Cover stupenda del grande Bruno Martino
i liked listening to sme of his stuff when i was little they would play it sometimes on the easy listening radio station back in the late 70's and early 80's
This is real history!
Dear Peggy Lee, I saw you in a San Francisco hotel in the 1990s. Beautiful then beautiful always.
The talented and superb pianist Frank STAFFORD arranged all my voice and piano music for my solo work in west end night clubs Vicky Aram
Terrific pairing of Jolson & Crosby doing Gershwin. Interesting to hear how much stronger & richer Bing's singing voice was during this earlier period of his career. I only came to know him as a child/kid/teen/young adult in the 60's & 70's, up until his death in 1977. I never gave it a thought until these old radio shows became available again. Jolson's voice had changed, too, from the period of his greatest fame & popularity in the early 1900's. Believe he had an operation which required the removal of a lung, after which the greatest minstrel & "mammy-singer" of them all feared the worst with regards to his singing voice. Fortunately, his voice emerged & remained most pleasant, even deeper & more rolling, different in tone from those early decades but still quite magical & unique. Sadly, programs like the Kraft Musical Hall, one of the finest, classiest, & most prestigious productions of lthe Golden Age of Radio, no longer exist. In comparison with our current times, the music & songs featured in that long-vanished era has been devalued, dismissed, & dumbed-down. Today's music can be catchy but essentially is just so much noise & meaningless nonsense, dating quickly & forgotten. Yes, it's difficult nowadays not to cringe occasionally at some of the Golden Age's inherent corniness & sentiment, perhaps even its unsophisticated notions of patriotism, but the catchy and/or lilting tunes, melodies, clever rhyming-schemes, &, yes, very frequently, the actual lyrics as well, that came out of that period, still hold up well today, even as examples of the amazing talents that created & performed them, as exhibited so sterlingly in the program featured here from 77 years ago.
Irene was in "The Big Shot" with Bogart in 1942 and was superb in the role. Too bad she didn't have more dramatic roles. She certainly held her own next to Bogart. Thanks for uploading.
My dad is on this album as a baritone! His name is Ken Nolan!
They also won nationals this year and I'm actually looking at the national champions photo right now.
... its the unknown orchestra.
get out!
... long way to 'sexpot'😅
thats dope
"My dog's more dog than your dog." -- Sidney Bechet
Damn son, where'd you find this?
This is probably the most lovely instrumental version of Gershwin's classic ever recorded. Sadly, it is no longer available. Thanks for posting~
Yoo where did you get this version ?
This is My Aunt she was amazing and her band was the opening act and played in many Las Vegas showrooms. She was a mainstay at Little America in Cheyenne Wyoming. The Song 50 mile wind and 40 below is the story of how Little America was founded.
The best voice I have never known or heard until now.

The lead vocalist sounds similar to George Harrison.
❤ to The Greatest Generation that protected us all. 🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸
The only reason for listening is that my Dad was a WW2 vet and he loved Miller. I grew to enjoy the Big Band Era because of Dad.
Giancarlo Esposito's mom!
I used to see them on Beale St when I was younger
