Bill Clinton on The Johnny Carson Show 1988
Переглядів 50 тис.6 років тому
Since Craig wants to whine in the comments because his wife left him there was never a Jonny Carson show it's called The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Very important given the fact that we're in a global pandemic but still :)
Really? Doc played "Happy Days Are Here Again" bit bold for Carson show
I did not have sex with that woman, Hillary did & I watched!!! We get hung up on & focus too much on charisma & not enough on what matters which are agendas & policies. Example: Carter was a nice guy with a nice smile but was a weak & ineffectual leader. We gotta learn to focus on what REALLY matters. You might not like Trumps demeanor but he is a strong & effectual leader when it comes to policies. He did make America respectable on the world stage again. The dictators feared & respected him , they were on their best behavior. Not like now, they're all running crazy & we now have all these wars going on that we didn't before with these complicit, weak leaders we have now. People don't know what the Number 1 job of the prez is, mandated by the constitution & oath: PROTECT, PROTECT, PROTECT THE BORDERS!!!! And THAT'S an ORDER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bill Clinton was a fan of President Kennedy; as a young man, he even met him. He shared an admirable quality with JFK: the ability to laugh at yourself. As Johnny Carson pointed out, not every politician has it. (The Dukakis staff approved every word of that speech, but Clinton didn’t blame them.) Clinton handled this like a TV professional, which Carson appreciated. The musical interlude was an added bonus. And Carson was superb at building that kind of rapport with his guests. Thanks for posting this; I remember seeing it. By the way, Bill Clinton was the Democratic nominee four years later. He began his acceptance speech by appreciating the chance to come back and “finish that speech I started four years ago.”
Bill obviously shook off the speech and never let it bother him. And Johnny saw something in him , qualities for the future
In 1992 one guy went out and the other rose to the top. Miss Ole Johnny lol
Bill Clinton knows politics he and Johnny had a great time he was laying down his platform for 1992 and his win over Bush
In the latter part of his tenure on The Tonight Show Johnny Carson avoided having politicians on the show but for some reason he liked Bill Clinton . hence this appearance . Although Carson himself was a moderate Republican who liked Ronald Reagan . Summertime from Porgy and Bess by George Gershwin .
You cut out the best part at the beginning. Johnny had what was probably the longest intro to a guest in the history of the show. He took his sweet time introducing Clinton before bringing him out. He was doing that deliberately as a funny bit. The audience was even growing restless, waiting for Clinton to come out, even going as far as chanting "we want Bill". That explains the hourglass. It was like "I don't want to take up any more time than I already had, so I am going to use the hourglass". Johnny was the best host!
PEACE Please
Love Bill Clinton
Say what you will, Clinton did a wonderful job with the economy and in other areas. When he left office, this country had a surplus instead of being in debt, as we are now. I miss him. Yes, he did some things I don't approve of, but as a leader, he was outstanding.
Bill was a good president. This is coming from someone who is a centrist. He had the country on the right path, the economy was set for the future, we had a long period of growth and peacetime. He is a major factor as to why the 90s were so good tbh. What the man does in his private life isnt anyones business but the parties personally involved
I completely agree. I am a centrist also. Clinton was a wonderful leader. I miss him.
And he actually worked across the isle, there was a Republican majority with Newt as Speaker, and a lot got done. It's too bad Arafat had to be rotten and ruin any chance of Middle East peace... which is far in the rearview mirror now.
The king Bill Clinton ❤
Whether people love or hate Bill Clinton, he had a finesse and coolness about him.😎🎷🧊✊🏽
Ewwww. Where’s Monica. 🤢🐍
Bill Clinton was like a shiny apple which appeared wholesome & good, but was rotton on the inside.
Guess it takes one to know one… 🤔🤔🤔
Guess it takes one to know one… 🤔🤔🤔
Shame on you Johnny for letting that POS on your show and treating him the way you did
This is peak charm
Volume is Shit💥💩💩💩
I’m not sure is more boring, Clinton’s ‘88 speech or Carson and Clinton spending six minutes on how boring Clinton’s speech was.
So the big scandal about his speech, rhe reason it "bombed," was that it was too long?
The best part of this is cut out. Johnny's long intro was hilarious.
So daye of birth Hospitalised
what website did you find these old episodes?

That guy would make who great president with having sex other girls
He was a good president and so fun.
He was a horrible president, get a clue
Why did whoever posted this video cut out the best part????? The long, long introduction by Johnny (spoofing Clinton's long, long blabbery speech at the DNC). Why do you think they were all laughing so hard when Clinton walked in? And what's with the audio. Good grief.
Imagine being this whiny and unthankful for free content. Go make your own video.
Exactly! I just watched it on the Best of Carson DVD.
I guess this is the real reason why he became president 4 years later because he was on Johnny Carson
Johnny Carson said later that he really liked Bill Clinton
I'm reading Clinton's biography and I'm here to watch this interview as he talked about it on page 342 I didn't know Clinton much as I was born and raised in the Middle East And I just heared his name as the president of the devil imperialistic country of America as a child! Propaganda ha? Anyway, I have liked him so far based on his life story
Same here. I’m on page 342 of his autobiography. This clip teaches us a life lesson on how to turn around from a bad bargain. Clinton is still one of the great leaders the US has produced in the last century, notwithstanding personal failings.
Bill Clinton become the president because he knew how to play the saxophone. I said what I said.
I bet you were expecting a huge reaction when you said what you said. 🤷🏽
The problem I have with morons who create UA-cam channels then proceed to violate the terms under which they agreed to follow is, the blatant stupidity in violating copyright law by altering/changing title and content. How stupid do you have to be to not know that there never was, The Johnny Carson Show? It is and always has been the property of NBC known as The Tonight Show. It started with Steve Allen then Jack Paar then Johnny Carson. The title is, The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. You are also violating the copyright of the Carson Estate by rebroadcasting with the permission of the Carson Estate. Accordingly, this channel has been reported for copyright infringement.
Boohoo I’m so scared old timer boomer. Go report all the other channels then that post clips of tonight shows. This isn’t even the full episode and half is clearly cut to only show the segment with Clinton but thanks for the view. Don’t forget to take your viagra 😘
Miss you Johnny!
Bill’s hands are gigantic. Just sayin’
I feel like this is one of the reasons why Trump has so much bitterness towards him
@@wendelldallas7572 oh no you didn’t
best president ever no question about it besides fdr
Theodore Roosevelt, Truman, Lincoln, Washington, Taft, Ulysses S Grant in my opinion are up there.
Not Obama?
@@musicman76enator Obama was terrible just like Bill
The sax sounds out-of-tune.
The sex
@@misterimperfect2896 That's what she said.
Your head is out of wack
Not really !
He was no Freddy Martin, that's for sure.
He really knew what he was doing in this interview. Made himself look golden again with days of bombing a speech on the national stage.
It was a big bang
This was America. Now there are no candidates left.
Trump is better than that idiot Clinton
This interview saved Bill Clinton's lifelong presidential ambitions.
Why ?
@@lexkanyima2195 because he was so charming and funny a week after bombing

The power of Carson. Wow.
7:22 I don’t think he was joking.
The guy had it.
Commie groomed.
Johnny Carson predicted the future. Happy days are here again!
Kenny Shroyer, Conn 70H bass trombone, Tonite Show Band. Directly behind, to left of Clinton (Bill Clinton’s right).
What Happy Days
0:14 i like how bill waited for the host to sit before he does,, very well mannered ... aghhhhh cutest man
Not really when he’s lied to the American people about Monica Lewinsky and flew on Epstein’s plane 26 TIMES!! FUCK THE CLINTONS!!!!
@@digitalnevada77 🤣🤣🤣 its mistake
That's not manners. Late night hosts have a whole thing about how they need to sit down last, because movement attracts attention. If they really respect a guest they will sit down at the same time, but otherwise always last.
@@lexkanyima2195 roger(s) that
Unlike dumbass tRump who steps in front of the queen!
Watch the UA-cam clip, Clintons Carson Expirience. Carsons lot didn't want a politician on the show, Bills lot wanted to carry the hourglass & yes, he offered to play the sax.
