A proper Second Age show would need to spend a season on Tar-Palantir's reign, with Amandil and Miriel at his side. While also building up Elendil and Pharazon, whose probably off in Middle Earth. How Tar-Palantir was treated in Amazon's "Show," was the breaking point for me. Your telling me that you adapt a character who's words are respected, or feared by the King's Men, is adapted into a character that is forced from the Throne by Pharazon? Yeah, no.

I think a proper Second Age show would have to spend a season on the Reigns of Tar-Ciryatan and Tar-Atanamir, and then another season on Tar-Palantir and Amandil, in order to get the Downfall of Numenor correct.

Tolkien had some understanding of the female mind writing this story. Women usually do not handle distance very well regardless of how important the reason is. However, I have read the story and Aldarion didn’t exactly exercise much tact in reconciling with his wife.

Do you consider Tar Acalimë one of the few female antagonists in the Middle Earth universe? Ungoliant, Thuringwethil, Shelob, the Mirkwood Spiders, and Queen Beruthiel are villains. Maybe Lobelia is an antagonist as Ancalimë. Not evil, but obstacles for Bilbo and Gil Galad , respectively.

Sauron would already be present and in forms tricking and deceiving. Olrin did arrive around this period in the SA but was not known as Gandalf yet, that came after TA 1000 on his return in an older form appearance. Olorin to those he knew in Valinor, and Mithrander to other elves, Tharkun the early name given by Dwarves, Icanus to the south, then later on Gandalf by Halflings and common folk that stuck for many.

how different jackson's "fellowship of the ring" would have been if it opened with saruman's narration instead of galadriel's! in a way, that would have made sense, as saruman was the most learned in ring lore out of all the members of the white council.
