HI CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW SUDDENLY THE PAPER STENCIL APPEARED BEHIND THE GOLD LEAF WITHOUT THE PAPER? THANK YOU <3 I DIDNT SEE THIS PART OF THE PROCESS INCLUDED IN THE VIDEO.
Can I ask, what brand of black paint are you using in this video? Is is oil based enamel paint? Thank you.
excellent work you lads should be proud of yourselves
Nice work
This is such an amazing process to see and watch from beginning to end. What's the clear liquid used to attach the gold leaf and how is the gold leaf removed from the unpainted areas? Mind blowing.
Wowee! Such skill and flair. This business should do very well….
Glad you like it! I hope so too
When improvisation is completely dead. Thumbs down!
There is not much room for freestyle once the design was approved by the client. It's sign making.. Here, every step have to be precisely planned and executed. It's more about showing the process, techniques that are involved in GLASS signs. Maybe look into "reverse glass gilding" so you can see other craftsmen videos and understand what it is about. Best, Robert
I had the notion today that I should learn how to do glass guilding. After seeing this that notion is long gone. Respect!
Nice!!
when you put size down , you just wash it all over the glass, but then it only sticks to the area that the letters cover ? How do you do that ? I dont see you 'paint' the size carefully so you get straight lines.....it just looks like you sort of mop it all over....so how do u do that ?
Hi Joe, I’m not sure what you mean. I use water size - water gilding on glass. Then I paint on top of the gold leaf with black paint (to get the letters/lines). Once this paint dries, I wash the surface and the gold leaf only stays where the black paint is.
Very cool work!
What product did you use for the mastic/glue? I'm going to do a sign for the outdoors.
Kickass job, guys.
amazing work!
Once you apply the gold leaf down how do transfer the stencil back over the gold leaf to know where you’re going to paint your lines? I’m starting to practice but it’s been hard researching this particular step online?
You could use a transfer paper (graphite paper - I like the brand called Saral) you just put a sheet of graphite paper under your sketch/template, and then draw/transfer the lines onto your gold. Or you could use a pounce pattern (google this)
That is amazing man!! Love that 3D finish, what material is that laser cut into?
thanks, it's CNC carving into plastic
Just magic
Amazing job! Can I ask what's the fiber you use to burnish the gold leaf?
Thanks! Sure, it's a velvet pad. "The Goldfather Burnishing pad"
Much respect !
Thanks S L
Seriously all so cool, and it looks amazing
the tiny font on the bottom corner?! How did you do that
Hi Hannah, it's screen printed
this is the most beautiful sign i've ever seen
Thank you very much!
Amazing!
Thanks!
Cool sign. Worst music
haha I love the music. different taste buddy
What is the mixture you made and poured on the diamond shape to give it texture? Thank you
its called acid etching, done with mica flakes and HF acid plus water
Does anyone on know what is the black paint that's used to make it so reflective? Trying to make a Claude glass(black mirror).
hi there, in this case it's a solvent based paint called "back up paint". Any black paint on the back of the glass will give you a nice finish if you put enough layers. you may want to try a black metallic film on the back of the glass?
Brilliant wrk !
Thanks Gary
Very cool
Amazing job!! So many techniques used. Bravo 🎉 👏👏👏
Glad you liked it!
Very cool process.
Thank you! Cheers!
Hello from Australia, fantastic work! I'm a retired signwriting teacher, can you tell me what acid you use?
Thanks John, yes it's HF acid mixed with mica and water
Wow!! That is amazing! 😍😍
Wow, must be cool to see .
bro when the relief piece went under the glass i lost it. that is so amazingly sexy brother
haha thanks!
2:50 what is this for?
acid etching to create a pattern in the glass that you can see in the end
@@loiredesigns9971 looks sort of like glue technique? is it for same texture. cause this looks a lot easier than the glue
with the glue formula you can make faux etching. so make it look like the real etching - like this
@@loiredesigns9971 appreciate your feedback
Lovely works guys! 🤩 What is the stencil tape you use at 2:40 and is it a special acid etch resist? Thanks
Thanks Mark, No it's just a normal stencil vinyl. I like to use RiMask, but other vinyl will do too
@@loiredesigns9971 much appreciated 😃👍
PLEASE can you tell me what is the white material where you cut out the letters with that moulding cutter?
Hey, its pvc in this case to make the sign lighter, but sometimes I use acrylic or tricoya mdf
Amazing work !!!
W O W !! You're making a glass sign that could be made so a 100 years ago, combining traditional and modern crafts.
Super impressive, so many different ways
Great video great work keep it up very talented 👍 🔥
Thank you!

Thank you! Glad you like it
RESPECT!
Thank you :)
Amazing work as always! 🔥 👏

Hello
Hi there, this looks great! What did you use to acid etch the glass? Thanks
Hi Tim, it's HF acid
when adding gold leaf to etched glass, would it give it the same textured affect?
depends on what type of etching and what kind of technique would you use to apply the gold leaf
