Hunched posture also affects digestion and absorption. Most of the bodys serotonin is made in the gut

Thank you for sharing this, I’ve noticed that no one usually talks about the mental effects that your posture has on you. I feel like I’m not crazy now !

It’s true there has been some debate on this subject. It was based on Amy Buddy’s research which was refuted and then redeemed for the most part - minus the changes in hormones. Here’s the long and short of it: www.forbes.com/sites/kimelsesser/2018/04/03/power-posing-is-back-amy-cuddy-successfully-refutes-criticism/

Thanks for sharing, this video is really helpful. When I was able to exercise regularly, specially when I was able to do 2 walks 1 in the morning and 1 afternoon/by sunset, it made a really huge difference in my life. And from there I started to search why I had been such a tornado 🌪 on the inside and the outside. Then Alhamdulilah I got diagnosed with ADHD. And now I learn how I can control my life even better.

I hope the diagnosis helps to bring some peace and enhanced understanding as to how you function best. It’s a process to decode that.

I have to have a combination of both cardio and weights. If I hit the gym and complete both cardio session and heavy weight session I found the following days I don’t need medication. That’s what works for me

    • @williamschroeder2130

First off, that's wonderful to hear. It sounds like you are paying careful attention to what's best for you and that's important. It's important to find what works as it varies a bit for everyone. We have a therapist who is ADHD who runs on the treadmill every morning for 10-20 minutes before work, sees 3 clients, then trains with boxing, then eats, cleans up, and sees 3 more clients. He completely manages without medication for his hyperactivity as he has an outlet for it. I think it's also good to do things that help you to slow your brain down and practice being more mindful. Even if it's just a few minutes of doing a body scan, a slight power nap, or focusing on breathing it can go a long way to feeling more calm and integrated internally. You will likely find that exercise and mindfulness go out the window if you don't also pay attention to your diet or getting enough sleep. So, take good care of yourself!

Diet can absolutely affect attention. Pay attention to what you eat and how you feel. Dr. Daniel Amen invented SPECT brain scans and has research pointing to diet affecting blood flow and brain activity.

I would encourage you to look for what works for you given that everyone is so different. It might be the couch to 5k app. It might be doing jumping jacks and some push-ups to get started with something. It might be walking your dog more frequently. I personally suggest something the gets your heart rate up (assuming your physician clears this - consult with them first). Apple Fitness has a buffet of options for those on Apple. Beachbody On Demand is great for those looking for structure in their programs. Maybe it’s better to do a group workout, run club, or meet a friend at the gym - or for a walk. Find what works and will increase your accountability. This helps your brain and your body!

YeP..unfort my adhd was ignored for many years. After battling depression for 14 yrs, being prescribed one antidepressant after another with NO results, I was FiNaLLY referred by my physician to a board certified psychiatrist who discovered.. I had EVERY SINGLE symptom of what at this point turned into Combined adult adhd. 🙄 I have been on the correct meds for nearly 16 years now, YeT..so much damage (mainly to my own self esteem) had already been done and I continue working on "fixing mE" bc EVERYDAY is nothing more than a biG STRUGGLE to get through. 🤦‍♀️distractions continue to surround me..SO again, I find myself daily spending MosT of mY TimE TRYING to DISCOVER TIPS through UA-cam and/oR listening to additude podcasts.. BottoM LinE? 🤷‍♀️yeah, right🙄 Isolation has become the norm for me bc of aLL the shame and guilt I've continued to deal with daily bc the neurotypical folks dont take time to Educate themselves about LIFE with adhd/ADD 🤷‍♀️Of course in the era I grew up in..adhd/ADD wasn't a thing anyone knew much about. I know I dont recall ever hearing about it,🤔then again, maybe I just forgot?? What I DO recall is being convinced I was just a BaD kiD and was criticized, NeVeR understood AND sadly, 🤔getting my @ss beat most every day of my childhood for being such a screw up! I always felt "different " YeT, as I grew older always blamed it on being the "middle child " of 5 .. was the reason a whupping was the OnlY treatment I received 🤦‍♀️..so parents.. RECOGNIZE THE SIGNS AND PAY ATTENTION..and kids.. BE THANKFUL getting them "whuppings" is a thing of the PasT!😏😉👍

Read James Ochoa’s book Focused Forward as I think his perspective on ADHD aligns nicely with the way you are describing it. I would also suggest trying a certified EMDR therapist to help work through some of the past damage. It goes a long way! :)

So..🤔I appreciate your time in making a video on adhd..😏 🤷‍♀️on the other hand however, Clearly..YoU DonT have adhd/ADD 😏 NO doubt I caN only WISH it were so EasY for me bc I continue to see videos on adhd/ADD and in the end find myself thinking the SamE thing..🤔 EaSieR SaiD thaN DoNe #addsux4REAL!🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Actually, I do have ADHD. That’s part of the reason I am so passionate about it. 😀 There isn’t a “cure” for ADHD but there are certainly good compensatory strategies and coping mechanisms you can employ to work towards your goals. I hope this is helpful to you! 🤞

This is so true. Very good video! I'm in a processes of correcting posture, some imbalances in my body that sometimes gives me pain and I noticed that the way I think and axpress myself affects a lot in how your body is positioned in space. Take care of what you think, this can lead to a unbalanced physical posture and then you get to a huge loop where mind and body doesn't connect and you struggle with small aspects of life. Peace

this is very true. with the massage bed that I have, you wouldn't believe the kinds of changes and emotional releases i've had in my body with it correcting my posture. I've had such bad posture since I was very young. it felt like there was nothing i could do to get it right. For most of my life i have felt so unimportant. but i am taking care of my life better now, and the massage bed was good for pointing me in the right direction. It's funny to me that I found this video pretty much 3 years to the day it was published on youtube. Happy holidays in 2019.
