This is the final summative for Individuals & Societies this year. The task was to create a video with a group of 3-5 people about a sustainable & renewable energy source. The video specifically had to be about 4 general advantages & disadvantages of the source, & 3 advantages & disadvantages of the energy source in a country of our choice (from the "Global South").
Our group chose to do our video on hydroelectricity in the country of ශ්රී ලංකාව (Sri Lanka). The video(s) is an act of a debate that happened on the news about hydroelectricity in ශ්රී ලංකාව. Our original plan (the second video) was to build a dam under කැලණි ගඟ (Kelani River) which is near the capital of ශ්රී ලංකාව, called කොළඹ (Colombo) , but Komal (the editor of the first video) cut that part out & said we will build the dam with solar panels which contradicts her previous points of people needing the river so we can't build the dam on කැලණි ගඟ.
The videos aren't of the best quality (lack of cuts at the end of frames where people laughed, weird structures, poor voiceover quality, etc.) but this was the final product that we submitted to our teacher for our summative of Individuals & Societies in the 2023-2024 school year. Hopefully you enjoy at least some aspects of this video (it's very chaotic). Thanks for reading if you did.
