Thanks. I do some deranged in the vocal, ha ha. :-) I'm fairly certain the bass line and sound probably came from something goth...the guitars, well, a lot of distortion hides a multitude of sins (i.e. wrong notes).

As an old skool goth, I'll happily take both those comparisons. :-)

@@olexiinikitchenkoSCS I agree - I say at the end of the video it needs a bit more of a jangly goth guitar riff or two. My aim was to see what I could do *without* changing any of the original stems apart from the "vocals", which is why I didn't change the drum pattern.

I was a bit late to the BM party - though I do remember at the time all the stuff about the church burnings and the death of Euronymous, I had no chance to hear any of the music - got into it in my early 40's via Watain. Dodgy goth on the other hand...the glorious results of hitting my teens in mid 80's West Yorkshire.😎

@@PsalmsofDarkness Cheers. I find dodgy goth far easier to do than Black Metal, probably because I grew up with it. I've plenty of bad BM songs which need finishing off, but I just fancied a change to be honest for freshness/inspiration.

Nothing special to be honest. Freebie drum vst, TAL-Reverb 4, and a bit of compression. The level is set reasonably high, but then held back by the compression.
