model Railroad Society (CMRS).
@ thank you
When is it open to the public
Great video. Beautiful locos and they sound great! And the Carquinez layout is beautiful. Need to get back to visit.
Thank you!
Love seeing the magnificent/amazing power of the Union Pacific! The transition from the steam to diesel was certainly a special time to model! Thanks for sharing. Love the UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD, Building America 🇺🇸
We agree and thank you!
I have never seen a 9000 series UP steam engine! Beautiful/awesome as well! Thanks for sharing! I love UNION PACIFIC!!🇺🇸
Thank you!
how do you get that rod clank sound with esu loksound 5
Replace it with a Tsunami2.
Trains 🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂 coming through
0:00 back when UP had a daily greyhound engine in operation, now sitting in a outdoor park waiting silently to be that way again
Yes, the same number.
It appears there are TWO of you on this channel with huge collections of astoundingly detailed, weathered, smooth running trains and rolling stock. You should do video seminars - for a fee - on your methods. So impressive.
I am not sure which "two" you are referring to?
@warrenfrost6033 Because replies to some comments are under the username paulschannel9184 and some under the username warrenfrost6033, I wondered if that were two people plus the quantity of engines and rolling stock is astounding. If only one person, then I am doubly in awe!
@warrenfrost6033 I noticed two different usernames when the channel replies to comments, so.....
Layout rocks, as do the trains!
Thank you!
High standards

Very wonderful train 🚂🚂🚂🚃🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂
Your hard work and attention to detail is outstanding. A job done well indeed. Thank you for sharing this fine video with the model railroaders like myself.
Thank you for your nice comments!
Awesome weathering jobs!! Ever considered gloss coating the paint (excluding the graphite of course) and then weathering for a more realistic appearance?
They all started out glossy.
Very great trains 🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂
Thank you!
@@warrenfrost6033 your welcome
Excellent
Thank you!
Absolutely stunning trains and layout!!!
Thank you!
Great action.
Thank you!
Not just one DM&IR Yellowstone but 3 or 4 plus a boat load of ore cars, plus related diesels, all detailed, lighted, weathered, DCC, even crewed. I still believe you have a factory with 100 or more workers turning out all your vast galactic collection. And the smoke. Puffing smoke!
No, just me! I actually have twelve Yellowstones. Thank you for your kind comments!
@warrenfrost6033 I see at least two different names replying for this channel. Are all trains on this channel from one person, or more than one? Whatever the answer, all are detailed and run better than those of any modelers I have ever seen.
Guys, did we finally hear a Niagara's actual whistle?
Guys, how the 9000 series is too long for curves when in the video there's one on a curve beyond it's limit
15:27 🎶9000 was her name🎶
Thanks for your comment.
This has inspired me to redo my UP consist. What cars type of cars are the ones between the combine and end car
Mostly Pullman sleepers plus a diner and a lounge.
Is the lounge car the one at the end
@@jasonanderson6583 2nd from the end.
Beautiful! I always look forward to the next release. Love seeing the WP too. The crew figures on the steamers are the best I've seen. Are these commercially available figures or 3-D printed and then painted. Details like this just add to these gorgeous locomotives.
Most crew figures are Labelle or ConCor (all the same figures). Some are MTH. All are repainted and weathered. Thanks for asking!
@@warrenfrost6033 Nice work painting those up. One more question: I'm installing a Tsunami 2 in my MTH Big Boy. Hearing that you upgraded or up-detailed yours, any advice or improvements that you would suggest while I'm "under the hood". Remoter, drawbar, pickup. etc??
@@Calxi98 Motor is good. Gut everything but the two number board/class light LEDs, 1.5 volt bulbs everywhere else. Tsunami 884007 steam decoder, ScaleSoundSystems "Big Boy speaker in series with a Railmaster DLG-8 speaker, shorten the drawbar by moving the tender pin rearward. There are many detail options. Takes me at least one and a half weeks, but I am slow. I have done fifteen Big Boys and Challengers so far. Thanks for asking!
@@warrenfrost6033 Wow. Quite the fleet. Thanks much for the helpful guidance. I'll be diving in soon once I finish a different project. The "detail options" sound interesting, but first things first...getting the electronics updated and having it run well. And thank you both for the wonderful videos. Cheers!
@@Calxi98 You are most welcome!
How many different Big Boys do you have?
Ten ready for service!
