Here's a preview of some the action at our Annual New Years Day Black Eye Pea event (2025). The winds and weather were great and again it was a great day to be at the Ft. Worth Thunderbirds RC Club. A 2024 year in review video compilation is in the making so "stay tuned".

Here's the 2024 Float Fly event at Camp Joy Park. Yes, it was August in Texas and Mother Nature did not fail. It was hot! Thanks to all of the pilots who showed up and made this years event fun, exciting, and memorable.

Here's a unique perspective of Tony White's remarkable Redemption Flight at the Ft. Worth Thunderbirds 2024 Float Fly. If you never flown on the outside of the canopy of a 3D capable float plane, then strap on your harness and parachute. Put on your favorite VR goggles for maximum immersion.

What great turnout for this monumental occasion! It felt as if it were an AMA Sanctioned event! As many of you know, Ken Knotts has made a significant impact and contribution to this amazing hobby that we love so much. The club members, family, and friends showed up in large numbers. We wrapped up the event with some spectacular 3D & Turbine Jet flying.

Wow! Mark took his remarkable L-39 out for the 1st time on video, and it was impressive. Yes, Balsa still works! Correct, I said balsa wood! It was worth the trip to visit the SHARKS RC Club for their Annual Jet Rally at the Minden, LA. Airport! The flying, the food, and the weather was great! Several pilots showed up from various states to participate in the event. Enjoy, because I sure did.

Nice fight, I had this plane before wanting to get another one.I had a question do you think it would be easier to take off with a throttle curve setup. I'm thinking it would help with not tourqe rolling on takeoffs. Setup a switch 30-40% throttle to get her up with no torqe roll. What do you think.
Hey, that's not a bad idea. I never considered it. I would just take off with approx. 20-25% throttle with my takeoff flaps engaged. But you're right it will easily torque roll.
@@FlyRC Thanks for replying so on a 6s you just use 25% meaning a quarter throttle is all to get her up? I would imagine you don't have any torgue roll then? What would you think on a 4s pack hmmmm mabey half throttle then to take off. I'm going to ease into getting used to it again. So I'm gonna fly on 4s for a few flights.
@@andybean35 All I flew were 6s 5000 in it.
@@FlyRC Hello, well I just wanted to let you know that throttle curve idea works great. Takes off like a baby no torgue roll at all, and makes it so much easier to keep it straight like an arrow. No left turn when taxing and no torgue on takeoffs. On a 4s pack I used 75% throttle cut max, and on 6s 5000 I used 50% cut max. So its actually on the 4s only giving about 50% actual power and on a 6s I'd say its around 35-40% max throttle. then when I got her up in the air flip the switch and full power 0-100% like normal.
Perfect upgrade. Can i ask, does she need to land that fast???

Heeey, thanks for subscribing. For some reason people are watching and enjoying the videos but do not subscribe. It really helps those of us who are the content creators. Regarding the 90mm upgrade I last recall Paul saying that he flies that setup comfortably at 3.5 minutes.

How are you finding the stock Retracts ? Are they holding out/reliable enough ? I`m thinking about pushing the button on one of these
I own one 70+ flights with SW120B. The plane is good representation of our Czech trainer in flight characteristics, but as usual, BH added no improvement, because the construction in undercarriage mount area is weak. And, no are not reliable enough!!! We (friend own same kit) replaced them with JP HOBBY after few flights see my video summary from the build...

I have the same jet on my work bench getting assembled. I have some Questions did you use the supplied Cg rig to balance the jet and are you flying with the throws that was recommended by the manual? Also what was your total weight of jet minus fuel… Great flight!

She IS flying like she's tail heavy. Shift batteries forward and it should fix that problem. Don't add nose weight unless you absolutely have to. Good looking bird!

What are the 90mm fans and what are the motors? What battery are you using?
They are the HSD 90mm with 6s 6000's & 6-7 min flight time.
